Whew...just trying to catch my breath after a whirlwind past couple of days...
As you may already know, I spent over 2 hours on the phone with a group of friends, business associates, and former coaching clients who are now world famous gurus.
And I'm proud to say that it was an unprecedented call for several different reasons--two of which I saw coming, and one of which was COMPLETELY unexpected.
Let me explain...
First of all, this call was completely the opposite of what most people expect on a teleseminar.
Usually, it's YOU with the problem and THEM offering a solution, right?
Well, in this case, we made a 180 degree turn--it was THEM with the problem instead of you. And it was my job to find out how they solved it.
My goal in this call was to delve into their biggest issues, going straight to the heart of the matter by simply asking each participant 4 quick questions:
Then I moved on to the next guru in the queue. Which brings me to the second unprecedented occurrence...
A group of this magnitude and million-dollar firepower has never--EVER--been assembled for one call.
Usually, a couple of gurus will tag team on a call. And once in a while you'll see a third swoop in for a few minutes.
But THIRTEEN? At ONCE?
I mean, take a look at this lineup:
Pretty amazing, isn't it? But there they were, waiting patiently for their turn to spill their secrets.
And the answers they gave were MIND-BLOWING. For example...

Those "few hundred"...seems almost comical to say that now--especially after what transpired next.
To put it bluntly, when the word went out about the replay, the floodgates didn't just open--they were BLOWN TO BITS.
If you saw my last Twitter post, you know I was up at 3:00 am last night, watching the registrations roll in at an average of 6-10 per minute.
That's up to 60 a minute, or 3600 an hour. At 3:00 am on a Monday night.
Yeah, that's what I thought too.
Needless to say, this was not only our biggest call ever...but by far the biggest call in the history of our industry.
But honestly, if it didn't do a thing for you...if it didn't help transform your mindset...if it didn't turn on the light and reveal the ugly, nasty thing that's holding you back from success...
Then it wasn't worth a dime.
So with that said, I want to know what you thought about this call....

So…are you tweeting yet?
Because if you’re not, you’re missing out on one of the biggest opportunities to develop a closer relationship with your prospects and blow the roof off your sales numbers.

A couple of years ago, when I wrote the Attention Age Doctrine 2, I told you that your future success would depend on things like building buzz, word-of-mouth marketing, the influence of networks, the rise of the Viral Visionary, and more.

Because Twitter gives you the opportunity to stay in touch with your audience like never before–without relying on them opening an email or going to your static blog.
Now you can instantly message your followers, handing them valuable tips while also giving them a glimpse into your day.
This fosters a stronger, more intimate relationship with your audience And when the time comes to launch a new product, the whole “do I trust this guy or don’t I” objection is non-existent.
And the result? More sales coming in faster and easier than ever!
I’ve been Tweeting for quite a while now, and I must say–it’s addicting. Once you fire off a few tweets and start seeing what’s going on with others in your business, you’ll find yourself hooked on this amazing technology very quickly.
But let’s face it–there’s LOTS of money to be made here. And I want to help you build your business by giving you a few simple tips and tools that can help maximize your profit potential with your followers…
1) Be transparent–TOTALLY transparent. Talk about your life, your family, your work. Be detailed and honest. Tell them about good days and bad. Show them what it’s like to be in your shoes. Your followers want to know about YOU–not just your products or services. So give them that insight. Then when the time comes to promote, you’ll find a much easier road in front of you.
2) Tweet early and often. One of the best ways to do this is to download a free desktop program called TweetDeck. This is a powerful way to stay on top of what’s happening with your followers (especially the ones you’re looking to JV with) and keep tabs on who’s talking about you–without logging in and out all the time.
3) Retweet constantly. Retweeting (or RT) is a fast, easy way to pass along something valuable you’ve found in another tweet by simply clicking on an icon. This is giving back in its purest form, a way to share the best information with your followers without asking for anything in return. And it WORKS. Retweet the good stuff and you’ll soon have a huge group of prospects who know, like and trust you.

