Rich's current Twitter status:another wonderful day of writing and researching...
Have you ever met an idiot that is more successful than you are?
We all have, right?
Frequently, when I am coaching, a client will say something along the lines of "I’m just as smart as (blank "guru"), so why am I working so much harder yet making so much less than them?
When they ask, I’m never quite sure… Do they really want the truth, or are they simply venting their frustrations? To play it safe, I usually say nothing and wait to hear what comes out next. After a silent pause, the client speaks…
The next few words out of their mouth tell me everything I need to know. If they are serious they’ll press me and ask again. If not they’ll simply move on to the next topic.
You see, I need to know if they are serious, because if they’re not… they aren’t ready to hear the cold, hard truth.
What about you? Do you want to know why people with half your smarts are making ten times more than you? If so, keep reading…
Today, the internet provides an overwhelming amount of information. Never before have so many people been so well informed… And yet, so utterly confused.
Lots of entrepreneurs go around thinking that "Access to information is what separates the winners from the losers" and, "The smartest person in the room should be the most successful". Not true. If it were, then whoever bought the most products, or read the most books would be richest, and we both know how outrageous that is.
That’s not to say that getting the right information isn’t important, but it’s only a tool.
When it comes to being successful in business, there are a few easily overlooked elements that are absolutely vital. They’re truly the deciding factors.
So, what are the crucial "winning" elements at the core of all successful entrepreneurs (even the "idiots")?
1.) Action Orientation. Taking action is the real difference between the super-successful and the wannabes. Wannabes simply absorb information and at their very best, react to it. And with such an overwhelming supply of information, most of them are simply numbed by it.
Contrast that with the successful entrepreneurs out there. When they get good information… they act on it - as soon as they possibly can. The main reason why so many don’t take action is because they are paralyzed by the prospect of failure. Add to that, their mistaken belief that the next information nugget they come across will be the difference between success and failure, and it becomes obvious why their "waiting" has them stuck.
If they press on, they only become more confused by conflicting facts. All the while, becoming increasingly frustrated that they still haven’t found the magic they’ve been seeking.
If you’ve ever been there, here’s my advice - Stay focused! Take a deep breath, and ask yourself, -What do I have to get done today?- Not tomorrow, or next week, or even next month. Today! And not what do I have to learn, but what do I have to DO to further my success?!?! It’s easy to lose your focus on today when you are thinking about tomorrow. And it’s just as tempting to believe that the next pearl of wisdom you come across is going to make all the difference. But it won’t. You’ll never reach the level of success you crave without taking specific DAILY steps that take you there.
It’s pretty straightforward. To build a successful business you have to train your brain to crystallize a future vision, break it into small details, and organize them into daily tasks. After that, all you need is the courage to commit to the completion of these daily tasks - despite all the obstacles that get in your way.
Sounds easy enough, right? So what will sabotage your success? Mainly fear! Fear is your enemy. The little voice whispering - what if it doesn’t work? What if I’m wrong? Look, some self-doubt is natural - but when it prevents you from achieving the success you deserve it’s a problem. Which leads to our next point:
2.) Rise Above Your Fears & Doubts. You have to get far enough above your doubts to keep working or you’re doomed. What works for me is to forget it all. And the easiest way to do that, is to get lost in a project. It works for me and it’ll work for you. Just throw yourself so deep into your work that your fears stay far enough away until you’ve finished all that’s needed to be done. Every successful business owner learns how to do this, sooner or later. What makes it easier is knowing…
Experience will always be your best teacher
When it comes to business you are going to make mistakes. We all do. Even the Intels, Microsofts, and Googles of the world mis-step from time to time. Building a successful company is complex, and there are always factors that lie beyond your control.
The trick is to learn from your mistakes. Just do your best to limit your risk, focus every day, keep trying, learn what works, and don’t torture yourself when you take a wrong turn. Just notice it, learn from it, and change your approach.
And since we are talking about mistakes… Do you know what’s at the root of most mistakes that you’ll make? I see it over and over again, playing out in so many online businesses. Yet, most people would never guess what it is, in a million years. Even though practically everyone who struggles in business is guilty of it.
