NEWS FLASH – TUESDAY, JUNE 9th: We’ve put up another 2 Mini-Case Studies for you, PLUS a video message from one GPS 1.0 student who went from about 10K a month to over $330,000.00 in the first 2 weeks of his GPS 1.0 coaching. You’ve got to see this video… |
I never really thought about the idea that what made another internet business owner successful might not be the thing that will make me successful. Really enlightening. Thank you.
hey stephen… glad you found the video helpful. we’ve got more educational goodies on the way. so, keep your eyes peeled… :-)
todd
Very insightful video.
There is usually ONE solution to most of the problems…
Treat the source of the problem, not the symptoms.
Brilliant!
PhilHughesDotTV
Refreshing candor and honesty in the video and the message. Thanks.
This is awesome Rich! Just goes to show that you need a coach like YOU to help us to identify our strengths, find what we are good at and DO THAT and not what others are doing, in their style or pattern….anything you have to share always helps! This was really great! After going thru your GPS Class I was able to get rid of constraints that took me YEARS to plow thru! Thanks friend!
Sandi
This video is so coooooool. Thanks guys. I had a few big takeaways from listening andaddre watching. But the part where you talked about strengthening the “weakest link in your chain” was an eye-opener.
Now I realize that I have to pinpoint that one major thing holding me back and eliminate it. I have a fai idea what it is. It could skyrocket my results.
Wooohoo!
I think this is very good for getting to the real root of my business. It has made me think very differently
Identify your strengths and play off of those. Make a plan to minimize your weaknesses. One size does not fit all.
The big takeaway for me is to identify the root cause of the constraint. Not the constraint itself. Good stuff. Looking forward to more.
I am the weakest link, the strongest too! Addressing my main weakness makes sense – once fixed I’ll move on to the next
Really the strenghts identifications and weakness are a very good starting point to reach best results. Is not all but a strong help. Addind a well made plan, we can see great improvements in small time.
This is great stuff Rich. It’s all about finding the source of the problem and eliminating it. It also goes to show that once you’ve found the weakest link you’re halfway there. If that link is strengthened the entire chain becomes stronger. Thanks for all you do.
I have been fighting my constraints rather then getting my mind right.
Hey Todd and Rich… Great video guys!!!
Northern Cal isn’t as warm right now to hang out on the beach. Wish I was there. BTW, Todd, please follow up with me about our chat last week. I sent an email to support regarding this too. Thanks and keep up the good work and keep sharing these valuable tools, insights, and philosophies with us!
~Marc Gamble
Thanks for the compliments – the beach was great, much nicer than our conference room :-)
Just remember, keep diving deeper to find the true source of what’s currently holding you back.
remember… ASK WHY FIVE TIMES!!!
I am enjoying your comments so keep’em coming…
Hello Rich!
I just watched 6:36 and I couldn’t continue before leaving a comment after Ur first answer.
I’m a living example of your amazing GPS pilot program (good Lord! “pilot program!!! can’t imagine what the GPS 2.0 will be!!!)
You help me to identify my constrains (two mains) and blow them away almost instantly, like magically! The body example is just perfect: you have a healthy body, but if the heart fails, you are death!
If I didn’t find you on October 08, left to my own devices I would still be like a mushroom: full of “it” and in the darkness! (that’s the way they grow), and when I found my constrains (jack of all trades and company owner attitude) the liberating effect blew my mind! and helped my to grow the biz from “shacking” low 7 fig to rock – solid (in recession) 8 fig!!!
Thanks to all that, and summarizing, we are opening a new clinic in Beverly hills in about six weeks!!! and that is BIG, money and achievement speaking!!! This link is for a video to a tour in our still in remodulation offices in Beverly Hills:
http://vci.org/Beverly%20Hills%2090210/beverly_hills_new_offices.htm
opening a second clinic in Beverly Hills!
going back yo watch the rest of your video!
Thanks Rich! I do not take it for granted!!!
Carlos, “from LA”
The video and the information was excellent. Anyone who has not read it or seen it definitely should watch and read it.
Biggest takeaway: don’t drive with your brakes on. And no matter how much gas you add, you’re sure not going to go full speed ahead driving with your brakes on – could even damage the brakes, which could come in handy at some other time (my add-on)
But the hard thing – figuring out what your brakes/your constraints are.
Makes sense though, that when the constraint is removed, the car (you) moves ahead a lot faster – and also that removing the biggest constraint is a powerful approach if you want to move ahead faster.

I found out I’m good at removing constraints. It takes creative thinking and requires action.
I have to pinpoint that one biggest thing holding me back and eliminate it and then work on the next biggest.
Success has now nowhere to hide, it seems. Even when it’s dug in like an Alabama tick, Rich can still rip it out, head and all.
Thanks for the video and the over-fantastic ‘The entrepreneurial emergency”.

This is an amazing video!! The most interesting point is that there is one specific constraint in every business, and if you focus on it and eliminate it you immediately change the results!
Thank you for this video!
Hey Guy’s…
Alex Jeffreys sent me over to watch the video and I’m sure glad I did …
It’s definately food for thought …gives you something to go on with.
I liken constraint to procrastination ..I don’t know if you agree …but you’ve always got to stay positive and keep moving forward.
There is no movement until there’s movement.
I always say there are no problems, only solutions.
But it’s good to hear different views.
I get excited all over again by the points Rich makes in this video.
I took his GPS course in its version 1.0 starting last fall, and was everything Rich says it is.
The key ideas Rich teaches are useful not only for your business, but also for nearly all other apsects of your life.
Rich is right when he says that a change in your thinking can be the most important change you make in your life.
I’ve spent tens of thousands on other courses, seminars, learning materials, etc., but this is the most valuable by far.
I’m sorry it’s over.
Dave
Much food for thought. Great info, thanks guys :)
Great video Rich, I always get so much from your videos and reports. Looking forward to the day when I can come to one of your workshops and coachings. I have been just working on everything like you mentioned, but I will now work on finding the weak spot (constraint) and get it or them fixed.
I can’t wait for the next information that’s going to be released! Count me in for GPS 2.0 See you soon, Rich.
Rich,
Great video! As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt trained in Theory of Constraints, its great to see this explained in terms that the normal internet marketer can understand and apply.
Great job. Everyone has a “Herbie”.

Rich, your ideas and perspectives are truly monumental and life changing. Thank you so much for putting this program together for people.

After watching this video … I want now to find my biggest contraints and throw them out of my head placing a real solution to grow inside back. Thank you !
That working on your potential is not the only path to success and actually can distract from real results. By identifying (and prioritizing) constraints, real results will happen and may even compound by tapping into “stored potential” gained.
Another great video – thank you.
Steve
This has give me a lot of this to think about. It was a kick up the butt.
Thanks
Developing skills is always a good investment, removing your constraints allows that investment to produce profits.
Rich, you are so right in saying that your constraint isn’t easily identifiable. So many times what you are identifying as your constraint – isn’t really your true constraint. Shows that no matter your skill level, you always can use the help being made available – just the help you’re offering! Thank you
My takeaway – heart failure would be a great excuse for business failure – its my anatomy man, not my martketing !
Constraints, man, constraints.
Hi Rich, thank you so much for this video.
My biggest takeaway is that I have to identify and remove the constraints that prevent me from making the most profit.
That makes me really think about my REAL constraints. Time to review the material and start applying.
Recognizing my strenghts and focusing on them,
outsourcing all the rest.
Sorry!!!!! The wind blowing in the video was to distracting to hear the message! Norma Brosnan
I agree, Norma. Maybe it’s because I have an old audio card and speakers made in North Korea. Hope Rich comes out with a transcript.
I have a hearing problem and the interference made the audio too disjointed for me to follow. However Ifollowed the comments provided some morsels to chew on. A transcript would be wonderful.
Goldratt and Shingo would approve.
Rich addresses a fundamental issue . The tools that help to identify the constraint(s) in your business are the key to unlocking its potential. I look forward to learning more for this may well have a profound effect on my future success.
I keep chasing after systems that have worked for other people, but just as I’ve always suspected, there are other problems that I just haven’t found yet.
This was an outstanding presentation. I can now understand why understanding the constraint not the symptom is the key to unlocking whatever is blocking the path. Thank you for your insights on this. I am really looking forward to reading your report.

Thank you for the video. I feel like I have had a blindfold removed. Things seem much clearer.
With gratitude
Naomi
Great video! I’m off to identify my weakest link!
Thank you for the video.
Fabulous video. It is a liberating thought to realize that there is one constraint that will get the ball rolling to greater prosperity. However, I also liked the reality that there are always constraints in your business and it is up to each entrepreneur to decide how many constraints they wish to remove and how quickly.
Rich,
I heard from a friend of the family, “He’s a talker, not a doer.” I went through the Kolbe Index and found it said the same thing, I think. Luckily I listened to Gary Halbert interviews and now think this may not be a bad thing after all. My take-away is if you find your constraint, you may be able to exploit it! Thanks for going to bat for us on an ongoing basis.
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing it. I know there are many things here that everyone is missing out on. Can’t wait for your next release!
Hey Rich & Todd,
Great video!
The part about effort exceeding results vs results exceeding efforts is an excellent point. I think many entrepreneurs miss this when starting out, thinking that working harder is the answer.
Eliminating constraints and working less to do it was just one of many benefits learned from you when going through your coaching.
Thanks for all you do in making business and life easier and more fun.
John Stiles
Hi Rich,
You hit the nail on the head.
We too often spend too much time on trying to get good at something that is truly our weakness, instead of focusing on our strengths and applying more time on them.
Localizing the constraints and fixing them will definitely keep us from flying blind. Your analogy of the the person fixing the different ailments and not curing the sickness was great.
I am looking forward to finding my constraints and moving on.
Thanks for the awesome mentoring.
Cheers, Smiles and Success,

