    Hey guys,
Great video, and interestingly I’ve both focused on coached on some of these points often over the years. I think some of the things people really miss is the measurements of success and how to quantify them, how to take solid first steps with marketing to determine cost of acquisition without breaking their budget (many people fail at this one.) and how to understand the time and timing of these shifts in business growth stages.

I think you did an excellent overview in this video, and I’ll look forward to the next one.

    All the best!

    Thank you.

“Just in Case” learning has been a huge resource drain for me and I’ve never heard it expressed in such a clear way or maybe my mind was just right for it. Major “aha” for me.

Rich, thank you for helping me see that my energy is needed today for the next most important step for what my business needs NOW; Not what it may need somewhere down the road.

I so much appreciate the expression of how making things serve everyone involved and be a growing benefit for founder, partner, employee and customer alike, is the mutually rewarding practice that leads to much greater success than if activity only benefits a few in the equation.

…and the clarity of ‘why work so hard to develop all the systems and processes until you’ve proven the market really wants and accepts your “Big Idea”?’

Know clearly exactly what stage of the process you are in your business, and focus on the appropriate activity for THAT stage. Not expending precious energy trying to execute strategies that are best suited for a different stage of your progress.

It’s so clear how these concepts lead to great efficiency and greater results.

Finally, Thanks for the workout tip – I’ve had that out of order as well. This was certainly a valuable time investment for me. Thank you.

Yes, I agree, “just in case” is a huge drain on resources. In fact, even restraining yourself from doing 10 projects at the same time is a serious effort. I am supposed to work on a product right now, instead got distracted to editing my profile on eZineArticles, and now watching tis video (excellent, granted, but not what I am supposed to do now…) I certainly should work on “when” part of WHW.

You guys a little hot out there today?

I’d like to hear a little more about how you groom your staff, and how to intelligently vest them in your business.

Re: “Founder Video #3″ It never ceases to amaze me how the obvious can sometimes be so elusive and forgetable. You have found a whole new way of presenting steps and procedures that most of us know about and yet have forgotten to apply. Tank you Rich.

  • Irene Hurdle

Have wanted to start my own business, but have been in information overload trying to learn everything and thinking I had to know everything before starting. What a sense of relief after listening to your discussion of the 3 stages! It helped me make sense of all that info and put it into perspective.

    Thank you so much.
Looking forward to your next video.

Just about all entrepreneurs probably start out with the vision of themselves slogging it all out alone. The perhaps ‘romanticized’ notion of having achieved it all by themselves. It’s strongly embedded in them. I know, I have spoken to many and even started out myself with that view. It’s a very twisted idea that may have even been drummed into us from our parents (that we have to be able to do a lot of things by ourselves, that we have to work really hard, that the only way to get things done right is to do it ourselves) and it takes a lot to yank the entrepreneur out of that lone ranger mindset.

We make it almost impossible to challenge and change that mindset. And this almost defeats the purpose of being an entrepreneur – where we become the founder and manage a system – rather than be the business operator or technician.

So then they get inundated by the many, many things that are on the daily to-do list – being busy but not strategic enough and doing the appropriate thing at the appropriate time.

This is a great video guys. Thanks for this!

    Hey Rich, Todd;

    Excellent video.

Personally, I can relate to the “when” being out of sequence. And the “whats” are not always clear.

The “Hows” I’ve got pretty well.

You guys delivered a ton of food for thought; I mindmapped it and thought I’d share it with the group. It’s my 5 AM interpretation!

You can download it here (no optin): (MindJet 8)

Thanks for the thought provoking content. (Good to have the ‘ole Rich back)

P.S. Todd: I WAS doing my workout backwards. Thanks!

Story of my life for the past 4 years. I’m only now starting to make sense of it all.

In many areas of life such as in engineering you work in exactly this way you just described but then when you want to start a business you totally forget everything and you put the cart before the horse. You just don’t make the connection that there is a logical sequence of events for everything in life. Maybe that is why we need mentors.

Great stuff. Looking forward to the next video.

    Best Regards
    Jac

This description of the stages in founding a sustainable business is very clear. I’ve never heard it expressed in such an easily understood way.

The point about JIT learning is well taken. I have heard you talk about this before and resolved to apply it, but somehow in the intervening period i forgot, and now i must remind myself that learning stuff I don’t need right now for fun can wait until I’m making enough to pay others to do what currently i need to do myself.

Well said Alexander. I believe this is one of the key reasons why many aspiring entrepreneurs fail. Too much EGO! And not wanting to share!

  • Dale

Thank Rich and Todd for such incredible information! I am taking notes and getting ready to put some of this into action. When i started listening to the videos you guys are giving us, I thought I had a great way of getting my business out there.
Boy was I WRONG! Thanks so much guys for all the help you’ve given. I can now say I’m on the right path. WITHOUT THE STRESS!

All the best to both of you.

Looks like a great video guys but it’s loading way to slow to actually watch, is it on YouTube or somewhere else? Thanks! (No I don’t have a slow connection – although I am in New Zealand ;) .

My office is a literal library of Just In Case.

If you are planning to go to the moon, you had better
have all the Just In Case ready….

I’ve always thought that somewhat applicable to business…
because one does not want to discover the Grand Canyon
separates you from your goal just when you run out of gas
    (or capital.)

It’s a tough one… I’m interested to see if Rich can boil
his concepts down to a feasible AND quick version…
so I’m not bogged down with more Just In Case!

Looking forward to the next segment!

    John

You have hit the nail on the head, if I had heard this a long time back my momentum would have been pushing me onward instead of backward.

    Thank You

Hi, this is not for everyone, please pass to Todd Braun,

Look guys you are getting technically unbearable for some reason, guess how many people around the world watch this video it this way: http://www.screencast.com/t/rxtizIHKGVS ? And there is notning I can do with it – I can pause it but it does not help! In addition I could not print the Founder Report from Rich as my printer goes crazy because of the pdf you make, same thing was with Web 2.0 Marketing Report from Rich, I printed four reports – thanks so much – excellent content! But when you make those technical mistakes… I really do not know what to think…

    Thanks for your attention!

  • Iris

    Dear Rich and Todd:

Thanks for all the great information in the videos and today’s live stream. Unfortunately, I cannot get Video #2 to work (page will not load) and I missed most of the live event today due to bad weather in our area. So I’d love to have a PDF of the 30 Temptations that Todd mentioned as a possibility.

Thanks again. I’m looking forward to your launch tomorrow.

    Iris

Video 2 also doesn’t work for me – keeps looping and not opening the page. keeps saying http://www.strategicprofits.com/split-test/click.php?id=18

    RE: Video #3

Your processes and presentation are very logical and easy to follow. You have done an excellent job in communicating the JIT philosophy and what processes need to be be accomplished as well as what processes to avoid in order to avoid information overload.

Look forward to watching the rest of the videos and becoming a founder.