For some strange reason, everyone wants to make things more complicated than they need to be. It’s as if everyone is fascinated by the overly complex, so instead of keeping things simple, they burden themselves with too much to do and too little time to do any of it right. Which leads to the next crucial element…
3.) Keep Things As Simple As You Can To Avoid The "Stupidity Tax". This a big one. It’s so easily avoidable but for some reason it’s one almost everyone online seems to walk right into.
Here‘s an example how this flawed approach plays out…
Instead of picking one way to drive traffic to your website, mastering it, and then moving on - most people do the opposite. They want to learn about launches, pay-per-click, search engine optimization, affiliate marketing, and every other method under the sun, all at the same time without developing any level of mastery in any of the tactics whatsoever.
Yet, the most successful online businesses I know do the opposite. Agora for example focused primarily on pay-per-click for their first 50 million in online sales. My company focused on jv/affiliate launches and in 9 months we’ve done over 7 million in sales.
When you pursue multiple directions in your business all at the same time you end up making very little progress. And it doesn’t matter if you are smarter and working harder than other successful people because you are spread way too thin.
On the internet, making this mistake can really kill your business, here’s why: In the online marketing world your results are directly related to how your skills stack up against your competitors. In Google adwords if your competition is better they’ll pay less for traffic and convert more of it than you will. In search engine optimization they’ll rank higher than you. In the affiliate world whoever converts better, sells more, and therefore can pay affiliates more, which locks other competitors out of the market.
It doesn’t work this way offline. You don’t pay more if your ad or commercial sucks. You might not get the number of responses but you’re not locked out, and you’re not forced into an inferior position, saddled with paying the "stupidity tax."
The Solution -> Isolate the fewest activities you can be successful with. Then knock them off one at a time. Don’t make the mistake of trying to do too much and marginalizing your results.
Remember: Confucius said "Man who chases two rabbits catches neither".
If you follow my advice you’ll get to take back quite a bit of time you’re currently wasting. You’ll be free from wasting time trying to learn too much about too many tactics at once. Plus you’ll get back the time youvre wasting trying to execute with a superficial level of knowledge. What you do with your newfound free time leads us to our fourth and final success-component, which is…
4.) Know Where The Money Is. It takes time to know your market, but it’s time you must invest if you’re serious about your business’s success.
The first step is quite simply to open your eyes and look at what’s going on around you. You need to keep your finger on the pulse of your market to know what’s "hot" in it. But that’s only 1/2 the equation. The second step is to do your best to understand WHY it’s hot. Until you understand your market on a deeper level you’ll keep scratching your head wondering why you are making less than your "dumb" counterparts.
The good news is that once you get it - When you really understand the psychology of your market; your results will improve immediately in all the marketing you do. From emails to pay-per-click your results will multiply because you’ll know your prospects better than any of your competitors.
So there you have it. If you’ve ever wondered why you make less than others even if you are smarter than they are, now you know. And it’s up to you. Are you going to make up your mind to keep plodding along somewhat frustrated with your progress or are you going to embrace the 4 points I shared with you here and decide once and for all that you are going to do what it takes to be successful.
Only time will tell…

P.S. Please let me know how you’ll use these ideas in your business. You can do this by posting your thoughts right here.
Rich, your comment on attempting to learn multiple forms of traffic generation, rather than focusing on one or two, reminded me how important it is two write down all the possibilities: what will be the most effective, who do I know that can help me with each and what is most likely to reach my target audience?
And, I truly understand what you’re saying when it comes to reducing complexity. After our call the other day, my company removed a number of things that were making the startup model difficult to manage. After making the decision to cut things back, a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders.
Thanks again!
Rich once again you are right…
i don’t usually post comments on blogs but what you said about being focused is what changed everything for me. You see for more than i can remember i was always trying the new thing hoping it would change everything for me until i realized, i couple thousands to late that it would be time and pressure that would cut it.
So i started working hard doing work everyday only focusing on the same little steps day after day and today i am making profits everyday. Of course its not as much as i would like but its a major improvement for me…and by staying focused using real marketing techniques…i now see the future with great success.