THis is really the best info I have found yet. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I read ‘Uncertainty Syndrome’ report when it was first time release. But I forgot about it.
This time I must find and eliminate my constraints once for all.
I have problem with reading to many ebooks, courses etc. On the video you show very good concept to learn something only when it’s needed right now to eliminate my constraint.
Thanks!
Nothing quite like getting slapped around…
I related to numerous parts of the presentation. What struck me most powerfully was the “Just in Case” vs. “Just in Time” philosophy….I have been so guilty of this one. This went hand-in-hand with the opening statements about increased potential. I was also surprised to hear that a lack of traffic is almost never the limiting constraint.
Thanks for the great content.
Thanks for sharing.
I’ve had a “business cold” and have been trying to treat the cough, the sneezing, the runny nose, the itchy eyes but not the underlying cause of these multiple symptoms.
Our constraints are like the bulldozer in the video only not so noticeable and clearly readily identifiable. We’ve gotten so used to the bulldozer being there that we’ve forgotten it’s there. We’re shouting above the noise it makes but still can’t be heard (i.e. still can’t reach potential). If we could ID that bulldozer and move it out, we won’t have to shout any more!
Cool.
Hey Rich and Todd!
Loved the video and I miss Delray Beach! I used to live in Deerfield and visit often :)
Looking forward to the re-opening of GPS and will definitely take part, I feel I have not even come close to identifying my constraints, I’m too close to the problems and suffering from all the symptoms…
I need the doctor to tell me what the “disease” is :)
Can’t wait for the next video!
Charles
Rich & Todd,
My big take away is a reaffirmation that 99% of the time, we react to things irrationally and what we think is the right thing to do, is usually not it. It is so often the counter intuitive that will help us, not what we feel.
Understanding what is holding me back, limiting and basically acting like handcuffs in my business life, is far more important than what my actual potential is, because that will never be reached until I loose these cuffs…..Just brilliant!
Can’t wait till next week.
Cheers,
Ted
I was really struck by the idea that you know when your in he correct place by when then results exceed the effort. I’ve intuitively known this, but never heard it put so well.
Rich,
Excellant video. I’ve learned a great deal from your reports and your recent information promoting the GPS 2.0.
My take away- look for the root cause that leads to the symptoms. Remove the root cause, fix the symptoms in business and in life. What a relief to focus on this rather than the symptoms.
Thanks for sharing. I hope to attend a seminar at some point when in Delray visiting my folks at some point.
Jeri
As with all real issues, I need to get to the CORE issue and not keep working on the surface issues.
Rich,
I listened ’till 27:12. In GPS Social Media lesson 22 you said: ” I want you to have a bigger goal for your business”
If you remember my internet marketing knowledge was zero, “nada”; my goals were so small that you sent me back with my 1st home work to change my goal. I did, a very reasonable one, but big: I want to open a second clinic, and it is happening now!!!
GPS was the very first internet marketing I ever bought. I didn’t even know any of the other programs from Frank Kern, Jeff Walker, etc. So far, I don’t need them yet, because my constrain was so particular, that a step to step program wouldn’t be able to help me to even find it.
You are so right, after you know how to find your constrain and eliminate it, then you can take fully advantage of other step by step IM programs. After GPS came to and end (I miss Ur calls!) I bought two other programs to gain some time on specific areas, like online video and lead sources generation ; I wouldn’t be able to take the full advantage of the programs if my constrains were still in place. Actually I haven’t applied much of those programs because I’m still so busy working on GPS on my business so successfully
Carlos!
WOW !! Some powerful concepts, Rich.
Looking at what I see to be problems as symptoms is bound to occupy a good portion of my thinking over the next few days.
Thanks for letting me watch the video -
Mike
My biggest take away was the whole bit about when your efforts exceed your results, you know you’re working against a constraint rather than eliminating one. I think I’ve been doing that for at least six months now!
My other takeway was that – yes – you can film a video on a busy beach being patrolled by Dr. Evil and still get your message out there to the masses! Way to overcome that constraint guys!
Rich,
Isn’t there some law against wearing long pants on the beach in Florida? Great content in the video. You were talking to me when you touched on the topic about attending a seminar or purchasing a course and applying it and not see any substantial growth and thinking what is wrong with me.
The take away for me is that if I am to take my business to the next level I must identify “what is the one thing holding back my business,” and illuminate that constraint.
Rich, you make Cause + Effect sound simple. It’s true, we all need to learn to get out of our own way .. if we are to be our absolute best in all that we do!
The whole of idea of 1 major constraint that is holding each of us internet marketers back is simply an amazing idea. I know that from reading one of the free reports that I have received from Rich has started my own search into my business to try and find the constraints that lie in it. I think if each of us dives deep in our businesses, and with the help of Rich uncovers the single largest constraint that is holding us back that all of us will feel the power of growth we have not yet experienced in our business.
You owe it to your self to find the constraint that is holding you back in business.
Bill
My biggest takeaway: increasing your potential isn’t necessarily going to give you growth. Buying more courses or training isn’t your solution either. 1st, identify your constraint and then work to remove it. OK, show us how Rich…
Great content, thanks.
Awesome! Reminds us that we have to know where our strengths AND our weaknesses lie to succeed–much as a financial analyst would do that with our portfolios.
My industry is very cut-throat. the very nature of dealing in my industry conjures up images of slimy salespeople that lie to get the client and then bait and switch them to maximize profits… duplicitious activity rules the land.
I grew up in a very honest family and manner. i hate the bad people in our industry and my biggest constraint is being able to convey why we were better than our competition and not screwing our clients…
Now I have created a whitepaper that reveals the bad apples in our industry and what we do differently. this one action has people calling me… talk about lifechanging!
Thanks rich.
Great video Rich! I loved learning to focus our knowledge and resources on identifying and overcoming our core constraint. Then, even if we work less, that work is focused on the thing that will create results.
I also loved what you said about “I’m a freak about getting training from the best.” It shows in the quality of what you produce.
The beach made me home sick. I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA.
Thank you!
Hey Rich,
It sounded like you were talking about my situation to a tee!
(Obviously, I’m not alone!) The distinction between potential
and the results achievable by identifying and eliminating our
main constraints is enormous! Thanks for that particular slice
of enlightenment!
John
Absolutely brilliant video. Rich you and your team should be decorated for grand services to entrepreneurship around the planet!
After watching this video I emailed my business partner and asked three questions:
1) What is my partner’s biggest constraint?
2) What is my biggest constraint?
3) What is our business’ biggest constraint?
We probably can’t afford GPS 2.0 for the same reason we did not afford GPS 1.0 but even if by searching hard we manage to answer these 3 questions we will buy GPS as soon as we can afford it.
Francis
Francis,
feeling that you can’t afford what you think is important for you … what does it make you think?
cheers,
Sir Hendrix
Appreciated the recommendation to consider courses and training materials — no matter how attractive! — with the question “How will this address the problem I have right now?”
It may (or may not) be true for everyone, but I have to say that the biggest constraint is the one I “think” I have.
My take would be that, with the obvious exceptions of physical handicaps, most constraints are self imposed, which is why we can’t recognize the constraint, let alone find the solution.
My take away is this:
I find it interesting that as business owners we are usually treating symptoms and not the core root of the problem. Knowing that “constraints” are the issue, this means that we must find the root constraint to get maximum return on investment for our time and effort.
Thanks for the valuable information!
Makes perfect sense!
Removing your biggest constraint can apply to a lot more areas than just business: health, relationships, spirituality, learning, etc. It can be a lifestyle habit in and of itself. The hardest parts of that are learning how to objectively identify that constraint and then having the motivation to actually do something about it and that may sometimes require outside help. Change can be difficult, but if you can get in that mindset, each successive change will become that much easier.
Thanks for the video.
Hey Rich!
I now have a name for the type of learning I have been doing for the last year. “Just in case” learning. I have been totally emersed in online training, can’t get enough. I read till my eyes feel like they are bleeding and yet I am getting nowhere.
I see that I need to take this issue seriously and try to uncover what my actual constraint is and eliminate it.
Thanks for taking the time to share your insights and knowledge.

I really wish to know wich are my constraints. Are they mental? Are they methodological?
I own 2-3000 per month online but not 10-20.000 why?
Very good video Rich!
Paul
Hey Rich,
great video. Key take away, as a GPS student, KEEP REMOVING next constraint…
Paul
Shifting one’s perspective on problems or opportunities can make all the difference. Albert Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
Your video shows you’ve attacked a common problem of online marketers by looking at it differently.
Thanks for your insights, Rich. Brilliant insights, not just for online marketers, but for anyone and everyone looking to be more productive in life or business.
Thank you very much for the video Rich.
The Uncertainty Syndrome Report and now the video have definitely given me a great realization about why I am stuck in a rut. I’ve been wasting so much time on the symptoms and not on the cause of the problem.
Once I got it (finally) I can’t help but feel a bit ashamed because of the simplicity. The answer has been right there, in front of me ’til now. You helped me find it.
For that realization I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Looking forward to GPS 2.0.
Thumbs up man.
The big takeaway I got is to stop looking for a solution in other products and courses until I find and deal with my biggest constraints.
I will definetly put some time on the questions above.
Thanks for the vid
Rich,
Great video. To the point and a hit over the fence. This is the number one cause that we don’t get the results we desire for the effort we expend. The “constraint” is always self directed, inside not outside. You present this is a very effective and simple way.
I can’t wait to see your 5 why formula.
Rich and Todd …Great Video today!
You gave me a “just in time” moment:
IF I dig deeper to expose the root cause of HOW I have held myself back THEN I would be unstoppable, if I ACT ON IT when I find it!
STARTER: You inspired me to set myself FREE today. I have been harboring guilt because I have overwhelmed myself with information overload to the point of becoming e mobilized. I have books, upon books, papers stacked, my desktop on my computer is littered with text edit notes and pdf’s that are waiting to be read and worked to increase my potential! :)
EAGER BEAVER: For the last 3 months my focus has been the “what’s, when’s, where’s, why’s and how’s to begin an online business and to gain more knowledge and education. This process, I thought would address all my needs for more confidence with the in’s and out’s of the internet, marketing, copy writing, attraction marketing, email marketing, niche finding, how to monetize and give value, and the list goes “on and on and on”.
BUT….
MINDSET CHANGE: Deep down “I know that I know ” that all the information and knowledge that I have been gathering will not help me to monetize my business long term. As uncomfortable as it may appear, I know that I know that I need to discover and root out my underlying problem or my weak link now, because, IF I pay the price upfront and do it right, THEN I won’t have to pay a bigger price later.
I am determined to have a healthy business.
No time like the present to fill the gap with some good old constraint shopping. WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY and WHY ?!
~ Sherron ~
My biggest “Aha!” was the concept of false efficiency — wasting time doing things that don’t eliminate your constraints (resistance to change) and don’t contribute to really productive results.
My problem is I’m stuck with some old paradigms and some awe with the new world of Net marketing that I’m not progressing toward getting my business plan done and happening online. I need to spend some serious reflective time noodling my major constraints, of which I already identified a few:
- Building a business around my personal talents/knowledge, so that I’m stuck working by the hour and can’t hand off the football easily to others.
- “Hiding” in the comfort of my home office and not having to get out in the world, meet people, take risks, give talks, etc.
- Trying to wear all 9 hats of the business, when I’m really good at only about 2-3 (and not good at the day-to-day discipline of running a business).
- Juggling a bunch of ideas/projects and getting nowhere on any of them.
- Wondering how I’m going to build an Internet business with little funds.
- Being overwhelmed to the point of inaction by all I need to learn to catch up with how to use the Net to make money.
- Loaded with 30 years of consulting, writing, training, video experience and not yet being able to focus my knowledge base in a single direction.
Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
It makes so much sense to determine the root of the problem (constraint), rather than just addressing the symptoms (i.e. not enough traffic). Tackling one constraint at a time seems like a well thought out, methodical approach.
Cheers,
GB
I had a big aha moment during this video. I have been looking for the next best thing because nothing is working as well as I thought it should. I quite sure I am not address my biggest constraint. Thanks for the video!
Rich,
Great video opened my eyes
WOW!!!
I am so glad so many of you are getting it.
This should be a very uplifting piece of news…
– you no longer need to learn one hundred different tactics at the same time…
– you can be secure in knowing the one thing you are focusing on is the highest leverage activity you can work on…
– you are closer to the success you desire than you thought….
Just keep drilling down until you discover your constraint.
If this video impacted you then please tell others about it. They’ll thank you for it.
And if someone sent you to this video, after you spread the word, make sure to thank the one who sent you here.
rich
ps – keep the comments coming!
The sound is terrible. I could not hear anything else but noise.
I would love to hear the message.
Great video. Thanks. So traffic isn’t my issue and I have to find out the root cause. I’ve heard of the 5 why formula before and never really though to apply it to my situation. Good stuff.
the idea of always finding the root constraint and solving it then moving to the next one is just what I needed to hear Thanks
Finding the cause of the constraint and focusing efforts to eliminate that cause gives me a lot to think about…not only in business but also in my personal life. Thanks for the great information!
Rich – thanks so much to both of you for this, it was eye opening.
Dare I mention a constraint to video production is a bulldozer ? Just joking – it added to the personal and real feel!.
I’m going to view this video again because it hit a spot I want to revisit. I’m sure the big constraint is ME – my fear, inaction, need to know everything & be perfect. It’s stopping me from starting – so tomorrow I’m sitting down and taking action and see where we end the day.
Re the webinar with top marketers, UK based, I couldn’t get the access code to work and contacted support – is there any way to access this now or has the opportunity passed ? I’d love to hear it.
Good luck with the launch and thanks again.
best wishes
HB
Rich and Todd,
All I can say first is “WOW!!!” You gave me more in this 1 hour video than in a number of business seminars and gurus that I have sat down with. 3 things stand out:
1. Discover your constraint.
2. Discern your inefficiencies.
3. Deploy massive action to remove constraints so your “potentials” can take life!!!
The “Chain Example” was awesome! I now have more clarity than ever once I addressed these points with the “5 whys”. Thank you gentlemen for what you shared!
Hi,
I have a very low internet connection,
so I didn’t watch all of the video,
can you make it available for download?
I’m new here but I really admit that I find your tips very useful to my business and life.
thanks, and please send me that report.
I have the same problem with Amine. Does anybody know how to download this video ?
Hi Rich,
This is THE missing piece that I believe has been holding me back for the last year ..
I believe my potential to be huge, in the 7 and 8 figures income per year, nevertheless, I’ve been stuck where I am for the last 6 months making no money ..
Now I know that it was about a wrong mindset I had, and I’m working on changing it right now, it’s like the same that happened with Frank, where he lost vision of what he really was after, and focused on finding that software instead of getting 2000 people into his offer ..
I’m so excited about this, and I know it’ll enable me to make a lot of money and make 2009 the best year of my life yet ..
Thanks for this great info ..
Adham
Rock-n-roll, Todd Brown! Call me when you can take a breath.
Great job, man.
Tony
Your video is to the point. I was treated for depression years ago and one of the things the therapist taught me was to keep asking why until I found the root cause of what really was bothering me. It’s made my life better by being able to identify and eliminate the problems. I never thought to apply the same principle to why I haven’t achieved the same in my internet business. I’ve got some work to do :-)
I’ll let you know what I discover after I drill down into my own constraints. Thanks for the insight.
Greatest product idea I have seen in 13 months of buying everything that I could afford. If I can’t afford GPS 2.0 I will look for every book you mentioned on the video plus every affordable product you recommend in your emails.
Thanx for the one insight that has been eluding me the whole time. The plan now is to find the #1 constraint , use the windfall to buy GPS2.0, use GPS2.0 to find the other constraints, develope a continous routine to refine my search for the weakest link in my marketing system.
Thanx guys for the great gift of insight.
I don´t know what my constrain is, but obviously there is one…
Thanks for rhis video!
I really thought you were speaking to ME! I’ve been making an enormous investment in my “potential”. But I never really thought it was a constraint holding me back. My wife even asks me, “Why are we not getting the same results as so and so? What are we doing wrong?” So yeah…I’m frustrated! Thanks for giving me an “ahah” moment.
Will
The idea that “Unless you identify and address your biggest constraint. You will not achieve breakthrough results.” Should be shouted from the rooftops.
Thank you Rich,
Renee
GREAT Video Rich – This is what resonates:
ALWAYS FOCUS on addressing the constraint to make the fastest progress…
1. Less effort more results = You are addressing the constraint
2. More effort less results = You are addressing the symptom
We can truly relate to the Danni Johnson example – We now have over 120 hours of content / training for Divorced Dads. We are great at creating content – that’s our strength. We get paid offline for that content up to $5000.00 a pop…We’re even pretty good at getting paid for it by offline clients, getting between 25-30 K a month for it.
YOU TAUGHT US THAT – Get paid to create your products. Survey, get paid, create.
Now that we have most of InfusionSoft ready, we’ll start getting paid online too (LOL)…
But we had some challenges along the way…getting an online merchant account in Canada was a bit of a challenge despite having an offline one for 9 years with ZERO CHARGEBACKS. We have never lost any dispute.
But we got one – but it did not work with InfusionSoft…sigh.
We resolved that too.
Outsourcing has been a challenge, even with reputable people.
We found with outsourcing that we needed to at least needed to know how to do the V1 of all we’re up to or it becomes nonsensical to manage.
A really great course on outsourcing would remove a lot of constraints for all of us we’re sure ;-) And we can think of no better person to teach it than you, with guests like Brad Smart, Michael Masterton, Eben Pagan (80 virtual workers – that is envious), Mike Filsaime, John Reese, Frank Kern (You should have Jeryl on who runs the best HelpDesk on the net – we know we’ve dealt with them all), Alex Mansossian (His VA Abby remains phenomenal)…
Many of us would pay for those secrets (Hint…hint)
Here’s where we are at:
While we were working on GPS v1 something amazing happened…
Our intern Chris has a vending business. We coached him from being a bus driver from $50,000 a year and + $25,000.00 a year as a part time business owner to $250,000.00 a year in 9 months in return for his services.
We taught him a ton of strategies to get traffic to his web site.
The results…
He ended up doing his very first platform gig for Harv Ecker last Christmas!
We JV’d on the course he sold. Never having spoken before an audience, let alone 1000 people before, Heidi designed a kick ass presentation and I taught him everything we have learned after attending 30 conferences watching the best and worst platform sellers.
Results: First time out of the gate – Chris sells 25K of courses…after the fire alarm goes off during his close (LOL) That’s pretty good overall considering he had no experience, no course, no presentation only 72 hours before he hit the stage, and the fire alarm goes off during the close.
YOU TAUGHT US THAT – Get paid while you create. We now have a course called Online Revenue System as a result that we will be using as a lead generator and additional revenue stream this year!
A clip of Chris’ presentation is at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw9tXRd82lA&feature=related
Next project – Having finally completed our InfusionSoft training and have the basics of our infrastructure in place, and having gone through PLF and Mass Control meticulously, (with some really GREAT Checklists / Mindmaps to guide us) we need to get our V1 products up quickly, begin making serious offers to our list, take our keyword / PPC market intelligence research from Hexatrack and PPC Bully and begin the exponential growth of our list.
We are trying out two interns that we get 160 hours of FREE labor from. They need the internships to finish their business courses at a local business college.
BGS was amazing as was Maven, BUT GPS was unbelievable and our favorite course from you so far.
There’s more adventures and milestones, but those are some of the highlights after six months of GPS.
Feel free to use this as a testimonial. We’ll send a video testimonial when we have a moment to compose our thoughts and get the footage together to show what GPS has done for us.
We both are looking forward to v2 to continue REMOVING ALL OF THE FINAL CONSTRAINTS to making our transition to the online model we’ve been working towards since coming off the road after Mass Control in San Diego last month…
Thanks for everything you’ve taught us. We look forward to soon competing with our former Toronto Mastermind colleague Yaro (when he lived here) for some of those top affiliate prizes offered during your launches later this year and beyond…
Best to you, Debi and the kids.
Danny / Heidi
False efficiency is working on symptoms that are not the root cause of your constraint.
All is true and quite amazing. I have an addition to that , and it is about operating from within a constraint. I have a small web site business and I know that I MUST have patience until I will be a big business , meanwhile I will have to focus from within the conatraint of being small. You can not become big overnight, you must find the constraints in your business , and be realistic about all of it. Babay step after baby step you will become better bigger and smarter. There is an amazing improvement even though you are IN the constraint of not being big. Finally you will become big you just have to strive to it in a realistic way.
It is exactly the way rich have made a lot of money by using ONLY a small list and a report. There is a way to succeed from the constraint position of not being big.
I think I’ve figured out what my constraint is….I think I am in the wrong niche but I chose my current niche because there was a low barrier to entry….I have a number 1 ranking but demographics are young and without a lot of $$$. I don’t know if I would have figured it out because it is what I like to do. Thanks for the video guys! Hiphoptraxx.com and “href=”http://www.fruityloopsmadeeasy.com”>Fruityloopsmadeeasy.com

