    It was a little eerie to listen to you reviewing passages from Scientific Advertising, a book that I had been reading earlier that day – are you sure you aren’t looking over my shoulder?
    I have often looked to the past wisdom in all things that I’ve studied and am grateful for your additional recommendations – I’ll obtain a number of the books you covered. Too many people look for the latest and greatest on any given subject when most of the original thought was already documented long ago. With Claude Hopkins I found it very interesting to note that the majority of the companies he referenced as advertising smart are still around today, nearly 100 years later.

    I have finally got around to listening to your presentation and I am kicking myself for being so slow.

    Even though I’ve read a number of these classics, I thought you did a superb job of pulling it all together in just under 3 hours.

    A fascinating overview and one that I will keep coming back to when I need to return to the helicopter view on direct response marketing.

    It looks like I am going to have to add Breakthrough Advertising to my collection.

    I’d love to hear you do a summary of the modern masters – Gary Halbert, Dan Kennedy, John Carlton, Gary Bencivenga, Clayton Makepiece and see what they’ve added to the pot of riches… but then I’ve always been greedy and wanted more.