Tks for all your great tips.
What I took away from our conversation on this subject was the idea of doing the activities with the highest leverage. I’m now taking a much closer look at where the Bigger Money is. For me that is moving in the direction of speaking and larger projects and it definitely means facing my fears.
I’m not going to put my time into small projects which are more time intensive when I can put it in to bigger higher-leverage projects. The other key element for me is doing what I’m good at. And even though I not only know this but teach it, I had to look at it at a new level. That realization took a lot of stress of my shoulders too! Thanks.!
You are right and I recently took a paper calendar and wrote tasks in for each week to get to where I need to go, which is why I don’t have time to write any more. I’m a couple days behind. See ya!

Rich,
Great food for thought (not the bunnies, though). I’m in the process of building a new website and your comments, suggestions, and directions couldn’t be more on target. To me, it’s the “staying focused” that’s the hardest part, but I am persevering, and I will get there. In the meantime, (uh, where was I?) ……. keep the course with your great advise. We all really appreciate it.
Hi Rich & everybody,
We started the bgs for one month and after the first lesson we are working hard on the first important step : an ebook (in french for the moment as I told you on our first Q/A) about financial education. This will be our front end product but we don’t know if we give it for free or if we sell it. You will tell us. this e book will create the conversation with our market and tell us what our customers want. We will finalise the ebook in one or two weeks. Then we gonna pre launch to test the market with the book. as we need momentum we think about selling the book but when we look at your business building we want to give it for free!
I real dilemna!
we gonna launch some other products after analysing our market, we have some great offers (it’s about financial education and investments and some special products mix, a brand new offer on the market;
we gonna succeed with this formula
thanks

Great advice. I think we all have a tendency to try to do 20 things at once and don’t do any of them well
Hi Rich
Thanks for yet another spot-on reminder.
Life is often so busy, we mistakenly think business also has to be so busy. Not true. I like the F-O-C-U-S acronym. It helps me see distractions and time-wasters for what they are.
Keep up the good work Rich. I appreciate it.

A wise man once said, “write down the three most important things to so, and then complete one of them.”
I’ve got projects from a year ago that are half done!
Then again, I’ve got stuff I finished that’s making money as well.
Once agin you are right on Rich. I’ve found in my own business, fitness training, that there are about 3-4 areas in my business that if I focus on, my business increases. The more stuff that I add… my business decreases.
It seems simple, but it’s easy to get distracted.
Thanks again,
Coop
Rich, You continue to be a source of inspiration for me. Right up front you hit the nail on the head. It’s easy to say “stay focused” but that will not always put bread on the table. Unless you take action on something, anything, all the focus in the world can’t help you. Implementation will make you successful. If at first you don’t succeed, take action again.
Great article. keep up the GREAT work. You’re my motivational reminder.
Great post Rich! I’ve learned over the last couple years that I am NOT a good multi-tasker. If I want to be productive I need to shut down my email, and zero in on the task at hand.
I thought of another answer to the question:
“I’m just as smart as (blank “guru”), so why am I working so much harder yet making so much less than them?
In many cases, the guru is working less hard and making more money because they are MULTIPLYING their efforts by leveraging other people.
The real reason (all other things being equal).
Is the schmo is picking apples one at a time.
The Guru is shaking the whole damn tree! IE:
the guru is selling 500 ebooks at a swoop (almost all profit}
The schmo is hacking away at Adsense or affiliate marketing
and maybe (if lucky) making one sale a day.
Same effort , same smarts, different results!
Rich,
Your comments about action separating the winners from the wannabes could not be more accurate. I know because I used to be completely overwhelmed with all the information. Overwhelmed by information overload to the point of not being able to decide what action to take.
I also suffered from paralysis from analysis; always seeking the latest information to analyze in a futile attempt to see if it will be the one nugget to propel me to success.
Through sheer persistance, and refusing to give up, I eventually learned that if I was going to achieve anything, I first had to do something. Once I understood that truth, I was on my way.
Thanks for the excellent information! It is greatly appreaciated!
You’ve never said a truer word Rich. I joined an IM mentoring program 11 months ago and found (much to my horror) that rather than providing focus and receiving individual guidance, instead I was drowned in information.