Great video. Makes you think and gave me some definate food for thought.
Thanks.
This is really good. Thanks for the insight. It’s so true that we need to identify the weekest link in our chain, aka our biggest constraint.
Thanks Rich and co.
WOW! great advice. Really enlightening, helps to find and understand the true cause of your problem and more accurately identify the real thing holding you back.
Thanks Rich
Great video. I look forward to the case studies and product launch. Just from reading Entrepeneurial Emergency I believe I’ve got a good idea of what my one constraint is and how to root it out. Thanks guys!
Wow – great video. I will definitely use this information to remove my biggest constraints (I already have 2 to take care of), and get me moving in the right direction. Thanks for the great content!
Rich,
I have many take aways, but the one I treasure the most is that through GPS I found my constraints, focus on them, blow them away, and I became the genius! which I’ve never even dream about it! Then, the sensation of freedom that comes from that.
priceless…
Carlos
Cool info!
Wow! The idea that I am only creating false efficiencies because I can’t pinpoint my constraint was a real “eye opener”.
As a definite newbie, I am suffering from information overload, and lack of knowledge in all sorts of directions – what Really struck me in the video was linking the constraint idea to the problem solving we all develop in our lives in regard to other facets in our life – e.g. relationships – taking what we have learned from those other facets about problem identification and solving and moving it into this business.
Rich, really good stuff. What’s the difference between your approach to identifying and removing a constraint, and say for example, a Tony Robbins type of approach?
Rich,
I want to thank you for insight into the world of Internet Business. Like you state that if you go buy a bunch of books or courses, if it doesn’t help you fix a sympton to a larger problem. Then your effort is being directed or focused on the wrong issue.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Thank you Rich,
My big takeaway was discovering what constraint are preventing me from achieving my goals.
Interesting approach. I’m definitely facing this problem.
Rich
Hello and G’day
Good insight. It is what stops you that destroys potential. People will work for someone else and do things as a matter of course. But they cannot do things for themselves. They have something that stops them. Buffet, Trump and Gates employ thousands of people that make them a fortune. Few if any of those people could go out and make it themselves. Something stops them. Very few can start and the majority of those that start on fulfilling their goals actually continue to fruition. BUT THEY WILL GLADLY CONTINUE GIVING THEIR POTENTIAL AWAY TO SOMEONE ELSE.
Thus the greatest constraint is starting and the second greatest constraint is being able to continue, and then the third greatest constraint are those that stop you from reaching your potential.
ACTIONS NEED ENERGY and CONTINUED ACTION NEED CONTINUED ENERGY. This is INNER ENERGY.
To get this you need desire and commitment to start and then PASSION and commitment and commitment and commitment and commitment and passion to maintain commitment to continue.
Remember that you may need to go to the shops and you may want to go to the shops and the car may be full of fuel, but if you have a flat battery then you ain’t going nowhere.
Thanks
Great information. Thanks for reminding me of staying away from the opportunity mindset and staying focused on my constraints or bottlenecks of my business.
My copy of “The Goal” by Eliyahu Goldratt is so old, I got cassette tapes. LOL. But it was just about 2-weeks ago I noticed it in my home library and promised myself to go through it again. As I remember, it was in a novel format where you pulled out the important business concepts from the story line and narration.
But it appears your GPS program will be far and away a much more in-depth analysis and constraint-busting system.
Thanks again for this great (and important) info.

Business Goals Setting
Rich,
I have been trying my hand at Internet Marketing for not quite a year now, have made a couple of dollars but not what I expected when I started. I have done very well in other endeavors in my life but find that there is something stopping me in taking that “leap” to success. I am sure that my constraint is self imposed but am not quite sure just what it is. I need to think of the symptoms of my lack of success and figure out what is stopping me. Thanks for all of your great advice.
Rowena
Rich,
I wonder if you have ever any of the works of Adi Da Samraj?
He uses the self-contraction, where you might use constraint. However his teaching is about identifying something everyone does in every moment which is the root cause of unhappiness and struggle at every level, so it was interesting to me to hear you use the term ‘root cause’. I was very impressed and feel that there is a conversion that takes place when this ‘root cause’ is discovered. Adi Da has said it is as if one discovers that the cause to the problem is that you were pinching yourself, once this is noticed then you can quiet simply and effortlessly take your hand aways, thus the symptoms of pain and discomfort are then eliminated. I have not really gotten started in internet marketing, I don’t know how to get started yet, but once I can identify what’s holding me back I will be able to get down and dirty with it.
Best
Colin
How when asking five time but always get back different answers ???
Rich,
Outstanding. I am familiar with quality management and the theory of constraints. Indeed, this body of knowledge holds great relevance to all business practice as well as to our personal lives. Only with the perspective gained by such knowledge does one possess the means to even perceive the issues that are in need of our attention. Your analogy of strengthening chain links that are already ’sufficient’ while leaving weak link(s) unaddressed – combined with an understanding of the need to distinguish between symptoms and problems [root-cause analysis] – are critical to unleash people from arbitrarily dedicating themselves to the expenditure of effort and resources with little if any discernible results [other than disappointment and less net available resources].
It may be worth noting that very closely related to this issue is that which W. Edwards Deming referred to as seeking to optimize each [and every] component within a system. Knowledge of systems and variation are essential to recognizing the folly entailed in such a course of action. The macro view of the system that produces the desired result is the necessary perspective to hold, not necessarily the micro view of the individual subsytems or components within such a system. Each is important; however, as your example of the unaddressed weak link suggests, lacking sufficient understanding of any system of production can [and most often does] result in misallocation of resources towards ‘improvements’ that do not reflect themselves within the quality of the desired end results produced by a system.
As you alluded to in your conversation, this subject is applicable to ALL businesses, not just IM. Anyone serious about producing results, beit within their lives or through their business, should give strong consideration to what you are proposing here. The concepts map readily into virtually any area of our lives in which ‘productivity’ and results are deemed to be of value.
Congratulations Rich for recognizing and sharing a body of knowledge that has seemingly been lost to the vast majority of our population . . . and that yet remains notably absent among a majority of practitioners of traditional American management.
Identify the cause of the constraint. Not the constraint itself was very helpful for me.
Hello Rich and Todd,
My biggest takeaways is TRAFFIC is never the constraint. I cognited on that right away when Rich said that. I was thinking that it was my problem. That was why I wasn’t making enough money on my blog.
The other takeaway was something that I learned from Rich in a previous ebook. Work with your strengths, not your weaknesses. I contemplated about that and after buying courses before in, like real estate, I wasn’t happy with the work and time I invested into it because I wasn’t passionate about it. I was looking for the money and not doing something I enjoyed. Now I’m more happier and I’m trying to make a living at what I want to do for a career.
Another thing is when you mentioned “stored potential.” That phrase sounds like something from the subject of Physics. It’s energy that is pent up, ready to be used. Thought is very much like energy. It comes in three forms: RIDGE, FLOW and DISPERSAL. It’s Thought Energy and once the constraint (the RIDGE) is removed in your mind, the more money you will make which will FLOW from you effortlessly.
I thank you for enlightening me and look forward to learning more from you.
Cheers,
Rick
I recognize to the problem that more effort does not always lead to (a lot) more income.
Looking forward to finding out what is holding me back…
Thanks
My biggest takeaway is understanding the difference between “just in case” learning and “just in time” learning. My entire life, I’ve wasted an incredible amount of time and effort building my potential (but not my ultimate success) with “just in case” learning. Sadly most of us were only taught “just in case” learning in school. And so we fall far short of our true potential, as have our teachers.
Rich – Awesome stuff. My big take away was putting words to feeling I’ve had for some time, I know enough to succeed. I need to stop increasing my potential for a while and start actually reaching my potential. It’s time to get doing, not studying.
Thanks – I will stay tuned, but now I’ve got to go do…
Matt
Good to know that traffic is not the constraint, and there is another underlying factor that, when removed, can open up the flow of traffic.
Thanks for the cool ideas and insights.
Get at the source of the problem, not just the symptoms. Get the whole weed, not just the top. (Wanna guess what I was doing this afternoon?)
The biggest ‘ah ha’ for me was hearing that I only need to focus on finding one constraint at a time. Instead of spreading myself too thin, if I can identify the biggest, highest impact constraint for and tackle that then I’ll begin to see incredible results.
Thanks t both for the great insights!
My biggest take away from this is simply understanding the constraint process MUCH better.
I read the report but for some reason, this video really made me realize that I need to start thinking about my constraints more.
Plus, I’m going to do that “5 why” formula you were talking about. That’s an awesome tip!