A few months ago, I was in Vegas visiting with Eli Goldratt, the creator of the Theory Of Constraints.
And while I was there, I did a little gaming. Not much, but I like to play a few hands of blackjack from time to time.
Of course, to me that’s not where the real fun is when you’re sitting in a Vegas casino.
Nope–the REAL fun is watching the people around you…
Because there’s always that guy who’s not playing for fun. He’s playing for PROFIT.
You can spot them a mile away. Stern, furrowed brow…sweat on the upper lip…smoking like a chimney…and cursing like a sailor when the dealer tosses him a bust card.
Never ceases to amaze me how many people use gaming as a source of income. I mean, c’mon–how many new millionaires do you ever see leaving the Vegas airport?
None. It’s always bleary eyed tourists, fishing in their pockets and purses for just one more dollar to put into the slot machine…
And why? Because they’re dreaming of the big score. The one that’s going to put the over the top for good. The one that never comes.
Same goes with the online business world…
Like I mentioned years ago in my Internet Business Manifesto, I am struck by how almost everybody is approaching their business or starting their business in a manner that seals its fate from the very start.
They’re doomed to fail before they ever get off the ground. And it’s not because of a lack of desire. Or lack of effort. Or even lack of funds for that matter.
No–the REAL reason why most businesses fail is because of lack of fundamental business building knowledge.
It’s true–the overwhelming majority of people new to the online business world will fail in achieving their dreams even if they buy lots of products, study them religiously and work extremely hard.
So how do you get past that? Well, it’s not an easy fix.
But first, you need to follow these 4 simple steps:
Establish your vision and create a strategy
to achieve that vision. By doing this you transform yourself from an opportunity seeker (bad) to an
entrepreneur (good).
Stop being so tactic-minded and start looking for products and services that will support your strategy in achieving your vision-instead of spending thousands of dollars on products that collect dust on your shelf.
Do everything in your power to manage your time better. Time is your most valuable asset, and implementing systems and processes that add more time to your day will only make your business grow that much faster.
Finally, always remember that, in order to build a successful business you need these critical things: scalability and leverage.