I can’t blame the providers for giving too much, it was me that allowed myself to be completely overwhelmed. Whilst looking at everything I managed to succeed in achieving nothing.
You must pick the one thing and learn how to do it competently before moving on to the next thing. I thoroughly agree with Source Code Sale that turning email off (and anything else that might distract) when you really need to focus on the one thing is an extremely smart thing to do.
I fatfingered my URL above. Sorry. This one is correct.
As usual, great common sense comments. I’ve been stuck for a long time in a lot of the things you described. Only lately have I started to pare down my options and focus on one at a time. And - guess what! I’m making more progress than I ever did when I was pursuing all those dozens of rabbits at once.
Thanks Rich for yet another practical advice dipped in your own personal experience of helping others find the best in themselves.
When we attach ourselves to one coach, mentor or well-experienced senior in the field, it gives an excellent focus shutting out all other things. We have taken the first step in doing a well thought out action.
And if that coach or mentor happens to be a person who practices what he preaches, he would prod us to move ahead with better focus whenever the relapse of old habits make us spread ourselves thin, grabbing all available opportunities.
But the decision who you should attach yourself with is the toughest.
Rick,
Thanks for the reminder. Sometimes we get so caught up in watching others and worrying about what they are doing and why that we neglect what we need to do to succeed for ourself. We need to be aware of our “competiion” and what is going on in our niche but as you say we must implement simple focused action in the direction of the money to get personal results.
This is so true Rich. I have done these mistakes in the past and learnt the hard way. Still the temptation to get side track is so strng that it requires conscious efforts to stay focussed. Easy access to information is one the reasons. We gargle the information rather than drinking.
A very nice post. Thank you.
Corrected URL! sorry.
Getting Unfocussed
now i know it takes money 2 make money, but i lost my job,my credit sucks and i have an 11yr old daughter with a brain tumor which is partly why my credit sucks.now i know everyone has problems but i wish i could catch a break and get some help some how,not for me but 4 jennifer.i wish i could start a business somehow and repay the start-up cost and running cost if any once its up and profits are blooming like flowers in spring.maybe her life could be a little easier… well thanks 4 listening, mike m
Wow! I recently spoke about this topic — getting out there and DOING something, and overcoming your fear. You went even further though with your advice on focusing. I appreciate that, and it has given me some food for thought. Thank you!
This is so true! the overwhelm of what’s out there and what’s available to people wanting to start their own online business is enough to make you quit before you start! Thankfully, my mantra has been, “do just ONE thing every day.” That has helped me stay focused and not get sidetracked - something that happened frequently before I lived, ate, slept and breathed that mantra! So, thanks for validating what it has taken me a couple of years to learn. It’s so easy to get lost in the jungle of “fabulous” offers of great products, software and “easy” ways to make money. Staying focused is a learned skill, and not that hard to learn once you commit to it. Thanks for the great post.
Absolutely outstanding post Rich. Action is what separates the best from the rest. Even if you fail, you can learn from that failure and not make the same mistake the next time.
Take action. Plain and simple.
You left something out. #5. You assume too much. Like so many others I dont give 2 cents about all these extras like adwords and pay per click etc. etc. I just want to get started. I dont have a web site, don’t know what to sell, don’t trust anybody on the net, hell even Ebay screwed me over. I see individuals asking to join their programs and if your able to check their references, you find they don’t exist or have never heard of the person. Above all, I don’t own a credit card and so most don’t want any thing to do with me. They don’t understand we have a law here in Canada that states various methods of payment must be offered, but I suspect they have more nefarious ideas in mind or are just to lazy to accept other methods of payment. All I want is something simple to understand, easy to reference for reliablity, and easy to return to for added information or expansion. I gotta tell you in three years of searching for what should be readily available, I haven’t found that kind of web business yet, which needless to say builds my distrust even higher.
Nice one m8 - I know it… yet I still don’t do it :-S
Cheers,
~ Dan
Great post, I run my site mostly for fun, but would LOVE to really find a way to drive traffic more and monetize. I guess, were I to FOCUS daily on more content, and offering a product of my own to sell ( ebook? cooking video? educational video?) I could probably make a real income from it! I’ll keep reading here, the content you provided hit home with a current business plan I am researching.