Rich, What a great job of implementing a paradigm shift! Taking the best practices of Manufacturing/Engineering and applying them to business is a stroke of brilliance. Your recognition that these are similar systems and applying the same analysis tools to ferret out the inefficiencies/constraints is groundbreaking. I’m looking forward to working with your tools, thanks for sharing these gems!
I wish to be like you all some day.
Still struggle now.
My biggest takeaway: The initial problem you believe is holding your business back is probably a symptom and not the cause. You need to look past the symptom to find the cause.
Rich..
I was reading your The Uncertainty Syndrome: The Entrepreneurial Emergency and on page 19 I find my BIG AHA! Was so excited. I am just ‘wannapreneur’ and I am implementing what I plan and I read all pages.
Now I watched this..
Thank you so much!
I liked what I heard. Unfortunately after 6 minutes, video stopped playing. Tried again but no luck. Can you send me complete reply?
Hi Rich and Todd,
Awesome stuff!. My biggest takeaway: failure is a result, not a cause.
I had heard about the ‘Theory Of Constraints’ several years ago after reading ‘The Goal’, but never got around to reading it.
Now I see it can be used with internet marketing. Great video.
So, lets go for the root treatment
Absolutely brilliant and so logically simple
Thanks fellas, for basic insight – keep it up, and your professional standing will be exemplary.
Tom.
My big takeaway is that my constraint may be exactly the same as Mike Filsaime’s one of not wanting staff. Conversely I have not enjoyed the freedom of automation, new growth is quite slurred while you’re doing groundwork. Basically new growth is not possible because I am probably too busy keeping the business day-to-day actions afloat.
We live in an age of so many possibilities that today using the internet (which is just one component of the world we live in) is akin to stepping into infinity. Finding your constraints makes the process much more “do able” and provides a clearer path to success.
I like the use of the manufacturing industry “Theory of Constraints” applied here. It’s absolutely valid in all industries, and especially in Marketing.
Can’t argue about the results.
You are probably the only “true” guru of guru Internet marketer today. Others teach tactics. You are the only one who teaches strategies and long term version. Looking forward to your new program.
Takeaway #1 – It’s not my “potential” that I need to worry about, it’s the “constraints”.
Takeaway #2 – Each of us have our own contraints – they’re not one-size-fits-all.
Takeaway #3 – Finding the contraint is much quicker if you have the proper tools
Thanks for another informative and thought provoking video.
I come from a manufacturing and design background so it makes a lot of sense what you’re saying. It’s what I would call a bottleneck.
Imagine a conveyor belt with widgets moving along and being processed at different stations along the way. There’s one particular part of the production line that isn’t working at full capacity. Instead of moving continuously and smoothly the widgets mount up and just fall off the belt. When everything in the system runs smoothly you can crank up the speed of the production line and get maximum output.
I work in international development and interested in the power of the web to communicate life saving health messages and to mobilise children and young people to spread these messages. You might ask what I am doing looking at this video! But I have been following Ric’s stuff for a long time and try to figure out how these lessons can translate to the work I am trying to do. I know that my blog and websites are not working as well as they could and I think there is lots of stuff in this video that can support me to figure this out and do better. I am not as focussed on income as communicating well but I guess it boils down to the same thing. Thank you for the video and for other information I have dowloaded over the months.
Thank you for this video. It is just so timely. I have been really frustrated with my online businesses lately. No matter what course I purchase or technique I try I still hit the invisible ceiling. In fact the ceiling hasn’t moved for years. Thanks to your video and the Entrepreneurial Emergency I have new insights into my situation.
Thanks
eric
The idea that overcoming the inner constraints is the way to activate the path to success, and the fact that this is valid for everybody, from the newbie to the expert entrepreneur, is very inspiriting and motivating to me.
Thanks for this free input, very much appreciated.
Paolo
Awesome video!
My biggest take away is the idea of only working on your biggest constraint right now. I have been doing a lot of busy work, trying to streamline our systems, when in reality I was not working on the things that kept us from success. We have a lot of wasted time in the area of managing our data (keywords, swipe files, intel, etc).. it’s often hard to find or understand and we often re-analyze. I will now setup a 3 stage system of data collection, analyzing/calculation and reporting/presentation, so we only do the work once and then rely on our reports and dashboards.
I already now the next constraint after eliminating that one.. ;-)
Thank you so much!
For so long I have been addressing the symptoms. This video has given me a new perspective on trying to figure out why some things that work for other people don’t work for me.
Now it’s time to try and figure out what my constraint is.
thanks for the insight.
The biggest thing for me is to reminded about the importance of working with freeing myself from my primary constraint. I have been telling people they need to work with the number one constraint with their health. Working on something else is not effective. It was good to be reminded that this of course also applies to business. I understand that some aspect of myself is my current primary constraint.
Thanks Rich!
Wayne.
If you are not living up to your full potential, then something is limiting you
from living up to your full potential.
There are so many big takeaways that I got from the video… I don’t even know where to start. I guess I’ll start with the one that is bothering me the most now, in terms of realising how much “blockage” I have within me.
It is when Rich said the more we learn or buy stuff thinking that there’s something external that is causing us not to be more successful, the bigger the potential gap becomes. We are only increasing our potential, not our results.
That realisation just depresses me thinking about all the time wasted on “potential work”, where I could have done “results work” instead.
Anyway, thanks Rich for the video…
Its clear for me: info overload, buying overload, choices overload, so too much potential, but not enough focus on one at a time. Nothing new, I even saw all your stuff the first time you did all this, but still, its ever prevalent: pick your focus, on the one constraint that is holding you back, and celebrate doing this, then move on to the next. Thanks
I hate having to put a forced comment to get anything but BECAUSE you are offering a freebie if i put a comment..c’mon send me the freebie please !
When Gurus and others IMarketers will understand that they haven’t not to force people to put comment to get something ?
Want to gice a freebie, give it !! but don’t force to put a comment to get your blog “more interactive”.
I think it is a REAL “constraint” ..seriously !
Bye
B
Great video Rich which took me back to my time working on TOC and TQM projects in a manufacturing business.
Just like Jay Abraham took Dr Deming’s ideas on optimization and applied them to making marketing more effective and profitable, I see you being just as successful taking Eli Goldratt’s constraint thinking.
My biggest constraint at the moment is my health which has forced me to re-think the way I do business.
My key takeaway was that the health of a business and the health of a human being have much in common: both cannot be fixed by addressing the symptoms only … you must address the root cause of any system compromise.
Having, knowing and taking action on my target goal and the strategy/model I’m using makes Identifying my Constraints and finding their Solutions so much easier.
Goal + Strategy + Action = ID Constraints = Positive Solutions = Rinse & Repeat for More Success!
Thanks Rich for another neverending great post & free gift & an enlightening reminder for all.
+Faith
I think this video was just perfect! I never knew that I knew what I thought I knew was the problem! This think blew me away! Thnx Rich…keep the gr8 stuff comin :)
Hey Rich ,
Believe i know what my constraints are but what to do about them . That is the problem to solve .
Its like building these Barrett Jackson rare cars . What ya don’t known how to do yourself . You contract it out . But finding good help that you can afford is the constraint .
Thanks for the ideas Rich . I guess if it was easy everyone would be great monies marketing on the Net .
Brent , mopargrovis
for me the big takeout is the paradigm shift between thinking a course or more knowledge is the key but identiflying the key issue that is holding my business back. Mistaking a symptom for a constraint..very cool thanks
I have a similar concept applied to emotional freedom and how to get “unstuck” in any area of your life. This is outlined in Chapter 10 of my book You can Break-Free Fast where I quote from Israeli management consultant Elihu Goldratt who first described the Theory of Critical Constraints many years ago.
He said that in the accomplishment of any goal, there is a bottleneck or choke cord that serves a contraint…which in turn sets the speed at which you accomplish your goal. He said: “if you concentrate all your creative energies and attentions on alleviating the constraint, you can speed up the process faster than by any single thing.”
In my work I help people discover their UNCONSCIOUS constraint.
Brill how you are applying it to business – though your hypnosis training is surely part of this?
Great video
Big Take Away – Is buy this course when it comes away. I’ve watched this in other industries – where more traffic is not the constraint.
Great video Rich and Todd.
The principles seem quite simple but it’s just something that people don’t do because they don’t know any better.
I can see how focussing on your one constraint can make things much simpler and have a much greater impact on your business than spending endless hours trying to do every single thing you can think of to improve your business.
Thank you
The idea is great.
Rulez…
Do it.. and do it..
But who was the first ..’ve done it?
Laszlo

Thanks Rich!
I have been studying (and buying) Internet Marketing and Make Money products for a little more than a year now. You have helped me, this very morning, to discover that my “fear of failure” is causing a serious lack of action right now. Now, my first goal is to make enough money this week to purchase your GPS 2.0!
Thanks for the insights……. I think for the business owner and not only the online business owner this is the critical issue….. I teach marketing to a very specific group of clients and see that most get back to work and although they are very motivated to increase their business, they do not follow through. So I look forward to using this as a recommended application in the future which will hopefully increase the success of my clients.
Excellent video Rich! I took a lot of notes throughout the program. Some of the keys I tooks away are as follows:
Focus on eliminating the constraint to grow your business.
The problem is always inner not outer.
Ask 5 why question’s to get to your key constraint.
There is so much more. Thanks again Rich for sharing your insight!
This video was a great eye-opener for me. The idea of constraints are simple yet very powerful. When I start thinking along the lines Rich detailed in the video, so many puzzling things just fall into place and I start having several aha-moments.
Great video this will get a lot of people that aren’t succeeding to get their head out of the sand and start asking “WHY?”
It helped me realize that something I can control is holding me back and that I can, and must, eliminate it if I will be successful. Also, my constraint may not be what I think it is.
Thanks for this. It is reassuring to know that all that has been learned but wasn’t addressing the main constraint isn’t wasted just stored as potential and once one knows how to get the stopper out of the bottle the potential can rush out.
Guys, I was wondering when someone would get around to using Quality tools from the manufacturing Industry. I have spent over 20 years of my life working in the Quality profession and know there potential. I have been out of the profession for 8 years and had forgotten about their potential in other environments. Good going!!!!
Being retired I just hope your GPS 2.0 coarse in within my price reach.
Not sure I heard the exact term “False Efficiencies” in GPS, but it could have been selective hearing deficit on my part. Regardless, it struck a strong chord and I immediately looked at my trees again in a slightly different light. Found a much better handle on my current constraint(s). A great AHA synergy moment for me.
I think what is extremely valuable is that you are getting people to analyze their businesses in a different perspective. We often look in the wrong places and fix the wrong things only to be deceived down the line. Identifying our key constraints will go a long way towards achieving our goals and getting the results we want now and into the future. Looking forward to GPS.
View your issues you have, such as traffic, as symptoms and not the main constraint. When you eliminate your constraint, you can then zone into your true potential. A sign of a constraint is when your effort exceeds your results.
In one word – BRILLIANT
I wish I could be there at the beach as well instead of stuck on my computer watching. Good content and info though. Ironic how you had to stop talking about traffic, when the traffic went by!
Good points made.
A lot of my problems are actually symptoms of just 1 bigger problem.
Really good insights
Sean
My biggest take away was that the reason I/We still are not seeing the business success we should be seeing is that our biggest constraint might have something to do with how the individual’s brain is wired, certain line of thinking or mentality that is preventing us from unleashing individual’s potential. It goes much deeper on personal level. May be some trauma one experienced in their childhood. It may be so many different psychiological reasons that is really diifferent for each individual. And my mission is to find that biggest constraint that stays on the way to success, and will be much easier if someone can give you a hand that has been there and overcame this problem.
Rich, Going through the GPS program opened my eyes to what to look for while building a business. I’ve followed your coaching in the beginning and only applied part of what your were teaching. I found a constraint that I never thought could hold me back. I worked on that constraint and found that I was being held back by my own procrastination. I fixed that constraint and realized that I had so much more potential if I just changed my thinking about what my business was really all about. I’m on the right path now and have you to thank. And you made it possible to meet and network with so many talented people that I never would have met if I didn’t take the initiative to join your team. I am working with people that went through GPS and all of us know how important it is to identify a constarint. I get emails and calls from my fellow GPS’ers and I am more successful online now more than ever. The future looks bright in this new economy.
See you on future calls and videos
Regards,
Hal
Ask 5 whys in a row. That’s a classic, but worth remembering!
This is great stuff. I,ll start to get rid of my constraints now. Thanks
Rich
I have benefited from your ability to simplify seemingly complex issues to a few basic applications… such as how to identify my main business constaint and how to know if I’m taking the right steps to eliminate it.
Brilliant. Identify your strengths and play off of those.
What I liked is the analogy with chain and it its weakest link.
Wow,
Thanks for that information. I would never have thought that a hidden constraint is at the root of my business success. I am very interested in this concept. I am set in my purpose to ask the 5 why’s as a means of probing toward the cause.
Thanks again Rich.
Norm
This video is a breath of fresh air. I’m sure many people are thinking about the hundreds, or thousands or tens of thousands of dollars they’ve spent on the latest and greatest internet marketing course, when they should have been focused on the 1 thing that continues to block their success. I’m one of those people and am looking forward to the relaunch of GPS.
Thanks for the value added Rich!

Thank you so much for this video – I’m recommending it to all my friends for their business and social lives. My biggest take away was having been a student of the law of cause and effect for many years, one would think I would have already applied this to my business but I hadn’t. One little look and it was obvious to me what my constraint has been and the path to overcoming my obstacle.
Again, brilliant, thank you so very much.
Dawn
My one big takeaway…
I can’t say it was from this video only, but instead it is more taken from the whole of information that you’ve provided so far in this product launch. And its this simple. I need to hire someone to do the things I don’t do well. And I’m jumping right on it. As I write this application screeners are doing some head hunting for a business project manager. ( I will do the strategy, they will do the execution. )
Please send me that worksheet. I’m very interested to get to the bottom of my next constraint.
My biggest takeaway was that our beaches in Hawaii are still far far better than any beach in Florida (and I’ve lived in Florida too). Sorry you can’t be here to experience it for yourself Rich.
Aloha,
Will
Awesome!
Very good video….tad long could of probably covered it in 1/2 an hour but very good information. Next time recommend finding a spot with less ‘interruptions’ and noise.
Rich once again has nailed the issues most internet marketers are facing and that is thinking that every problem can be fixed with a generic ‘formula’ solution or the latest fandangle strategy, when that is not the case.
Maybe that is why the US are changing the ‘testimonial’ laws because most people’s testimonials are not the average result for the average purchaser of the strategy, formula or traffic generating system. At least now we know why!
I totally related to the ‘missing link’ or ‘weak link’ in your business analogy and actually felt a huge sense of relief when Rich so easily explained why so many people keep chasing the wrong ‘fix’ or ‘latest strategy’, when they have not even figured out their weakest link which is the ‘constraint’ in their business.
Rich also very clearly articulated the difference between a symptom and a constraint making it very easy for me to look at my own business, do my whys and try and figure out where the weakest link is that is holding me back from the targets I have set myself.
Thanks so much for this video. I actually got to meet Rich a couple of years ago in Sydney Australia. He is as nice in person as he is in the video.
Thanks for genuinely trying to help people figure it out Rich.
I look forward to receiving your ‘5 Whys’ report and I will definitely be using it in my business.
Look forward to the next one.
Cheers

