      You see, so many people said they loved my report… that they really got a great education during the launch… and that they really appreciated my overview of the business acceleration program. But it was written on such a deep protracted level it was hard to fully grasp.

      I even got a few emails that said:

      Rich, can you summarize what I get with Business Acceleration Program, because I want to buy it, but i want to know what i am buying.

      1 why I need it?

      Tough question, isn't it? I encourage you to give it serious thought.

      First, let's define the term to avoid confusion.

      Influence is the ability to become a compelling force on others. It is an ingredient of persuasion.

      Influence spreads quickly and easily among an audience.

      Don't confuse this with influenza... That's something altogether different.

      Influence can bring greater attention to the influencer as ideas and emotions are spread.

      Other times, influence escapes our visible attention. Instead, it is felt -  a silent emotion. It is a feeling that pushes us or pulls us in one direction or another.

      What is the greatest influence in your life? Perhaps that's where you should place your most attention.

      Our parents warned us in our childhood about bad influences. They are the kinds that lurk in the alleyways and in the deep recesses of our mind.

      Now we are grown and accountable for our actions. We seek good influences, the kind that will propel our business and enrich our lives.

      But who or what is providing influence on you right now? Is this influence for the good or is it steering you away from your goals?

      Perhaps that's not so easy to determine, but determine it you must.

      Many people think of influence as something that comes with power or money. We see it on display in politics and celebrity culture. We often give attention to those we perceive to have great influence. This is not always wise, but it is quite common.

      When we ourselves have influence on others it comes bundled with responsibility. You may feel this as a mother or father. You may know this as the owner of a business or leader of a community group.

      As you create and develop your online business, think about the influence you have and what you intend to do with it.

      If you have the ability to influence others, how will this realization shape your online business?

      Who will you reach with your messages? How will you improve their lives?

      As a business owner, each day you stand at the edge of a cliff. The cliff represents opportunity. From your vantage point, you overlook the marketplace. If you could just influence this market, you will find success.

      But you are on the edge of that cliff for a reason. You know rewards do not come without risks. If you take a misstep, you will fall from the cliff. Such are the perils of entrepreneurship.

      So, what will influence you to take the proper steps toward success? What is the source of influence that allows you to move forward with confidence?

      Imagine me as an entrepreneurial traffic cop. I'm approaching your vehicle with this question: Is your business driving under the influence (DUI)? If so, where are you driving your business?http://www.strategicprofits.com/blogpics/1_drinkicon.jpg

      -  Is your goal to influence buying decisions among the marketplace?
      -  Do you hope to influence others with your wisdom?
      -  Are you intent on using your business influence to improve living conditions in your home and in your community?


      In the Attention Age, everyone is an influencer. What makes this age special is that now all of those influencers are becoming networked.

      Consider this: Just by writing a blog, I have influence. People see my name; they recognize it and give weight to my ideas and opinions, for better or worse.

      By reading a blog and sharing a message with others, you have influence. By linking to this blog and encouraging others to do the same, you help spread the messages that influenced you. You are building a network of influence.

      Your comments on my blog have influence, too. I read them, and so do many others. By providing us with comments, you help influence the decisions of online entrepreneurs just like you whom you may never meet.

      Your words provide inspiration. Your insights deliver clarity and give others a sense of purpose.

      I know they do for me.

      So I'll ask you a simple and direct question to spark some comments:

      Who are the greatest influences in your life?

      There may be one or there may be 100. Let me know by sharing your comments on my blog.

      By becoming a source of information for others, you exhibit influence. That influence may develop into a profitable business for you. It could provide the basis of future friendships. Or, you just may be content in being a trusted conduit of attention for influential information.

      Give influence your attention.

      Understand its power and impact on your daily decisions.

      Commit to positive influences that lead to greater rewards. Your business deserves your utmost attention.  Let the influence on your business be one that promotes growth and brings happiness.

    • So, the second part of the Attention Age doctrine is coming out very soon. 