THANKS!
I just want to thank you Rich, sometimes even though my comon sence tells me that I should “Stop, Regroup and Focus” I do get overwhelmed and try to take everything in and on at once. Your words of wisdom and encouragement are very
appreciated.

Thanks for the reminder. Easier said than done, especially when you have several projects/businesses that depend upon each other. But yes there are still ways to streamline. As always the support is appreciated.
Blessings, KiP
Hi Rich!
What a great eye opener of what you said . Its moral lesson, that we must do things one at a time & stay FOCUS in order to be successful of whatever we are at, rather than taking more than what we can be able to chew and end up to be very busy of doing anything but accomplish nothing.
Thanks Rich
I know all about it, but still find myself wanting to find out everything in order to do it all the best way! meanwhile competitiros are running to the bank, and not enough of my target market are having the chance to hear from me.
It has encouraged me to do a Strengths Weaknesses Opportunitties and threats analysis on myself - rather than just with clients.
Brilliant post.
hi Rich,
It all makes perfect sense, I do my daily targets, and stay focused on what’s truly important.
What bothers me is how do I ACCURATELY answer the “why they buy what they buy” question, when studying the psychology of the market on a mass level?
Any tips.
Regards,
Gueorgui Notchev ~ The down to earth guy.
Like cold water to a man wandering the desert… I have been building our company at breakneck speed for many months now, and finally the seeds that have been planted are beginning to grow. My primary strategy has been the JV/Affiliate model you spoke about having used for your company.
That’s not to say we are not looking for ways to optimize our pages and get a decent understanding of SEO and PPC - but am cautious to spend too much time focused on that when the partners can bring more business in a week than the SE’s can in months…
Thanks for helping me to focus!
I am reminded of the day my boss told clients that I was the expert on a subject and that they could come next Monday and get the solution from me for their problem. After theyleft with high hopes,I turned my unbelieving eyes to the boss.He told me nonchalantly, ” You better be the expert by Sunday and save my face!”His Mantra was simply this : Focus on one issue at a time, learn as much as you can at a time, apply it to the job at hand, and ,having done that, keep a lookout for any more knowledge content on it as you work along. The tactic orked brilliantly, nad before long I was left to handle cases independently, having acquired a larger than life image as an expert. Though it scared me stiff to begin with, fortyfour years since then,I count my ex boss among my guiding stars
Rich,
- Have seen you speak several times live over the last 12 months.
- Followed your highly successful launches (congrats!).
- Absorbed the manifesto’s and videos you’ve given away (very powerful!).
- Spoken to other big name gurus whom you are / were their personal coach.
KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK!
Continue to hit people “up side of the head” with this powerful, straight forward, simple, basic information most people tend to just glaze over looking for that “magic bullet” that isn’t there.
Being a very creative person, my mind is always racing with ideas. I can’t seem to turn it off! Just like many people, I would float from one great idea to the next.
However, I would focus on “high-end” business ventures, nothing low dollar. So, I was somewhat focused, but not entirely.
Here’s how your information has help me FOCUS, use LEVERAGE, and GAIN MOMENTUM ever since I first saw you speak at Carl Galletti’s event in June 2006:
- Narrowed down my focus to what I’m extremely good at – “driving traffic”.
- Helping frustrated business owners drive massive amounts of traffic to their website(s).
- More traffic = more opt-ins, more revenue, more buyers, more customers, more eyes on your offer, more people into your sales funnel.
- Then I FOCUSED even further, going to the high-end range, networking with many high profile “gurus”, speakers, business owners, etc.
- Six to seven figure Joint Ventures were formed.
- High profile business clients were obtained.
Wow, I thought. There must be something to this applying energy and FOCUS on one-thing-at-a-time stuff!
Then, a few new “problems” arose.
(I say “problems” because they’re the good kind to have)
- When your time becomes worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars per hour, you can’t afford to do anything less than continue to focus on strengths, and stay on the highest revenue producing tasks possible.
