On Feb. 10,07- I had already signed up for the Business Growth System. I have beeen charged the $397.00 of the coaching system. I continue to receive emails to sugn up as though I have never signed before. I signed for the Front of the Line Pass... thinking this was the process to start the coaching. Question... am I not part of the initial 100 group that was signed up last month. Please let me know what's going on. I am totally lost at this stage. I thought the coaching started today. Help me to understand.

He Jack,

Nice of you to share you're insights, thanks.

Can I be curious for a sec?

You said
"take the ime to make wise decisions"

I was wondering....
how does one make a wise decision?
What do you compare it too, I mean what are your criteria in making a wise decision?

And because the post is all about looking back and learning ....
can you share about last years "wise decisions"

Thanks

Rich,
Very interesting post.

I have been working online for 6 months now, mainly a learning curve with very little income.

One thing I have got from all this work so far, are two great business partners, each with different skills, which will enable us to launch our new business in the next few weeks. As a 'change' from the norm, a percentage of our profits will be dedicated to water4Ghana, a chance to give people something we all take for granted, fresh, clean, water.

The 'get rich quick' idea is a con. Like all businesses, an online one needs interest, involvement, hard work and dedication to succeed.

You are there, hopefully I soon will be.

regards,
Katie

Hi Rich,

When I met you at the World Internet Summit in Vegas last September, I knew that what you had to say be extremely valuable. In fact, you\'re the reason I went.

However, I didn\'t realize that the personal advice you gave me would transform my business life like it did!

Just my shear connection to you through the summit has brought a flood of traffic to my latest site. And it just launched on Saturday!

What you are saying in these blog entries are Gold. It applied to my life as I am sure it does to others. I am following your model of giving away advice and following the advice you gave to me personally at the Summit to a T.

Thanks for being you.

Hi Rich,

I am going through a hard work in my online business and everything is still not giving me a satisfied amount of income.

I am learning from all gurus of online business and hopefully that i can make this year of 2007 as a memorable year in my life.

Rich,

Here are a few things that come to mind as I work through this step:

I have been struggling back and forth with the idea that I have to find a "profitable" niche rather than a niche that I am "passionate" about. I have been trying to develop websites for niches that I have no interest in and this means I am working out of my weakness. How can I possibly deliver quality service if I know nothing and don't care? (What was I thinking!?) I will end up creating junk that will not benefit anyone (not to mention how boring it will be for me).

I have also struggled with thinking that the only profitable niches are things that are not that meaningful in the big scheme of life (i.e. entertainment and leisure activities). I don't want to try to get people to play poker online, or get cool new ringtones for their phone. This is simply false thinking based on get-rich-quick beliefs instead of quality long-term service beliefs. I want to do something that is meaningful and helpful to people--a real service that I care about. I am going to start looking at the niches that I am passionate about and find ways to make them profitable.

Another thing I struggle with is thinking that I have to create a full-blown "perfect" product and website before I can do anything. I've struggled with getting started with the small things that I can do something about instead of trying to do some giant launch that I simply don't know how to do. I think I need to focus on expanding my list of contacts through some natural means like friends and family, groups I belong to, and a few customers I already have. I also need to develop one small but good product to "launch" (probably as a giveaway) so that I can build up my "customer" base.

Finally, I struggle with doing "busy" work instead of real work that will add something to my business: reading email, surfing the internet (justified as "research") downloading "free" IM resources (that I don't read), and making lots of lists that I never actually implement. I need to start creating products by setting up a writing schedule. I need to add new pages to my website and blog every week. I need to contact previous customers and ask them what kinds of products they would like to see developed.

BTW, I really liked Jack's Strategic Imperatives listed above--excellent list! :-)

Thanks Rich for these thought-provoking exercises.