      I hope you’re as excited to discover my secret solutions, as I am to give them to you.

      I promise these secrets will change the way you live, work and think - so you can breathe... relax... smile... and make more money, while also enjoying the great gift of life.

      But in order for you to really grasp, absorb, and - more importantly - apply the solutions that I’m going to give you, you need to truly understand "The Attention Age” and why we are in it.

      I explained the Attention Age (AA) in the first part of the doctrine, but in hindsight I really would’ve liked to have said more.  The purpose of this post, and a few more to come, is to explore and dissect the AA itself. To give you a tour of the “ADD-World” we now live in.

      Paradox of choiceThree concepts discussed in part one of the doctrine:  Information Overload, Interruption Overload, and the Paradox of Choice.

      These are the three main characteristics of the Attention Age—we are so connected, we are disconnected. We are so frequently interrupted, we are becoming less intelligent. And we have too many choices and options that we tend to make poor decisions.

      The world we live in today provides endless content sources of information, and it is more than likely that you will be interrupted during anytime of the day - whether you’re in the office, having dinner, at your first born’s christening, or even while you’re using the bathroom.

      Not only are we bombarded with information, but we are also competing for everyone’s undivided attention.

      Think about this:  

      We are depleting attention at one end, and demanding it at the other - from cell phones, text messages, e-mail, you name it.

      So our attention is our most scarce and valuable resource. It's more important than intelligence in many cases, and is considered to be one of the (if not the) prime factors in determining how successful you are in your career.

      Optimizing your attention, and focusing on the correct people and objects in life, can truly make or break you. It really defines who you are and indicates what you will accomplish in life.

      As Herbert Simon once wrote,

      “In an information-rich world, the wealth of information means a death of something else:  a scarcity of whatever it is that information consumes. What information consumes is rather obvious:  it consumes the attention of its recipients. Hence a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention and a need to allocate that attention efficiently among the overabundance of information sources that might consume it.”

      I would simply add information overload, interruptions, too many choices, clutter, maxed-out bandwidth, psychic ram, and fear of missing out on new opportunities—all consumes our attention.

      Now you can see why I deem this period of our life... The ATTENTION AGE.

      With this said, what if we didn’t experience these negative effects of Information Overload, Interruption Overload and the Paradox of Choice? What if we were never distracted? What would we get done? What could we really accomplish?

      Think about it for a few minutes.

      In fact, try this little exercise: 

      Take a sheet of paper. Divide it into two columns; have one column be your common attention-drains during your day, and next to it, how much time those attention-drainers cost you. Add up all the time-costs.  Then, in the second column list all the things you would do if you were sitting in an invisible-isolated bubble. Make it a bright, colored, invisible bubble if you would like. Once you’ve filled out both sheets of paper, look at your “color-bubble” list. Ah, what a dream it would be to get all those things done in one work day….

      Here’s a secret:

      If you’ve ever wondered or been in awe of how much successful entrepreneurs get done - it’s that they spend most of their time in that “colored bubble.”

      happy bubble.jpgNow, take a look at your attention-drainers and time (they cost you) list - don’t you just want to scream! What if all those annoying drainers didn’t have to take place? What if you could make that entire left column disappear, so you could act on everything you listed in your right column?

      How nice it would be to return to your happy bubble...

      And that, my friend, is what the second part of the doctrine is all about.

      Secrets to reclaim your own attention, so you can be the productive person you’ve always wanted to be (and are when you’re in your bubble!) And how to capture and hold on to your market’s attention and skyrocket your business (hint: It’s the steps I used to take Strategic Profits from a standstill to 7.5 million in 12 months.)

      Listen up, this post could actually change your life...

      OK, this is the deal... my team and I have just finished going over nearly a thousand (!) blog posts and emails that have poured in over the last few days - all from people telling me what's holding them back in their business.

      It's truly been overwhelming... this obviously struck a chord and the response has been staggering.

      And that response has really pushed me to deeply reflect and re-visit my vast coaching experience from the last two years.