Since we’re all going to be up to our ears in holiday stuff for the next 6 weeks or so, I thought we might just skip ahead to the new year’s resolution part…
Personally, it’s one of my favorite times of the year. Because I get to look back on all the success of the previous 365 days and look forward in anticipation to the next 365.
Hopefully, you’ve had as good of a 2008 as Strategic Profits has. We’ve seen record-breaking growth–and 2009 looks to be even MORE promising.
And I hope you also have some big plans ahead of you for 2009. I can’t wait to show you what’s up our sleeve…it’s really going to exciting.(This will be the first place you’ll hear about it, so make sure you check back often.)
But like the title of the post says, there are a few things you can do to virtually guarantee your success in 2009. And no, they have nothing to do with buying a lottery ticket.
The secret to achieving the wealth, freedom, and lifestyle of your dreams is to actually DO it. Taking action is the most important part of any process, and the biggest player in your success…or your failure.
Because let’s face it–the following scenario has happened to all of us at one time or another.
It’s like this…
–The new year hits, and we come out of the gate firing on all cylinders.
–We’ve got tons of ideas, stacks of big plans, and we’re ready to take on the world.
–But then it happens.
–Real life sets in once again. Stuff gets in the way…projects get derailed…launches become sidetracked.
–And before you can sing another chorus of “Auld Lang Syne”, it’s April. And you haven’t done ONE thing yet.
Ouch. Sound familiar?
I know it does for me. I went through this cycle numerous times. And I’m absolutely certain that I’m millions of dollars poorer for it today.
But there are a few things you can do to avoid this trap. Here’s 3 tips that can help you get moving in the right direction…
1) Shut Up: How many times have we spouted off about our ideas, only to never see them come to fruition?
I used to love talking about my plans, ideas, and strategies. But then I realized something: I enjoyed talking about it more than I usually enjoyed actually rolling up my sleeves and doing it.
Now, I hold back that urge to talk. Instead I channel that energy towards the act of doing. This increases my desire to get started, which is usually all it takes.
2) Reduce Shelf Life: Have you ever noticed ideas are more like milk then they are like wine? It’s true–the longer an idea sits around, the more stinky and worthless it becomes.
Because if you let an idea sit in your head without being acted on, it becomes weaker and less promising.
After a few days the details get hazy…and after a week it’s forgotten completely.
That’s why we need to cut the time from idea to implementation. Act as soon as you can with whatever you have to begin with. Doesn’t matter whether it’s at the beginning, the middle, or the very end–just grab a piece of the puzzle and jump into it immediately.
If you start by making smaller decisions more quickly–without overanalyzing–you’ll gain momentum and REALLY start cranking away.
3. Dive In: I know it sounds simple, but when this is what it all boils down to.
If you need to write something, force yourself to sit down and write. Put pen to paper. Brainstorm. Doodle. By moving your hands you’ll stimulate the flow of ideas and inspire yourself.
If you need to create a video, sit down and start recording. Doesn’t matter what comes out, just as long as you press record and begin doing something. You’ll begin to see the possibilities.
Same goes with audio. Or product creation. Or whatever it is you’re trying to start on. Action must precede action, and the only way you’re going to see success with your project is to actually do something that moves you towards the final goal.
If you put these 3 things into practice, I can almost guarantee that you’ll come out a winner in 2009.
And by this time next year, instead of singing “Auld Lang Syne”…you’ll be singing “We’re In The Money…”

I just finished up with several presentations at the Early To Rise Boot Camp this week…
What a fantastic event. Michael Masterson and MaryEllen Tribby really went over and above for this one. And I was honored to be one of the speakers.
As it usually happens with these types of seminars, most of the speakers gathered in a private suite to relax, catch up, and talk shop.
I was able to reconnect with old friends like Alex Mandossian and Yanik Silver, as well as get to know brilliant people like David Cross and Marc Charles a lot better. Plus, it’s always good to see Buck Rivzi and Brock Felt.
Now, I know what many of you are thinking, because I get it all the time when I mention these “inner sanctums”…
“Wow, Rich… I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in there!”
I can understand that. When you get some of the world’s greatest marketing and business building minds in one room, creative sparks tend to fly. And million dollar deals tend to be struck.
But I’ll let you in on a little secret…
Our private suite wasn’t where the REAL action was.
Nope–the meaty, juicy stuff was inside our COO Brian Johnson’s circle.
Let me explain…
If you read my “Man Behind The Curtain” post a week or two ago, you know Brian takes care of the business at Strategic Profits. He’s my number one guy.