- I had to hire some key people to delegate work to. One person I have direct communication with, while they deploy my plans and strategies for the various jv’s and clients, by managing the mini teams of assistants for each project.
- For the 2007 tax year, I already started tax planning and strategizing. Ah yes. Certainly is a great problem to have figuring out what to do with a MASSIVE amount of revenue that will be coming in from multiple jv’s and client projects.
My point is this:
The more I focused, kept focusing, drilling deeper with focus along the path of my strengths, the more doors that opened up for me VERY QUICKLY!
It was 1000x easier than I ever thought possible! Nothing complicated, secret, or magical about it. Just by focusing in one direction as much as humanly possible, and being action oriented about it.
Spinning my wheels has turned into MASSIVE SUCCESS in record time. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a lot of 2007 still left!
FOCUS created more action and leverage for me.
LEVERAGE built up more and more momentum.
MOMENTUM has created massive growth for my business.
So, thank you Rich for being instrumental in waking up that part of my brain!
Marty Stewart
“Page Daddy”
Indeed it is the case.
Mose people TRY to get too many things done at a time. When you FOCUS on one at a time, you will be able to finish off every single task in RECORD time.
Q: How do you eat an elephant?
A: One piece at a time…
Online profits is both a traffic and a conversion game. You can try to master traffic first then master conversion. Or go the other way around.
However, from my experience, you will get a lot further into the game if you focus on a single project for a period of time. And after change the focus to the other project for another period of time.

It\’s so refreshing to hear from one who has done what they teach! there\’s a HUGE difference between a business between a business that generates $ 500 a month and
one that generates $ 5000. There\’s an even BIGGER difference between a business that generates $ 5000 per month and one that generates $ 250,000 per year!
Those who have done the activities that generate a 1/2 a million dollars per year will tell you first hand- you can tell in less than 30 minutes by talking to someone if they\’ve done it or not. Simple regurgitation does not generate multiple-six figures. There\’s a serious MIND DIFFERENCE between someone who KNOWS who to generate that kind of money and one who HAS generated it!
Hi Rich,
Your article saved me 97 dollars and cost you an affiliate sale. I was thinking of buying Michale Traffic Videos through your affiliate link but now I have decided not to and will concentrate on my SE efforts.
I like your matrial however and would gladly join your coaching program if I could afford it. I live in India and 400 dollars per month is an exhorbitant amount for me. Also I am not particularly excited by making millions of dollars - I would prefer freedom to live the lifestyle I want.
But I like your emails and go through each one of them. It is rare that I do not learn something which I need to learn and which makes me think.
Keep the emails coming
regards
Nikhil
What an amazing article! Thanks Rich for making it all clear not just for me, but for my list as well (I couldn’t just keep this kind of information just to my self).
Trevor
You make good points. A lot of people think that just because you aren’t sitting watching tv that you are doing something constructive and reading a book (or a website for that matter) and learning are NOT equivalent to applying what you’ve learned.
Thanks for the reminder. And with that, I won’t be back for a while, ha ha!
Hi Rich,
This article was so real, so wise…it simply leaves me speechless and “actionmore”. Thank you again, for Strategic Profits- I could not be happier about the quality and value of your business smarts and your coaching program.
I thank my lucky stars that I had sense enough to become a member!
Sincerely,
Dr Betsy
Your overall advice is so very sound Rich, I would like to add my 2 cents worth if I possibly can…
You mention in the first point that successful people are action oriented and this is very true, and that the failures don’t take action becuase they are paralyzed by the fear of failing.
Let’s go a step further here and add, that a lot of people also understand the concept of taking action will often equal results, and therefore somewhere in their Phsyche are scared of success, I know that sounds a little strange, but this happens often, until you learn how to stop self-sabotage from within.
As for fears and doubt’s, you may or may not have heard about from a multitude of materials and quantum level studies that our thoughts are things that haven’t materialized yet. And whether we believe it or not, we are “Unconciously” driving ourselves towards our single most “fearful” or “desired” thoughts (outcomes) every waking second.