Wow! Great stuff! I think my biggest take away, is that I’m now asking the question, WHAT IS MY CONSTRAINT? It’s not traffic…, traffic is a symptom.
Rich-
Outstanding, cut to the core stuff (As usual). The video reminds me of a quote I put up recently on twitter:
“It’s not what you are that holds you back,it’s what you think you are not.”
We so often struggle to improve, that we forget removing barriers increases our momentum so much faster!
A new line for my white board. “Ask 5 whys.”
Reminds me of Sales school “Take 5 no’s”
Jake J
Thanks for great video. Now interesting how many people will be able to dig into their constrains and identify their biggest one without going actually through GPS, when I look at examples they seems to be easy and obvious, but when I try to nail my own it is still not clear what exactly holds me back. But at least thanks to Rich I know for what to look – not skill and not tools, I sure have enough already. So thanks again for pointing to right direction!
Thanks for all the great content.
Rich you are one of the few guys on the internet that anyone should listen too. It so refreshing to here good information and not the grabage that is out there. Anyone who really wants to learn should listen and follow Rich.
Hi there Rich
Thanks for such a mind-blowing video. It gave me so much to think about as I embark on a new copywriting business.
For me, your video has given me the chance to reflect on my strengths and to confront my constraints.
My next mission is to tackle those constraints, having put it off for a while. With new vision and positivity, I know I’ll get there.
Thanks again
Very enlightening video, and just goes to show everything is under our nose – sometimes, well most of the time we dont see it.
Biggest take away: The concept of False efficiency; time spent working on anything other than that one constraint in your business is considered ineffective and thus will never produce the rapid breakthrough or the leverage that would bring.
Also liked the idea that adding more knowledge will only build potential unless there’s a comparative output in results. In identifying and overcoming your constraint it enables you to get closer to reaching your potential.
Really enjoyed the video and found it quite profound!
I’m currently mapping out all my objectives and identifying all the constraints for each objective and looking for a common theme. Hope to find my major constraint very soon!
Thanks!
Jeran
I have a lot of talent in many different areas but there always seems to be one thing holding me back. This has made me start to dig deeper to find the root of that problem.
David
.
What is the cause of the constraints holding me back? Thats the hardest part to identify as well!
My main takeaway is how much impact resolving just one constraint can have on your business.
Thanks for the insight Rich. I learned that I should start “learning” less, and doing more. Your info is always helpful and much appreciated. Keep it coming. Most of us need it more than we realize. Your video taught me a lot.
Thanks for great content, outstanding once again. My biggest takeaway was that I’ve been beating myself up for nothing – I thought I wasn’t trying hard enough, I must be lazy, all when I’m being told by everyone around me that I work too hard.
How can I be working too hard when the results aren’t coming, right?
So I better stop beating my head against the wall and start looking for that constraint, hadn’t I!
Best wishes!
Hi Rich,
great info – thanks. My biggest take-away is that there is no one size fits all solution to a business. Love the idea too of raised levels of business thinking as you change your approach to how and why your business works as it does.
My second big take-away is that you should never work with children, animals or bulldozers. ;-)
Cheers
Nick
Very eye opening. You can work 20 hours a day and not get results if your focus is not in the right place
And I though upskilling was my biggest challenge…
Now I can move on from that…thanks!
Focus is so necessary. I’ve done so much work, but I haven’t been consistent enough. I know what I need to do and I need to be more consistent and persistent.
Hi. First off, great video, very informative.
What this video did for me was that it reminded me that there are other issues to address than just what the numerous marketing-”courses” in my inbox promising succes, in order for my business to succeed. Often it’s hard to focus on what your main constraint is, when your first thought is “maybe if I do just one more course”…
Thanks.
The Video really reinforces, for me, the point that many times the simplest solution may really be the most viable solution that exits.
It’s always the simplest ideas that seem to work the best in growing a successful business. This video definitely re-shed some light on why my business hasn’t grown in the past year. I need to find and remove the #1 contraint in my business.
Thanks so much for this Rich. Looking forward to the 5 Why formula tool. Much appreciated.
Hi Rich,
Great job as usual. I see now that these constraints apply to any business whether it is off-line or on-line.
Thanks,
Roy
Thanks so much for this Rich. Looking forward to the 5 Why formula tool. It gave me a lot of food for thought and some ideas.
To think I am just one tweak away from making this work, after 2 years and thousands of $.
Awesome video! My big take away is that I need to look behind the syndroms to find the core which holds me back to reach my full potential. Very inspiring.
GOod stuff.
Thanks Rich for the very informative and deep thought process of finding out what really holds us back. Emotionally I don’t feel I have a constraint right now to overcome, but mentally and physically I do. And you have opened my eyes to this and I am starting to focus on those constraints in a different light.
As an individual who has been studying internet marketing for the last two years but has yet to start any concrete business I found this video very helpful because it addresses some of the constraints holding me back. I wish I had the resources to indulge in all of Rich’s courses because I find them to be the most interesting and helpful since I started doing this so any freebie that comes my way such as this is always welcome and helpful. Hopefully some day I will be able to share my experiences derived form the help I got from Rich and of course Todd. Looking forward to the next videos.
thats true evry business have his flaws
Hi All:
You might have just saved me a lot of time and money with this informative video.
Thanks, Mike
Thanks Rich for helping me focus more on the constraint rather than dancing around other non important issues in my online business.
Need to step back, rethink and readdress some of my business model.
It’s not you. It’s me.
Figure out what my biggest problem is and fix it. Easier said than done, since its usually NOT what we think it is.
You’re a master at using the problem/solution formula. Loved it.
The good news was in realizing that all those years spent building my potential will not be wasted.
Thanks for the insight,
Brian
Nice video, Rich! I agree 100% with stregthening your strenghts. Focusing on a weakness means you get a less weak weakness… capitalize on your best, your unique ability, and the find people that are good at doing what you are not good at.
Thank you!

Watch this great traffic video
Amazing!
You guys know the principle:
the most dynamic philosophies/strategies
seem to be some of the simplest to initiate, yet
almost invisible to most people, due to the simplicity.
WOW, what a great video.
I have been looking for the key in all the wrong places
Wow I thought I was in another 6 Sigma Meeting but applied to my business.
1. Why 2. Why 3. Why 4. Why 5. Why—Find the Root Cause. Feels like we will always have constraints no matter what.
COOL STUFF!
Jose
Great stuff. Talking about the guy who was working too many hours, and reducing it to 3 hours a day, yet making more money from the new mindset, was awesome. Sounds like me sometimes. That’s my biggest take away.
My biggest take away was finding my goal then to take steps toward it without getting entrepreneurial ADD.
Hey,
I cannot hear the video. All I can hear is the wind and just mumbling:(
My biggest takeaway is I need to work smarter instead of harder.
Kevin
Not the ussual overhyped sales page. Someone I can relate to thats not talking down to me.
The simplicity of your idea is breathtaking !
Up there with great thinkers.
Now to identify symptoms, ask why and discover the core issue.
I am grateful for your insights
I,m In Agreement with Murray,Your Insightis is increadble
I get goose bumps just listing to you about Constraints the
meaning of them & needs to be found out & done about them.
I,M hard to settle to start listening, but once i do i could
still be there next week, Your knowledge of all this
is something that most of us can only dream of knowing.I think
anyone that starts listening never wants to stop.
THANK YOU

Quit investing in potential and invest in finding and eliminating the constraint.
The biggest thing I took away, is understanding about improving your potential, and that learning ‘more’, which is a problem for me, I’m a habitual student, may increase my potential, but that until “My Constraint” (which I don’t know what it is yet) IS REMOVED, I will NOT reap or experience that potential.
Looking forward to your ‘why’ material. Hopefully I’ll be closer to understanding ‘what’ it is that is holding me back.
Thanks,
Tom
Thanks this is the one example of open your mind to ask others for help and get to the one thing that holds you back. The funny thing is you already know it if you are honest with yourself now try and change it.
Very helpful for any business.
Donna http://www.guardyourselfnow.com
Very good video. Right on. Woke me up and thank-u. I have determined that I need to find the weakest link. The answer is to ask more for the sale, add bonues, and make a limited time and limited amount of the special bonus. The root cause.
Thanks so much.
Anton,

My biggest takeaway is that Traffic is NOT the constraint.
Work on the system!..it says it all!
Johnny
Dear Readers,
Any objective will have a minimum set of action-items to be executed in order to be attained.
One of those items is the MOST DETERMINING ITEM (your constraint) without which it would be impossible to reach the objective.
Unless you’re concentrating on the most determining item for your desired outcome, you’re basically NOT working towards your objective. You’re creating False Efficiencies.
While most people can’t identify their most important constraint on their own, there’s actually a very simple way:
(The following is actually my idea (influenced by Brian Tracy’s teachings))
1. Identify your objective very CLEARLY
2. Identify all the must action-items for your objective
3. Pick-out the most determining action item for the desired outcome
4. That item is actually your first Major Constraint waiting to be fixed
(returning back to the take-aways)
So either you have the knowledge and resources to fix that most determining item, or you must be on your way to acquire the knowledge and resources to fix that constraint.
Hope that helps,
Emre Yuce
from Turkey
Biggest takeaway is the pointed reminder to dig deeper into root causes and self limiting beliefs to best manage and overcome obstacles.
A major constraint, once identified will lead to a greater return with Less effort!
Straight to the Point !
This concept is so simple, so easily understood, and frankly, something I’m ashamed to say really never crossed my mind. Granted, finding the constraints may not be easy, but realizing they’re there and must be overcome should have been the first thing I thought of instead of seeking out unrealistic solutions to obstacles and deamons that haunt me. What dawned on me while watching your video is that I (and I’m sure many others) have conditioned myself to subconsciencely think that solutions to problems are only effective if they’re big, complicated, and maybe even prohibitively expensive. I can sum up what your video made me realize in one line. “The solution to any problem is to actually figure out what the real problem is.” I’m sure the rest is easy.
My biggest takeaway:
Constraint is one thing that pull back your release of potential which makes the most significant difference in the success of your business
Reaching your full potential-
All of the topics in this video touch upon our
need or desire to make money and to achieve
business growth: desperation, secrets,
investment, recognizing and strengthening the

answers.
Nice video ;)

This made me see that my potential is really high. I just need to get out of my own way and figure out what my strengths are to breakthrough. Thanks for the message.
great – now how do you remove the constraint?
Thanks
Izzy
Very insightful, yet so true…..even with a successful business new constraints always occur….looking forward to seeing more….
great video. Tons of good info.
Far too many people are trying to run their businesses as hobbies and not as real businesses, and their letting their constraints dictate how they do things. The simple process of constraint identification can be eye-opening and business-changing for any business, regardless of profession, industry or size.
good
I’d have to say reframing the perceived problems as the symptoms that can point to the actual core issue. Now that is simply brilliant.
My takeaway is that you have to you have to always ask what it is that is really holding you back. Inefficient systems resulting in too few productive hours is a big one.
Rich,
Great video….my biggest takeaway was the fact that the solutions I’m seeking may not solve the true cause of my problems…so simple, yet so true.
Thanks,
Neal
I was reassured to know that all the learning I’ve done to increase my potential has not been wasted, and when I eliminate the constraint that is holding me back right now, I’ll reap the benefit of that increase.
great stuff… again. Thanks so much for the insights.
I can’t wait for my rewards to exceed my efforts. Looks like I’ve got some work to do.
Great video – I don’t always watch videos through to the end (get easily bored by obviously marketing videos!), but this one I did.
It certainly has made me reconsider what my constraints really are – I’m one of the ones who spends money I can’t afford on courses I can’t always understand. I think fear of failure is a main constraint I struggle with, though I feel I’m beginning to conquer it and change my mindset as instructed by all the top people!
Thanks, and looking forward to more great info….
Mary
Good job Rich!
Gained insight into the constraints holding me back! Looking forward to the course.
Hi Rich,
Wow! Great video training lesson on finding and eliminating constraints in your business.
I was glued to my seat watching the video, I learned so much from you guys. My take away from this training lesson was that I need to recognize an eliminate the constraints that’s holding me back from reaching my full potential in my business and marketing.
Ricardo
Hi Rich
Great video, every time I watch one of your videos you always hit at point or key action to what keeps me from my fullest potential.
listing about what you said about con-strength (not sure if that right)but it make so much sense, to know that no matter what course or product you buy out there, that it will not eliminate your con-strength because if the product or course, solved or changed someone’s else life. That doesn’t mean that it will happen to you as to overcome your con-strength to grow your business quicker.
Thanks you for the content… Look forward to future content.
So…I start with the long-tailed-constraints and drill upwards until I get to my main constraint…pure genius.
My take away just saved me mega bucks, because now I will not buy another course until I find out what my # 1 constraint is. Thanks Rich!
Thank you so much for sharing this video and sounds like constraints could be my biggest obstacle. Sounds like you have done your research and have a system to identify, address it and move on to make better decisions and be much more effective. Can’t wait to get this document.
If it can help me, I can also work on the beach and have residual income and better lifestyle to make my dreams come true for me and my family and friends.
Lois
Re- your video
I am seeing the video, but there is no sound, we have tested other sounds and they are working. Please advise.
Wow-Wow-Wow. What a great way to look at my own problems. What is really fantastic is that even though each of us has totally different constraints, the methodology for overcoming these constraints is one systematic method.
Very enlightening. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
Sam
Find the constraint and the root cause of it, then remove the root cause. Simple, but the most difficult thing is finding the constraint on your own.
WOW! This material is useful to me at so many levels! I can see how it can help me to personally find the constraints in my own life and business, but it could also help me help my coaching clients find the constraints in their lives and businesses, too.
I also see how using this information could help me ’sell’ my prospective clients on using my services to eliminate the constraints that are holding the back. So using this info in my sales process.
Thanks kindly, Rich for so much insight – in this video as well as the report.
I’ve been following you since I first developed an interest in Internet marketing, and have found everything you do to be well thought through. Right now I’m working with Yaro and Gideon on the very basics of how to set up a blog, and not with you, because your materials are too advanced for me at my current state of development. But once I’m advanced beyond the basics I’ll be watching you much more intently and enrolling in your programs. I thank you for your inspirational approach, and you’re letting me watch that steel-trap mind of yours in action. Thank you, Sir. -Jim
Hey Rich, you are always overdelivering in your content, really enjoyed this video.
Thanks Guys,
I’ve often realized my lack of success is mostly caused by my own self inflicted constraints… Your words of wisdom will be food for a lot of though and self examination.
Phil
I’ve known the theory for years but from a manufacturing standpoint. I’ve also heard about it from Rich a year ago
BUT
I think only after this video it has truly sunk in. I feel as though I now understand how the theory of constraints if applicable for me. Now. In my endeavours.
Thanks for a great video.
Great video, many course, ebooks, seminars. But what is the one you really need to get going??You helped in getting the answer
Thanks
Bob
My biggest takeaway is Keep it Simple. Small hinges open big doors…
Enjoyed your Video.
The penny has dropped, I need to discover my true constraints rather than chase problem symptoms. (it seems that you were talking about me throughout)
Getting to the true constrain is my current constraint
My #1 take-away…never record outside during the storm season in Florida. Wind, wind, wind kills quality audio.
The #1 universal constraint? Not enough money. Everybody wants MORE.
Seriously, the takeaway is the genius of getting people to comment in order to get a free item. Lots of testimonial comments, lots of people giving you their email, lots of people talking about you and your stuff. Very smart!
I am really excited that I can now take a hard look and spend the resources necessary on my constraint. I am looking forward to the course.
My big takeaway was that I need to take a strategic approach to learning. Rather than devour books, courses and seminars that interest me and feed my insatiable thirst for knowledge, I need to take a five step, “Just in Time” approach to learning:
1. Identify the ROOT of my biggest constraint.
2. Invest ONLY in education that will address that constraint.
3. Apply what I learn so that I can REMOVE that constratint.
4. CELEBRATE the success my business experiences!
5. REPEAT steps 1-4 ad infinitum.
This is a huge, huge, HUGE takeaway for me. Thanks!
Bonnie Jean
This is awesome Rich! Thanks friend!
C.
Great vid! Biggest take-away: Get rid of our business constraints by listing our problems as symptoms and asking why 5 times and figure out the root cause of these symptoms.
When our results exceed our efforts, we’ve found our core constraint.
Repeat as necessary since constraints will always pop-up in business.
Thanks for this video
This video made me think about the fact that I don’t even know what the constraint is that is holding me back
Thanks,
Kevin
Totally awesome video. It opened my eyes
Hello Rich and Todd
Thanks for the great input!
The best take away for me right now is that my primary constraint is most likely that I am bogging myself down with “just in case” learning when I really should be learning by doing.
I hope your course launch meets with the success you undoubtedly deserve!
My biggest takeaway is that the answer lies inside myself. Thanks for this insightful video!
There is one constraint above all others that is holding me back. It’s probably a mindset, and I want to identify and get beyond it.
Great video as I am having concerns where my online business is going these days. These lessons are generally precious gems you can learn with actionable steps.