Gotta make this quick because we’re already into the GPS program and my coaching students are chomping at the bit to bust through another constraint…
But I wanted to point something out regarding my latest launch…something I never saw coming, but you could certainly learn from.
You see, my launch model is very simple. It’s all based around the free report loaded with solid, actionable content. This is the foundation of my business, going all the way back to the Manifesto. And I wasn’t about to deviate from that tried-and-true process.
So I went down the same road again. Only this time, we decided to toss another element into the mix–the 24 hour tele-webcast to promote the report release.
Now, I have to admit: I’m not terribly comfortable on camera. When it comes to writing or speaking them through a phone line, I have no problem. But when the cameras roll, I get a little antsy.
So needless to say, this was a HUGE step for me. I was going to be exposed to the public for 24 hours straight. And who knows what was going to transpire.
But then, something interesting happened…
We got WAY more viewers than we ever thought we would–averaging around 1000 at any given moment (even during the dead of night). And they just kept on comin’.
The video shot straight up to Ustream’s #1 position (beating McCain’s video), the live chat session was rolling by faster than I could read it, and I was inundated with questions.
However, they weren’t necessarily questions about the report. They were all over the map. And that confused me a little.
Because this broadcast was supposed to revolve around “The Uncertainty Syndrome: Entrepreneur’s Emergency”. We release it, people read it, then they ask me questions about it.
But we quickly saw that the broadcast was actually overshadowing the release. Yes, people were downloading the report, but not taking the time to read it thoroughly at that moment
They were more interested in having direct, one-on-one access to me via live webcast and getting their specific questions answered.
Whoops.
Of course, we seized the opportunity and ran with it. I answered every question you could possibly throw at me over the next 24 (actually 26 hours) and generated a gigantic wave of positive feedback.
And every few minutes, I prompted viewers to download and read my new report.
So what’s the takeaway here?
Simple. This is the perfect example of Silver Bullet #1 from “The Uncertainty Syndrome: Entrepreneur’s Emergency”…
It says, “Do it wrong fast, because action creates clarity.” And in this case, it was clear as a bell–the broadcast was the star of the moment here. And we needed to capitalize on it.
Now, that’s not to say the report didn’t do as it was supposed to. Backed by the broadcast and our affiliates, it caught fire within the next 24 hours and was downloaded nearly 30,000 times.
But there’s a lesson to be learned here…
Sometimes the best laid plans don’t turn out exactly like you think they will, and you need to adjust on the fly. This is how successful businesses work.
So don’t get caught up in following a set-in-stone plan, no matter what happens. Because opportunity may rise up from out of nowhere and stare you right in the face.
And when it does, you need to be ready to grab it by the throat and squeeze as hard as you can.

It’s much easier than you think. All you need is a decent webcam and a free online service like Ustream, and you’re good to go.
Promote the broadcast using social media outlets in your niche, like blogs and forums. And don’t forget places like Twitter and Facebook, where thousands of your potential customers hang out.
You’d be surprised how many people will show up. We certainly were. ;)

Ever have one of those days where you were so excited to get started you woke up before your alarm clock was set to go off?
That’s exactly what happened to me this morning. Because I knew exactly what I needed to tell you on my blog today — and I couldn’t wait for you to read it!
See, Friday night, Debi asked me “Do you think all your subscribers fully realize how explosive the elimination of even one, key constraint can be for their businesses?” Frankly, I had to confess I haven’t really connected those dots for you.
I want you to think about that. Hard.
I want you to ask yourself, “If every major constraint in my businesses suddenly vanished — right now, today — what would my life be like in a month? In two months? On New Year’s Day, 2009?
“How many new customers would I have? How many more sales would I be making every day? How much more could I pay myself?
“How much more fun would it be to go to work each morning and preside over a company that is bursting at the seams … that’s living up to its potential … and that is making me richer than I ever thought possible?
“What would I do … what would I buy … where would I go to celebrate my succsess? What would my new home look like? What car would I be driving? What would my next family vacation be like? How would it feel to see so much money piling up in my shopping cart every day, I’d never have to worry about money ever again?”
Because when you think about it, removing constraints isn’t just about eliminating the frustrating problems you wrestle with every day. It’s not just about spending less time at work and more time with your family.
It’s about breaking through to the next level … making your mark on your entire industry … and guaranteeing yourself and your family all the riches that flow from that kind of success.
I’ve seen it happen scores of times in my clients’ companies. Once I help them identify and eliminate the constraints that are blocking their success, the company is instantly transformed and the owner’s life permanently altered for the better.
And when I discovered this new way of creating success, it happened for me, too. These days, the toughest decision I have to face is whether to buy Debi a new Mercedes or a new Maserati. I have a king’s ransom socked away for a rainy day. My company produces all the money I could ever want — almost instantly, on demand.
But just three, short years ago, none of that was true. The one, huge difference? I learned how to correctly identify and eliminate my constraints.