      Don't get me wrong... I am always reviewing and refining my coaching material. But those 1000+ comments and emails have been like an earthquake tearing through my business. This type of stuff doesn't happen every day... or every year.

      So this is what I've done - I went back to work and I've created an extremely powerful new video that explains why many of you been having trouble getting the momentum you need in your business.

      Now, I partially addressed this same issue a while ago, but it's very clear that I need to cover and expand on this material again.

      That fact of the matter is (and you probably won't like hearing this but) the truth behind building a successful Internet business is rarely told...

      Unless you're an experienced business builder (or you've simply figured it out through years of trial and error), you've never seen the full picture. I'm almost positive no one has ever spelled out the actual steps that are necessary to build a serious operation that generates massive cash flows and runs without you.

      Let me ask you a question...

      If someone was trying to sell you on an opportunity (a "system" that can make you money) would they want to tell you the WHOLE story?

      Of course not!

      And you know why? Because the WHOLE story is that building a business that can generate millions of dollars is NOT an easy thing to do! It takes time, effort and lots of sweat. And contrary to popular opinion, you can't do it all in your underwear.

      Of course, that's not what the "opportunity sellers" want to tell you. They want to make it sound about as simple and easy as using your remote control to turn on American Idol.

      If they tell you that their "opportunity" requires work, then they lose sales. They make less money.

      That's why you've never hear the full story from the opportunity sellers, because it's doesn't sell. Their sales pitch works best on the lazy and the stupid...

      Now you might have gotten sucked into one or two of those "opportunity pitches", but I know you are NOT either lazy or stupid. How do I know? I only have to take a look at my inbox on any given day. I see REAL questions from REAL people who are searching desperately for the answers to their burning questions about how to make a serious income online.

      So I've put together a video series that spells it all out.

      I think this video is appropriate for anyone who's looking for a path that will take them to outrageous business success. But I've got to warn you, it's not for those who are looking for a quick fix. It's not for the weak.

      Today I want to continue with the five questions that are going to Make 2007 Your Best Year Ever.

      If you followed my previous posts you created two powerful lists that show you exactly what happened in your business and your life last year- what worked and what didn't work - your successes and your disappointments.

      And you probably learned a great deal about yourself in the process.

      Well now you're going to learn even more about yourself as we get into the next step of my 2007 Business Makeover Formula.

      And today's question may reveal some things you would have never thought of in a million years.

      Are you ready?

      Your Next Big Question. How Did You Limit Yourself Last Year and How Can You Stop?

      You know how I feel about constraints. And you may not believe it, but there are nasty things hiding deep inside of you that have been holding you back from living the life you want.

      And most are not your fault. They were placed in your head by well-meaning people. Some of this stuff you're just thrown to based on things like where you came from, where you grew up, your family background, etc. And some of this stuff has been told to you by people who were really trying to help you by passing on what they thought was valuable advice to live by.

      But what actually happened was that you got hardwired with programming that's outdated. And yet it still influences your thoughts and day to day activities and beliefs in a negative way.

      The part of your thought process that has been affected by this ultimately negative input is your belief system and your core values.

      Were Your Grandparents Wrong?

      Did you have an elderly grandmother that used to tell you things like "Money is the root of all evil" and "Rich people are all crooks"?

      Well money is not the root of all evil, and all rich people are not crooks.

      Each year millions of dollars are donated to worthy causes by rich people. Their generosity has brought forth breakthroughs in the fields of science and medicine that have made this world a much better place to live.

      And even though the news media makes the public believe all rich people are crooks when a CEO is caught stealing from the company pension fund, that's really not true.

      What they don't tell you is 99.9% of all successful business people have achieved their success through hard work and dedication, not by theft or cheating.

      Exposing Your Pre-Programmed Belief System

      Along with discovering and listing last year's business accomplishments and disappointments, it's time to take a good look at yourself on a very basic level.

      This involves reaching deep into your core values and beliefs to see what's holding you back.