Thank you Rich, I always blame myself for the lack of progress I’ve made. I know there is more to it than that but don’t know how to go about identifying the key problem(s). I have the knowledge, I have the plan but I’m still talking about it and time keeps slipping away. Perhaps I’ll be able to tackle the issue(s) by getting involved with your release next week. We’ll stay tuned.
Tony
If you work on the most important item in your business, you should move ahead – the trick is knowing what the item is.
refresh idea on the productivity in this video, you need watch it if you really care delivery and keep good balance between life and job.
Wow “Dr.” Schefren,
You are a real Internet Wizard. Now I know why they call you the Guru of Gurus and Mentor of Mentors.
Some “mini gurus” will charge lots of money for this content you are giving away for free, yet it is so informative and educational.
Thanks for this product. I will be silly not to get in.
Augustine
It is a very unique approach to the business. I am still trying to get my momentum so I will use it. Thank you
My take-away is that some, if not most, “brickwalls” should be either removed or avoided rather than attempting to break through them by ever harder head butting ;-)
Thanks, Rich!
After spending hours watching videos, listening to audio, reading and rereading ebooks and taking courses, I am still confused as to what will actually work. This video made sense to me. Identify your constraints. Concentrate on getting insight into what is holding me back. Excellent!!
Just watching you relax in your chair on the beach was enough to convince me to examine what I’m doing. You have such unique insights that get to the heart of the problems instead of wasting time and effort dwelling on the symptoms. Great video!
Yesterday is a memory.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
This was a gift…
Hi,
Great video. Made huge sense to think of constraints holding back our success. Lots of what you say is familiar, thinking about it in a different context was a huge ‘aha’ moment.
Thanks for the “rich” well of info — lots to think about here.
Have to do some serious digging to uncover my constraint. Look forward to trying the 5 Why’s.
You made a comment that hits me where I am right now. You said something to the effect that, “it could be a constraint to think you need to learn before doing, when you should learn while doing. That was a big confirmation of something I have been suspecting for a while now. Thanks,
Jim
Brilliant!
Biggest take away…
When you write 30 pages and you get $3, you might not be on the right track and you need to look at your constraints.
But when you write 30 pages and you get $3 million you have eliminated a $3 million dollar constraint. I wonder how much my constraints are costing me?
I look forward to doing the Why-5 Worksheet and find out.
I think I might be wasting time strengthening the wrong links.
As someone who has definitely spent way to much money and time increasing my potential, and not getting the results I expected, this video was very eye opening. Thank you.
Biggest takeaway: False Efficiency = work on anything that is not my #1 constraint to reaching my full potential.
WARNING: Whatever you do, don’t write that on a post-it note and stick it on your monitor!
It never occurred to me that it could be just ONE thing holding me back from full potential. But it makes complete sense. I also like the comparison of the symptom(s) of a constraint with the symptoms of the flu…Although the flu does go away after a while if you just take cold medicine & deal with it ;-).
Just takes longer.
It was interesting hearing you talk about constraints in that we need to get to the core of the problem, not the symptom. What we sometimes think is our constraint really isn’t.
Good information … I found the video very interesting.
You have to get to the root of the problem, and not focus on the symptoms as much!
I have had some big breakthroughs before seeing your stuff, but now you really have me thinking how much more I can do.
Thanks
I’ve worked in manufacturing for my dad and was first introduced to T.O.C. (Theory Of Constraints) years ago.
But it wasn’t until listening to you that I fully grasped the fact that T.O.C. should be used in every aspect of not only business but life as well.
Thanks for great video. I’m asking the right question, need to dig deeper to find my answers. The good thing is – there is hope!
I do a lot of business valuation and online business valuations are heavily impacted by the absence or presence of traffic that converts to transactions. Therefore, many people default to the belief that the lack of traffic is THE problem. It was really great to hear you discuss how that is NEVER THE problem, it is just a symptom. If the root cause is fixed, the traffic is there and that means the value of the online business will increase.
Very insightful. I want more!
Thanks,
Shane
Business owners can come up with many problems, but if you keep asking yourself, “why?” there’ll eventually be a convergence to the core problem. I also really liked Just In-time Learning and the idea that just because an infoproduct addressed the constraint of a testimonial giver has no bearing on whether that infoproduct will address your key constraint. Great work, Rich, as usual.
G.R.E.A.T
Great video Rich!
You helped me identify 2 gigantic constraints:….
1.Not staying focused long enough on any one thing
to see results, before moving on to something else.
2.Not having a strong enough network.
Thanks,
Ron
Symptoms aren’t the basic problem. Simple but brilliant.
Thanks and looking forward to more info. about how to “diagnose” my constraint(s).
Hi,
Great video. You are right that the trafic is not the problem. We have 80,000 unique visitors a day … Very challenging to take all the problmes and consider them simptoms…
Thank you for the great content.

Feeling very relief after watching the video.
This is really a cool video.
Thanks Rich for really enlighten us!
Very Good Video, it seems you guys are familiar with Eli Goldratts Theory of Constraints thought processes.
I wasn’t able to watch the entire video, but I got the core message. I agree 100%! We’re always treating the symptoms, and not the illness. As someone who helps others with their marketing, this is a great wake-up call. Thank you! – cv
awesome video, certainly makes me rethink what’s the true constrain of my business!
“…making any link but the weakest link stronger is a false efficiency….”
WORTH REPEATING…
“…making any link but the weakest link stronger is a false efficiency….”
While I already am familiar with Eli’s Theory of Constraints, it reminded me that I’m not 100% clear about our greatest constraint – and how critical knowing that is. Thank you.
Great video Rich and Stephen
I learned alot from the video
my answers were 3 no’s. I still cannot pin down
my constraints. Hard to figure what is a symtom or a constraint
Will stay close to the rest of your teachings

Thanks for this great content.
The biggest takeaway is that I need to shift into the “someone has a need I can fill” mindset. Market research, market research, market research!
Hi Rich,
Thank you for the video.
It’s an eye opening information that you have given. I have probably spend well over thousand of $$$$$ to learn and try thinks that i don’t know or thought will help the business.
but i guess i was wrong and i need to look into my self and ask what is that i am doing wrong that holding my business and me back.
looking forward to more video and to get info about GPS 2.0
thanks for giving such great information.
Yogi.
Wow, this all sounded SO familiar.
After hearing the word “constraints” so many times, I realized this was about the bottlenecks I read of in the book ‘The Goal’, by Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt. I read this book twice (!) years ago & I’m now looking to reread it again. I also remember the concept of asking the 5 Whys. Having these concepts applied Internet/affiliate market is genius. I’m starting to look at my business in a different way, although I can’t figure this out & focus on all on my own.
This has given me hope that I can get out of this hole I’ve dug myself into & look forward to the direction to be provided June 11th!
Thanks!
Racing Ready Dan
“Go from wannabe racer to successful racing competitor!”
excellent video. Relabel your problems as symptoms. . . hmmm . that shifts the thought processes.
Hey great video content, and the best part it was free. I can imagine how great the GPS will be. Rich your definitley helping me think better about myself, and my business.
Thanks
I’m constrained and didn’t even know it!
Hi, Great video. This is really good. And beautiful beach.
Thanks, Rich! You just pointed out and explained to my weaknesses. After your explanation, all became clear and understandable. Now I just have to find strength to cope with weak …
Now realizing the obvious problems in our business are symptoms it is making me look much deeper to identify constaints. I believe I found one but I don’t know if Rich would agree. Thank you very much.