So the fact that most people are fearful of failure, means that failure and self-sabotage will eventuate, and hence the frustration and brining in of complex self-induced routines to make things so much more diffiucult than they should be. And this includes us trying to complete 20 different things all at one time.
Same is true with the fear of success, we know that if we just follow up on one simple thing, then we will become it’s master, yet how many of us do that and learn to say “No” to the countless other tasks that should be delegated to other sources.
This will keep things very simple and simplicity is what life should be about.
When we don’t understand a situation fully, it simply means we haven’t given it enough singular attention, and therefore we fail at that task. This holds true in the case of knowing our market and why it’s hot, and what people are thinking, if we had a one track mind to solve that question we would find the answer.
And I’ve heard you talk about “Noise” in marketing, it’s also true within our lives and our minds.
The root of most problems from all human beings is due to the “Innability” to sit quietly in a room for 10 minutes a day, and allow the energy and creative process induce itself in us.
All disease (Dis-Ease), stress, errors in judgement, failure, and so on come from this concept.
I’ll leave you all with this thought, if you watch the movie “The Last Samurai” or “Star Wars III” and listen to the universal message from all of these, you’ll learn the answer.
The last samurai in where Tom Cruise is learning how to fight with the sword and keeps getting beaten, his teacher says “you have too many minds” meaning focus on one task at a time.
Star Wars the great master Yoda teaches, be careful of fearful thoughts, as fear leads to hate, and hate leads to anger and anger leads to the dark side.
So be careful of our thoughts, focus on one single thing, that we want, and move towards it with determination and motivation, and never ever quit, and you’ll succeed when the time is right and the right time can be manifested much sooner than you think.
I would recommend every business person and non-buisness person look at grooming their thoughts and connecting themselves with their source energy.
I’ve found a few sources to be great:

I’ve learnt from many sources and you have to of course experience what Rich is talking about here for yourself and over time as you become more in tune with yourself and your business, it’s clients and your market’s climate, you’ll discover what I mean.
Hope this all makes sense and helps add to a great article by Rich.
Cheers,
Adam.
Focus, focus, focus, stick to one thing and master it! Quit reading volumes of information while chasing a herd of rabbits. Thanks Rich, you’re the voice of reason brother! Dan at http://www.magicbullets.com
persistance is important. so is sticking with a path. lastly, you can be very intelligent but not know about the “interent way of doing business.”
it is new, exciting and different. first you have to learn the ground rules and then jump in.
you are right there is so much info and methods to choose but you gotta pick the one that you understand and then learn it and perfect it.
Hey Rch,
Your KISS comments (keep it simple stupid) are right on the money as usual; although this is easier said than done with all the ‘Net Gurus barking and keeping you awake all nights.
I don’t think there is any “Big Secret” stored in hundreds of pages of eBooks and videos for doing business online.
Like everything else in life, it’s just a journey - you choose a destination - you choose a vehicle, you pack for the trip and move AHEAD one day at a time.
Thanks again for putting things in perspective.

Thanks for your advise it was very helpful. I am just starting to put up my website.
Your information was very timely.
Timely advice Rich. Just want I need to hear to keep me moving forward. Appreciate it loads (grins)
Really good thoughts. Your comment about action is what most people overlook. I have developed the mantra, Make Today Count. I know that if I move forward toward my goals each and every day, I will eventually achieve them. I also understand that a successful life is simply a collection of successful days. So my goal is to Make Each Day Count.
Taking focused action each and every day will dramatically improved the lives of most.

Hi - I’ve just decided to get serious and make my website/business pay. So, I’ve followed the wisdom of the old path and found the overwhelm challenging. I then started researching the best way to approach turning my business into a BUSINESS without working every minute for not much more than I was getting before!
Finding Rich and reading the Manifeto and The Missing Chapter has been the best use of my non-productive time to date!
I know this isn’t the right place for this testimonial but, pass it on, tell your friends and thanks Rich for giving me what I need to set me on the right road to my profit-filled success.
Best,
John
Fantastic article. I have to admit I’ve made ALL of the mistakes you’ve mentioned.
Awesome and motivating article. I have found myself stuck by all of the things you mentioned. Great reminder to focus and get something done.