      And you may find that some of the things you thought were the truth are really just clich's. Misguided ideas presented by narrow-minded thinkers and then passed down from generation to generation.

      So be ready to find out that what you thought was bedrock in your belief system may not actually be true. For some of you, this may be really shocking.

      If it's your mission to discover exactly what's holding you back from achieving your goals and dreams. Then do whatever it takes to stop doing or thinking those things.

      Have You Been Operating from a Position of Strength or Weakness?

      And along with those programmed beliefs, there's the behavior of operating from your weaknesses instead of your strengths.

      Personally, I know a lot about this one! Last year I did not leverage my strengths as much as I could have. And I was involved in some things that I don't consider my strengths.

      But I realized what was going on and fixed the problems. I hired people that are strong in things that I consider myself weak in. Their strengths complement mine.

      This one essential move is already making a huge difference for my business this year.

      What about you?

      Are your daily activities based on your strengths? Or are you wasting your valuable time struggling to get better at things you know deep down are your weaknesses?

      You know what I'm talking about here. Not things that you could get good at - but things that you don't care if you ever get good at but need to have handled excellently.

      Are You Ready to Answer Today's Big Question?

      It's now time for you to get your treasured notebook of powerful lists that make up my formula for Making 2007 Your Best Year Ever.

      And create another list - this one from your deep, hard look at the values and belief system that you've been carrying around for most of your life.

      Then include all of the activities you've been doing that are not really your strengths.

      It's important to identify those activities that are definitely your weaknesses. The things you struggle with regularly that don't produce the results you expect.

      Here's a concept that can make you a TON of money.

      It's called visitor value.

      Now, you've PROBABLY heard of visitor value before.

      But I want to explain why you're probably not paying as much attention to it as you should.

      As you know, I'm a big fan of metrics. I think it's important to measure and improve everything you do.

      Even if you don't measure everything all the time, it's good to establish benchmarks to see how well things are performing in your business.

      Back to visitor value.

      The reason visitor value is so important is that it gives you a bottom line figure that you can use to measure the effectiveness of your business. But wait, there's more!

      By focusing on increasing your visitor value, you'll be improving all aspects of your business.

      You'll have to offer better products, that in turn deserve higher price points.

      You'll have to write better sales copy to increase conversion of visitors into buyers.

      You'll have to offer up-sells and cross-sells to drive up visitor value even higher.

      And what happens when you start doing these things?

      You start acting like a real business.

      While you may think visitor value is just a number, there's much more behind it. Multiple dimensions of profit can be discovered if you know how to analyze this critical metric.

      We've only touched the surface of visitor value, so if you're not currently tracking it, then you should figure out how, as soon as possible.

      And if you are tracking visitor value, then make a list with 20 ideas on how you can increase it, then pick the top three and start implementing them immediately.

    • There are lots of entrepreneurs who are quite knowledgeable; however, effective entrepreneurs are much, much rarer.

      Yet it is the effective entrepreneur who succeeds in building successful businesses.

      As an entrepreneur, you and your company make no money for simply knowing. You make money and build your business by getting the right things done. How to decide what are the right things and how to get them done will be the primary focus of your upcoming ProfitNotes.

      By highlighting both "what to do" and "how to do it" you'll learn (if you follow my lead and spend the few minutes each day these emails require) what you do well, what you need to improve on, what you are currently doing poorly and shouldn't be doing at all. You'll learn where you belong in your business, your niche and your market.

      Your first assignment:

      (1) Take out a sheet of paper or open up a blank mindmap.

      (2) Spend 3 minutes brainstorming what you believe are the skill-sets an entrepreneur must have to be effective.

      (3) Take 1 minute and rate your current level of performance in these areas.

      (4) Spend 30 seconds highlighting the areas you believe are your biggest roadblocks to success.

      (5) Take 2 minutes to answer this questions "What could you do today (realistically) to be more effective?"

      (6) Do the one thing you just decided would make you more effective today.