Thank you for the discussion on constaints and moving forward to realize a business goal.
I appreciate you coaching and willingness to help neohytes in the internet marketing industry.
The big takeaway for me is to find out on what to focus first, to set priorities.
Hi Rich,
First take-away, the great conversation on the beach. I just finished my first youtube with a fellow coach inviting people to the first ICF conference here in Romania, so it is about being relaxed in the nature and go with the flow.
Second is that as you pointed out, I may be stuck at 6 figures level because I do not employ more people to help me grow my business. In other words I am to much in my business, need work on my business( yes Michael Gerber)
Good job, I will be in Florida in the second week of December, would be nice to meet you in person.
Cheers,
Serban
Awesome. Hopefully I can work out my restraints before my next launch!!
I have no clue why my efforts aren’t rewarded and what my constraints are. I don’t know if your GPS or free report will even help as I feel like I know my business well and it’s always feast or famine (and by feast I’m only talking about blue collar wages at best and famine is “in debt”) – seo – on page – off page? Site design? Call to action? Wrong business? I have no clue maybe you can help but I feel the pangs of doubt – that’s not to say that I won’t do my very best again tomorrow – I will.
symptoms are not the constraint.
Great stuff, Rich, as always.
Sometimes we can be too close to something to see the real problem. This applies very much to our own businesses. Stepping away or letting someone else take a fresh look can make a big difference.
Hi Guys,
Great video. Always so much info to take in. By watching this I figured out what main main weakness is and am doing something about it right this minute.
Cheers
Lou
I am trying to find my constraint(s). I have increased my potential to a higher level than my income represents.
I realize I am the bottleneck. I am sure that habits are merely a symptom.
Very interesting.
Having an effective and consistent lead generation/sales process is my big take away.
Good recap and reminder of what’s important and where to focus.
Identifed alot of my contraints Thank you Rich
Really nice video, I shall try to figure out my constraint but my constraint is causing me to not earn enough money so I can’t afford to take your course. I’m in a catch 22 situation and I think that is my major constraint or maybe thats just a symptom – I’m not really sure?
Wow! Well for me it was as simple as realising that I am not alone in my lack of action and mass of knowledge. Being the avid multi-tasker trying to kill off this lifetime habit is something holding me at bay. I have the vision, even have the business plan, just cannot get to the root of why the action is not happening – but am aware enough to know that it’s only me holding up the progress, no-one else – just me! Doh!!!
I realise that there are many symptoms of what is not working well enough yet in our business and they tend to change over time. I will definitely start using the 5 why’s and look deeper to find the constraint(s). Thank you
Graham Constantine
Kinda spooky. I oftentimes find myself skimming an article or watching a video that is Not providing me the actual information I was looking for, but since the subject of them said it was to be that information, I waste my time continuing because “Just In Case”.
While watching your video I felt like it was “Just In Time” because of a constraint I’ve been fighting with a long time, and I felt more empowered to overcome it.
THEN, watching the video further, I ‘found’ that I was probably completely off-base? That most of us don’t really know our constraints?
Thanks very much.
By the way, at first this really was a ‘just in case’ video because it seems that on so many sites amazonaws constantly stops, pauses, and sometimes stops for good.
1. Goldratt is genius
2. Must buy GPS 2.0 …
… or
not.
So a constraint is holding me back from success? What a relief, but now what is my constraint? Argh. Out of the frying pan, into the fire.
Interesting, as usual !
WOW.
Identifying the constraint and eliminating it is what many of us consultants do for our clients on underlying problems. We never go to the top level and drive down by asking why.
I have been so caught up in situation solving that I never got down to the real constraint. It goes for business and personal issues. Thanks
This is great stuff Rich.
nice one – very helpful :-)
I just cancelled my order for my last so called answer to my problems from a big Guru, because as you said no sense buying unless you know the why’s. You just saved me $25,000. I’ll be there first in line for your course…..thanks for the video.
Thank you for enterpreneurship lesson, Rich.
For me as a former tennis and golf teaching pro this was interesting, but nothing new. In my experience there is one huge factor you did not mention: fear. Fears are holding people back to reach their full potential and to overcome their constraints. Only identifying problems, address and solve them sounds easy, but the psychological aspect how to deal with that is the real task. The human brain is a rather complex battlefield, not only a “do this and you get that” object. In my experience, most of my students paid me LOTS OF MONEY for lessons in order to improve their game, but I found out, that they only said (and really believed!) they want to get better, and they actually did not! To some of them I opened doors to their mind and they did not like what they found out there, their real potential, and full of fear turned around and insisted (subconsciously) on going on with the same old shit all their life long. That’s the same with business or anything else in life. There are not so many people, who own the mental abilities to overcome their fears, and really do what they mean and mean what they do …
Hey, am I writing an eBook here or what?? ;~))—-
Dan from Germany, sorry for my lousy Krautenglish.
Great Video presentation. Thank you for reminding us that symptoms of problems do not equate to the Source (your word: constraints) of the problem. There may be many apparent (or not so apparent) symptoms, but only one (or a few) source(s)/constraint(s) preventing progress. Inherent Simplcity is expressed by awareness at each stage.
Thanks Rich for the video.
You stopped me doing more and more research. I just started writing the program I had in my head after watching the video.
I’m ready to start my membersite (the first two months), all this in just one day.
Thanks, Ronny
Hey Rich,
Another great insight. I’ve been recommending your reports to countless people, but this video took me back to my days in manufacturing, processing sand for the civil construction industry where we graphed our production processes to locate and identify our constraints. I just never thought to apply the same process to other areas of my life. Thankyou.
A cloud has parted
Thanks for the awesome video, the idea of “Treat the source of the problem, not the symptoms”, really makes sense, and until now, what i was doing as quite the opposite, so i hope from now on i achieve the success i’ve been waiting for.
Thanks!
This seems similar to training I had in Total Quality Management (TQM) years ago, which used principals of people like Edward Deming. His ideas were not embraced by the US industry, but they were by Japenese industry, who then moved forward leaps and bounds. The principles of problem solving can be used for anything. I had never, until now, considered using it for my internet business. Thanks for that.
Hello
I felt I was an outlier – different. I almost felt like keeping my site going as a hobby – just ticking over and have a go at clickbank or e-book millionairishness – whatever…. After
seeing this refreshing view – I can see I have to do a lot of asking why….. or maybe the e-books would lie unread in the same WWWilderness as are my two books proper.
One constraint I have identified is spending masses of time
trying to work out a complex matrix of things to do – rather than just getting stuck in. One remark you made really struck home… “people think they have to learn how to be a certain way – then DO it.” whereas DOING it and learning on the way is far more productive. Obviously I have paraphrased….
When you need to do something a way can be found – as they say ‘necessity is the mother of invention’. Also when you are going something you are by default BEing the role….as any mother will tell you. So it’s Do> Be> Have rather than have> be> do.
If only one could feel the need. Have you noticed less and less people are impressed with the car/s, the house/s and the lifestyle/s (and all the paperwork that paces the obligations) than with the position and responsibility money brings. I’ve noticed a lot of name-dropping lately – people you may meet & send you a fancy invite.
Once you have all the money what now? What’s the dream?
I guess you can tell I’m in favour of action – and on that point schedule and community are the two key points to any programme that’s going to whip me into shape :-)
thanks again for your time and the whacky way you chose to share your wisdom including so gracefully the planes, cars and bulldozers. ;-)
Jackie
Thank you Rich,
When you speak, making money on-line becomes believable.
Jose
Great Advise Rich! I’m already looking to find what is holding me back, which are my constrains. I hope I can find them and push my business to the next level. Thank you for all the information and advise you give away for free.
Thanks Rich,
This course will possibly reveal why I am getting so many click throughs and opt-ins but with negligible conversion.
May be I am about to find out what I have been doing wrong all along.
Bring it on Rich, think I can handle it!
Gus
Rich
Why why why why why, have I not taken one of your courses. Hoping to get the trickle effect from guys like Mike Filsame, Alex Jeffreys, and Michael Cheney I suppose.
They have all talked about constraints, none as effectively as you in this video. Amazing information you have cast a spotlight upon. I will set forth trying to identify my main constraint without delay.
Thank you
for the insight.
Thomas
Thanks. It was helpful.
What is the tool, the methodology? How do I grow my niches, then the business in those niches?
Hi Rich,
thanks a lot.
Biggest takeaway: Search inside and go for the throat.
Let it flow
Volker
PS: The wind sucked, pardon me, distracted and made your message a bit blurry.
Hello Rich,
That was a wonderful and very insightful video.
Yes I now understand that you need to look at the root of the problem which makes all the sense.
Thanks for the information.
The root of the constraint….. Hmmm yes thanks for the video. It certainly opens you up to looking at things from a different perspective.
I’ve read The Goal by Goldratt and know the power of working on constraints.
The Boy Scout group only moves as fast as the slowest walker.
I’d like you to talk about others speak to how we need to focus on our strengths, not build up our weaknesses.
Thank you,
Tom
I really need to spend more time thinking about what my constraint is and I am glad that I am not the only one that has this problem!
My biggest takeaway is the difference between symptoms and the problem. Now I’m going to take a more wholistic approach when determining wahts the first priority I need to take care in my business instead of chasing after the symptoms.
I’m going to give this alot more thought. Explains frustration.
Hi Rich, thanks for the video. My biggest takeaway is the part where you said many people are just increasing their potential by going for more seminars but their results don’t follow because they have not removed their constraint.
I have been reading internet marketing materials for 3 years now. After spending so much on ebooks, courses and seminars, I have only started a little blog. Needless to say I’m very frustrated with myself.
I’m not sure where my constraint is, it could be the mindset that I must get it right the first time. Or maybe its the mindset that I’m not an expert in anything so I’m not qualified to sell anything. Or the mindset that if I want fast results I must sell those clickbank “magic button” ebooks (which I won’t do because it defies my conscience).
I really don’t know what’s my constraint, and I’m soooo frustrated!
Wow,Rich,it’s so eye-opening!
Looks like taking the symptoms for problems has been my long-time constaraint in its own right!
Now your video’s going to save me the money I now won’t spend on the expensive IM courses and programs that don’t address my personal constraints. Finally,I got the criterion I can evaluate my potential investments by before I splash my time or money on anything. INVALUABLE!!!
Just hope GPS 2.0 will be affordable for me.
Best,
Paul
simply learning what others do only helps if it fits the situation at hand. that’s what people often seem to forget or overlook. information never is a solution, and often it creates new problems. info marketers are accountable for this misconception because they hype their stuff in such a way that theirs seems to be the solution to any problem. and somehow you did, too, Rich.
with the constraints you are up to something extremely useful. it’s applicable to a wide range of business situations, from manufacturing to market segmentation. Eliyahu Goldratt has shown this with his Theory of Vonstraints (1984) and his insightful “business novel” ‘The Goal’, etc. recommended read because it’s educational.
we need to learn how to solve problems. and it starts with the diagnosis which means detecting the core problem or cause of superficial or seemingly unrelated problems. this holds in business, political and personal life as well. the theory of constraints is a very useful method that helps us in achieving this.
the excellent advisor doesn’t tell us what to do but helps us find out.
cheers,
Sir Hendrix
Good job emphasizing the constraint identification issue.
However, knowing what is the problem is a good start but does not necessarily implies an immediate solution.
Let’s say the constraint is a mindset issue.
Identifying it is a good beginning but how to change that particular mindset may require an effective solution blueprint and a tremendous amount of work.
So my question is:
Is the course designed to help identify your business constraint only or does it offer a realistic blueprint to solve the most typical constraints identified.
Thanks
great question shak! GPS gives you both.
GPS is designed to both surface and then SOLVE your constraints.
so, pay careful attention to the case studies we will be releasing so you can better understand how.
Rich I learned a lot from this video I will now work on the constraints and there elimanation Gave me a new perspective on how to look at my business.
A good video.
I agree, you can spend a lot of money increasing your potential, but unless you remove some of the barriers, your success will be dramatically less that it would otherwise have been.
Nice video – thanks.
Bobby
Thanx Rich,
Mindblowing info……
Really want to get started with this!!!
Hey Rich,
Here’s my biggest take away, the constraint is usually a restrictive mindset and is very specific, overcoming it therefore involves a shift in mindset – something you’re not likely to get from a course, even a good one. You have greatly reduced my desire to buy courses as a result. Thanks!
Tim.
Hello Mr. Schefren,
My first and biggest takeaway was the easiness of the presentation. That’s how should it be when you know your stuff.
The second one is the revelation that I should change my working style. Learning by doing would be better and more profitable for me. Life is short.
The third it is the fact that as nobody can be a prophet in its own country, if you want a true radiography of your business, you can have it only from an objective outsider—preferably a pro—who’s vision is not blurred by emotions and attachments to things and people within your company.
That’s obvious.
Sincerely,
Emeric
very cool video
It’s amazing, I work with people on success in many different areas of life and use this technique but this video has really clarified what I do, thanks for the insight . Now I’ve got to use it on me
My two biggest take-aways are:
1. No single program or training will work for everyone because each of us has different constraints.
2. To find your greatest success you need to eliminate your biggest constraint.
I never thought of it like that very insightful
Thanks Rich,
Mindblowing info……
My biggest takeaway is the difference between symptoms and the problem.
Really want to get started with this!!!
I can’t wait for your “Five-Why Formula” Simplified Worksheet
Jean
Wow, I have to admit I knew my main constraint but was ignoring it – no more, I’m off to fix it now!
Next constraint is the video cuts out 10 mins before the end, I feel like a kid having to wait for the end of their favorite bedtime story – what happens? Please fix it ASAP I’m despirate to know the ending!
…real desire to see and realize clarity; and the need for it…
Very interesting video.
The need to reevaluate how the business actually is done today … in order to grow tomorrow …
It started with the questions below the video and the video built on that, just asking the right questions, looking at the reasons, not the (unsatisfying) results. Thanks for this!
Wow, great video. Something I think many of us subconsciously know, but haven’t been able to verbalize
While I have felt so much of what you said, especialy what is holding me back and spending so much time and effort and not seeing results, I have realized that I do have to simplify. Going into so many directions and listening to so many others who have different ways/philosophies to succeed but may not be for me. My strategy must be to narrow down to one thing versus running in all different directions and wasting precious time and money as it is NOT working for me at all. Looking forward to learning more. Thanks!
Rich, Once again you remind us of the “best practices” that generate success. Processes and Systems help identify the root cause not just the effect, save time and generate success. Every business segment should practice what you are preaching.
Thanks for helping us discover the path to success and help us all get off the winding road.
Cherio!
Barbara
THANK YOU Rich,
I have been struggling (off and on) for over two years trying to get into (read: profit from) I.M.
It is a very different road than I have been traveling my whole working life, but this video made me realize the parallels: J.I.T., 5 why’s, Cause and Effect… THIS IS ‘LEAN’ – I know this stuff!
While I learned some of it using different terminology it amounts to the same thing. I can apply what I know rather than learning what others say I should know.
Again,
Thank You Rich
Just in time learning was the big ahah. For a learnaholic it was quite sobering.
I have read dozens of how to eBooks, taken course after course, but it didn’t occur to me until watching your video that I need to look inside and find what is holding me back. My biggest obstical, it seems, is me.
Thanks for the excellent video.
Awesome video Rich. Very insightful.
For every problem there’s a root cause and you’ll get nowhere treating the symptoms (as modern medicine often does… *sigh*) … and the root is most likely within yourself, or a flaw in your systems.
Looking forward to whatever you’re going to sell me on, lol.
Peace.
Linus ‘lemonarian’ Rylander

