It’s a great idea, find out our constraints, but the really problem is the symptoms are clear and present, and constraints are hidden in a lot of complicated ways. In fact, I guess we need a “external viewpoint” in order to look for really constraints because “internal people” got blind in the middle of work routine.

Just like a doctor listening for symptoms to identify a single sickness, the constraint is a convergence of the many surface problems/symptoms into a single underlying problem in a business.

Fantastic video.

The thing that became clear for me, is that I’ve been trying to learn all these different things, getting more and more frustrated in not seeing results. This made it obvious to me that I’ve just been increasing my potential, instead of focusing on the constraint that is holding me back.

Also the insight that I’ve been following the “learn-everything-then-do” strategy, instead of learning-WHILE-doing, this was huge.

What is interesting is that Rich is talking about the deeper issue when most other internet marketers are dealing with, selling to and making their profits from those that have these surface issues or false constraints.

I see that most internet marketers are incestuous. They’re selling SEO, marketing, or something along the lines of internet marketing to other internet marketers and the cycle is perpetuated. There are few of the big name marketers who haven’t sold products exclusively to other marketers. Gary Vaynerchuk is one that comes to mind. He’s someone that has use their techniques to increase his family business.

Update… I watched this video in parts and Rich just addressed what I had written before.

The real issue I see across the board is laziness. It’s easier to purchase a magic bullet to do the work for you than to do the work yourself and dig deep.

Rich, this is so true and powerful and for me a “just-in-time” message for me as I’m addressing this very issue to a group of entrepreneurs next Sat. You’ve just said it clearer than I would have been able to you. I’m going to use your “link” analogy, thank you!

My biggest take away is the 5 why formula…
Next in line is to identify my constraint…and then I should be ready to go…I bought at least $1000 in persuasion copy and other stuff and have read throug it, yet, no results…I’m curious to know if this will work for someone who is an independent agent for insurance…I mean I’m solo pretty much…any comments, suggestions, will be accepted.