Thanks Rich!
Love that you are presenting this to the market as core issues are the only blockages that we have that stop us from realizing our potential and truth. Awesome presentation.
It’s a simple … yet powerful idea … that a single constraint can be holding you and your business back from achieving massively different results.
And … I’m willing to bet that in most cases … the REAL constraint is not what the business owner initially thought it was.
Can’t wait to hear/see more … great video!
Hi Rich,
My take away is,
A whole new way to look at life and business.
Thanks amillion, take care, Ken…
WOW – great job Rich! This is one of the most powerpacked hours I’ve spent online for a long time. Obviously I’ve discovered something I must dig deeper to resolve – my constraint – looking forward to the release. Thanks for the insight.
Pat
Great takeaways – different.
I found the information awsome, but of couse you knew that. I just wish I had not wasted so much time and money on all the other courses I got involved in first. I’ll be checking out the new 2.0 in the up-coming days. This was really informative in more areas than just business.
THANK YOU.
Harry
The difference between just-in-time learning and just-in-case learning is a simple, powerful and — in retrospect — obvious one that, I suspect, is a strong clue to my own current constraint.
Thank you, Rich,
Carlos Accioly
The point I take most from the video is in terms of traffic. I was convinced traffic would be the number one reason why internet business does not take off. I learned instead there are barriers I need to face, first figure out and then overcome. Thank you for allowing me to realize I need to analyze my situation to figure out whats holding me back. I look forward to receiving the “Five-Why Formula” Simplified Worksheet that may help me further on my endeavor.
Thanks again, God Bless!!
Dupe
Mind opening video!
While watching the video i got the feeling i knew what i have to do from now on. I think that’s my constraint: stop the Just-in-case-Learning and start the Just-in-time-Learning instead.
Take action!
Thank you for your great breakthroughs.
Carlos (Spain)
WOW! Rich you are amazing! Great definition of constraints. I realize that I do have constraints.
Chris
This opened a whole new thinking which I believe was needed. I am one who bought products, but my problems were not solved immediately by them until I found the constraint you are talking about…. very cool stuff.
After watching your video, the most important concept I got out of it was to find out more about who you are, what GPS is and to finally think about what my constraints are. I never really thought of that. What an eye-opener to a semi-newbie. Now, after reading your sales letter on GPS, I can’t wait to learn more about ANY program that you have developed. I’m glad that you are going to open GPS again, at least that is what your sales letter says. One more point, in your sales letter there is one sentence that stuck out for me and that is #3 where it says “Breaking the number 1 constraint: Information overload. Once you know how to do this, making money hand over fist gets easier than failing!” This will be my #1 constraint to get over. Looking forward to reading the worksheet “Five-Why Formula”.
I was in the amazing, challenging GPS pilot progam and if you are seriously looking at setting yourself up for ‘break-through’ opportunity not only for running your business but in all aspects of your life, GPS is unlike any other program you have encountered. It, also, is one of the most difficult you will ever engage in – it’s brutal, but invigorating. Tough to the core, but capable of bringing the log-jams of your life out into the open so the solutions become clearer. To that, sorry folks – there just not quick-fix to this kind of stuff.
If you listened to this video and are looking through all these comments for a bit of social proof, let me just say this: If you can afford it, you must do it. If you can not, don’t push it – be smart, be strategic, be in solutions-oriented mindset. More great news, too! You have (free) options. Re-read the “Uncertainty” report AND all of Rich’s other reports, re-watch this video work your takeaway(s) into your life and other online resources from him(there’s other videos out there) and you can be on your way forward.
My main takeaway is still the problems one has in your business are symptoms of lacking systems and clarity. Root causes for these problems can be tough to un-cover but once they are, the solutions are easier to see and take action on. I have no doubt: The benefits of the GPS program will accrue deep into my life. It’s an opinion but I do believe it as I have experienced it: There few visionaries in the online marketing world than Rich Schefren capable of breaking business owners to exponential breakthroughs, especially when it comes to business systems.
Bruce
What if the constraints are outside your business, such as the economy? And, often constraints are caused by the emotions of the website owner. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
Excellent – proves the power of distinguishing the cause from the effects, the power of importing strategies from the outside and certainly and most importantly shifting from increasing potential to increasing results and success. Thanks!
After watching this video, I stepped back and started asking myself the right questions…”Why? Why? and why?” as it relates to my Outdoor Living Furniture site.
I have been so obsessed with it and information overload that I have not looked deeper into the “why”. Looking forward to the work sheet.
Bill D
Thanks,
The heart analogy made the message sink in. I’m looking forward to identify exactly what has held me back.
James
I recognize the need for your well thought out strategic hierarcy in identifying and resolving specific constraints , from which problems manifest . Hopefully I’m paralelling accurately interpreting constraiants as business prosperity and success restraints . My understanding from your really informative and very enlightening video is , in order to reach full business potential I must eliminate exsisting problems by identifying and eradicating specific constraints . Siegman Freud would most certainly applaude you ! For the purpose of simplifying practical application I would appreciate a copy of your much needed tool to assist me in getting through my uncertainty syndrome . I’ve been connecting the dots as you say , putting pieces of puzzle together by trial and error for quite sometime now ! this could be the missing piece of the puzzle that manifests my defining molment !? Thanks for the structured constraint eradication tool . Much prosperity and success to you and yours .
Hi Rich,
I don’t recall how I got introduced your website but it is one those site I like to keep. I totally agree with your video getting rid off the source that causing many of these symptoms i have faced since day one in pursuing my online business. Thanks.
Thanks! Very insightful. Removing just one constraint can open up the floodgates…
I really thought my only problem was not enough traffic but now you’ve got me rethinking that position.
Thanks,
Ray
When your efforts exceed your results then you have your opportunity to determine your contraint. conversely, when your results exceed your efforts you are on the right path. most elegant and simple way to understand the issue. thank you
WOW! That’s really got me thinking, I’ve felt like I have a constraint for along time now but don’t know what it is and have been trying to solve all the other areas around it trying to force myself forward, I need to get to the core problem.
Thank You
Great content as usual Rich !
After such a content, no need to say that i’m really looking forward the worksheet.
Thanks guys !
Nice coaching video… It’s interesting what removing constraints can do for your business
Great video, Rich! I am my own biggest constraint. Need to change mindset pronto. Thanks for the wakeup call.
My biggest take away? What’s holding me back isn’t something on the outside; it’s inside my business and it’s totally within my control. I’ll take that even a step further: what’s holding me back is inside ME, a limiting belief, fear, insecurity or other obstacle keeping me from acknowledging and addressing that constraint.
Rich, your message is simple and profound, a great challenge for all of us. Thanks.
Rich,
Excellent Video!
I like the no-nonsense/no excuses approach. (not enough traffic to my site……)
Something to think about in life and business
Thank You
Hi Rich,
Great video. What is holding me back is within myself,
limiting beliefs, self defeating habits, fear of success. These
are all things I am now working on. You are an inspiration
Thank you.
I immediately applied the 5 why’s.
The biggest effect that i had was that i didn’t earn the kind of money i wanted in the time that i wanted.
1. Why? – Because people didn’t buy my stuff!
2. Why they didn’t buy my stuff?
2.1 – I didn’t targeted the right crowd!
2.2. – They didn’t perceived enough value in order to buy!
2.3. – They didn’t have $$$
3.1. Why i didn’t target the right crowd? – Low prosperity consciousness – I just hit it in the head
4.1. Why i had a low prosperity consciousness? – because of my old low prosperity consciousness beliefs!
5.1. Why did i had this old low prosperity consciousness beliefs? – Mostly from my old environment!
6. What beliefs do i choose to have in order to change that?
I deserve to have it all! People are happy to pay me $$$ because i solve their biggest constraint or satisfy their biggest desire.
3.2. Why they didn’t perceived enough value? – Because i didn’t understood them appropriately so i couldn’t give them what they wanted.
4.2. Why I didn’t understood them correctly? – I didn’t really listened to what their words meant!
5.2. Why I didn’t truly listen to what they wore saying and to what their words meant? – I didn’t wanted to hear that because i was stuck in my head and old limiting low conscious beliefs and I was “safe” manifesting the old problems because I already knew how to deal with that, with the lack of money, and super hero status of how I managed to survived and shit like that!
6.2.1. How can i listen better? – Ask better questions. Understand the meaning. Think of a solution for them! Ask them if that’s appropriate and if yes how much will they pay for that.
6.2.2. What they really want? i’m going to find out from 6.2.1
3.3. (they didn’t had the $$$) :))) Why did you target that?
:))) Off course dude!!!! now you get it!!!
Fired up guys! Now i’m going to earn some huge $$$$!!!
Seee ya on the world beaches and personal efficiency, success & fulfillment stages!!!
Alex Tita Here! From Romania! You’ll here a lot of great stuff from me in the future!
http://www.twitter.com/alextita
P.S. Hey Rich! I appreciate from the bottom of my heart what you’re doing and what & who you are and what you represent! I appreciate your take on stuff! You make a better world for all of us! And i desire only the best for you!
Fired up man!!!!! See ya in the future!
“What you are speaks so LOUD that i can’t hear what you are saying!” Covey i believe said that!
Rich, you are a great person and you really care! I appreciate that! Bye!
Using your priority system to overcome obstacles and “strengthen the chain” is great bit of insight.
Thanks for an inspiring talk with the ring of truth – it applies to all fields of human endeavour, including weight loss.
Hey Rich – love your insight on being more effective in business… whether online for off, this information really get’s you thinking about things that should be obvious. Bad habits are not only hard to break, but impossible to see at times. Seeing the forest through the trees requires taking a step back and really being thoughtful and honest with yourself to discover what your constraints are. Thanks for the valuable information and strategies to get positive results immediately.
My biggest takeaway from this is the need to identify the constraint not the symptom. The term just-in-time learning was another thing that may help more than just myself. It is true, I think most try and learn everything first when in fact you learn better by doing. That was an enlightening interview.
Thanks BIGTIME,
Leiif
Rich,
I think my biggest take away from this great video was that trying to copy someone else’s methodology, what made them successful, does not necessarily mean that I will be successful because we are all unique and have our own constraints.
Thank you
I am trying to apply internet marketing techniques to help my hotel business. You have helped me refocus on the main objective. I was getting overwhelmed by gurus and the courses they are selling.
Really enjoyed this and the Entrepreneurial Emergency.
Thanks for providing some missing links in the chain…
Rich,
Very insightful video. I especially liked the results/effort distinction.
Interesting to think that in many cases people are working on the wrong stuff and that that can be readily substantiated by the results they get relative to the effort they expend. More importantly, that same formula can be used as a means of accurately determining when someone is working on an actual constraint.
I also appreciated the self-diagnostic “why” question process. It’s something we all too often fail to do in analyzing not only the areas we’re underperforming in, but also those areas where we may be experiencing great success.
All in all, 60 minutes of time well spent. Thanks for sharing.
Doug
Thanks Rich,
Like you said, ‘Liberating but Frustrating’!
Drilling down through the symptoms is a simple concept but not so easy in execution.
Much food for thought.
Thanks
Biggest takeaway:
The Mike Filsaime example. His biggest constraint was his actual line of thinking of not wanting an actual office with employees.
That one really resonated.
Thanks Rich
The drill down what enlightening (Ask “WHY?” five times to get to the real source of the issue. I intend to apply it next week.
Thanks, Don
Thanks for all the great info you’re providing, Rich.
My biggest constraint is trying to learn everything and not taking enough action. So when you elaborated on the difference between ‘just in case learning’ and ‘just in time learning’ it was a huge AHA moment. I knew that was a problem for me, but hearing it in those terms really put it into perspective. It’s nice to hear all that knowledge isn’t wasted, but I will definitely be rethinking the amount of info I take in from now on.
Awesome stuff!
The beach was a great setting for the video–made me feel right at home…
I think my BIGGEST takeaway is to eliminate the “Just in Case” learning and only focus on the “Just in Time” learning.
This is certainly a great concept to only learn things as you need them.
I must say that this is one of the best FREE 1 hour coaching sessions I have seen.
Great Stuff Again Rich
Thankyou
Asking the “5 whys” question was what clarified the process for me. Thanks!
Great Video! I have tons of potential and do not know what my constraint is to doing business online. I have been a skilled self-employed individual for 25 years now and have not been able to convert my business aptitude offline to online. Can’t figure it out. So this video has given me some insight into why this is happening.
Morrover i have to go for some trening so that i well be mor profiationa in fime arctingsop haw can i go for this ?
Wow Thanks Rich and Bob!
Rich, You’ve cracked the Code Again… my take away is to drill down to the core reason WHY my business is being held back… And isolating the True CAUSES (aka weak Links) in My Chain of Operations…
And By Being HONEST with my findings and applying Just-In-Time Knowledge/Resource Solutions instead of Just-In-Case Knowledge “stuff clogging-the-way” delaying removal of my Constraints in Businesses as well as Life!
I’m getting their guys… Thank You for all of the Valuable Info you’ve generously given away to us over the last 203 Years Rich!
All the Best!
Derrick Ali
great insights.
Good stuff, always learn something from the theory of constraints. you guys are “knowers-doers.” do be do be do. thank you. jim
Great, great info!!!
And you are so right… I can get so frustrated when I’m ALLOWING myself to get drawn into activities that make me look busy, but will not produce results… Identify those activities, eliminate them (or pay someone else to do them) and focus on income-generating activities.
Thanks!
…
Also thanks for helping me appreciate my Beaufort, SC beach better. We do not have airplaines flying over us, nor buldozers or other noises… It’s just us and the ocean (and only a few of us ’cause most locals do not swim out of principle). My kids even got to skinny dip many times, since we were the only ones on the beach.
Great Video – Thanks!
Another piece of great content effectively communicated. It’s critical to focus on the one weakness that’s holding you back than the millions of strategies that others are doing but don’t need in your business now!
Thank again,
Alex
I’m a firm beliver in constant education… not the type you get from classrooms but the type you can gleam from real-world experiences. I’m familiar with TOC planning, but I never thought of applying it to business management and marketing. That’s the first gem I pulled from the video. The second gem was the simple comparison of “just in case” learning vs. “just in time” learning. I do a lot of “just in case” learning…. Time to evaluate.
Really got me thinking. First reaction was not enough time, but then I heard Rich say it’s not what you think it is…..
My biggest takeaway from the video was the bit about Fake Efficiency. I am very guilty of this. I work tirelessly, but don’t get anywhere near the results I should be getting because I have not yet identified my core constraint. I am now asking myself “why” repeatedly and will soon have this problem licked — hopefully:-)
Great job as usual, Rich.
Gail
wow I am stunned. Lots to think about.
