I love it when this happens…
You get totally focused on one single project, putting all your time, energy, and effort into making things work and achieving your final goal.
And then suddenly, an unexpected gem of brilliance pops up out of nowhere.
This was the case last week when Brad Fallon and I were shooting footage for the Strategic Alliance videos you’ve been watching.
We were intensely zeroed in on the matter at hand, working our asses off in 93 degree heat to bring you the most clear-cut and powerful business building content we could deliver.
And then between takes, Brad dropped a bomb. Actually, two bombs, to be exact.
It went something like this:
Brad: “Rich, you guys do a lot of stuff with YouTube, right?”
Me: “Yeah.”
Brad: “How’s that working for you?”
Me: “Really well. Could always be better though.””
Brad: “Well, Andy and I were tinkering around with some settings the other day, and we stumbled upon a no-brainer way to dramatically increase the views of our videos…”
Just as we were setting up to roll cameras, Brad leaned over and whispered to me, “Ya know Schefren–we’re also making a killing leveraging MySpace to grab even more YouTube views as well…”
And he went on to explain another simple, anyone-can-do-it tactic that made my freshly-closed mouth drop wide open once again.
“Hold that thought!” I exclaimed. “As soon as we get this first shot, I want to get that little gold nugget on tape too.”
And with that, he revealed two incredibly simple tactics that literally had my mouth hanging wide open and my brain screaming ‘WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT???”
Of course, I asked if we could let the cat out of the bag to my blog readers, and he enthusiastically agreed.
So here are two YouTube tips you cam implement in the next 5 minutes and see a major league boost in your view count almost instantly.

Help – it says the video is no longer available!
Blame it on YouTube… :-)
Geoff
Of course. Now it’s back. Sorry about that.
Geoff
Hi Geoff,
I had the same problem! Just reload the page, and wait a sec – and it’s there! ;-)
Why didn’t you think of that! ;-) ;-)
Jake
Wow that is a fantastic idea..wish I had thought of it.
Thank You guys..
Oh, great tips you shared! I’m going to use it :-)
Thanks.
Marian
These tips actually work really well. I wish you guys wouldn’t give away all the secrets! :)
Thats a cool Idea, and making comments on these pages are also good Ideas as it gets your website listed on this website. So I can tell you about the Most Amazing breakthrough in the History of Mankind
I do this and it works great.
I have 8,000+ friends on myspace and would stress, in addition to your awesome tips, that posting video in your bulletins *regularly* is imperative. So many people try it only once and if there’s no immediate avalanche, they quit. Consistency is key.
I recommend one per week. Less than that is not enough and more than that is too much. For best results, the videos should include something that adds value, not just a pitch.
Live Your Dreams,
Jill Koenig
Love it! Thanks for the add-on value to the video Jill. Persistence and perseverence pay off. Just getting started on MySpace but now I have a plan of action. Thanks everyone!
Total Class… love it!
Thanks for sharing.
Scott
Well this has gone straight into my ‘essential tips’ box – after I put it into action first of course!
Thanks again for freely sharing these great ideas, and thanks Jill – great follow up note..
Paul.
Do you want the best of both YouTube and MySpace? Check out this site and use the Tags features on your videos, it will show up within 24 hours on major subscription sites putting your product or service even further. It’s been in beta mode, but lots has been happening and this site is promising.

Another great tip is to start posting comments on the extremmely high viewed entertainment videos. As well as subscribe to channels of new enterntainment videos so your “locked in” to the first 5-6 subscribers in their channel. Giving you autopilot traffic to your channel from your link

Hey guys,
I sure will try this, thanks a lot for sharing :)
Cheers

Thanks for the tips in the video.
As an added suggestion, it’s important to note that your video still needs to have good content. If your videos suck then you’re not going to get the traffic you’re looking for. Seems obvious, but you can’t just put junk out there and expect lots of interest. That’s what most people do. That’s not to say that your video needs to be professionally produced. If you use a webcam, and the content is useful to viewers, they’ll overlook the amateurish production.
So put some thought into what you’re going to say, before you hit the record button.
The best type of content is ‘how to’, just like the video that Andy and Rich did, above.
Another useful strategy is to use a ‘video broadcast’ tool such as http://www.tubemogul.com which will automatically upload your video to many other sites, and track the views for you. It’s a cool tool and it’s free.
Andrew
I am going to try this for i have had trouble.. So a great big ThankYou..
Keep up the good work..
Hey All
All I gotta say is …..Thanks for the Tips!
How’s about a few more…(laugh)…
Great strategy, can you do the same thing with FB?
Well, I knew about putting videos on my bulletins. I do it all the time. But I hadn’t thought about the obvious one about copying other people’s tags and keywords in YouTube. You’re right, Rich, that was a “duh” moment, wasn’t it!! :D
Is it a good idea to watermark videos with your website domain name ? I guess such practices could be considered to be a bit too promotional these days.
Thanks guys!
This is an awesome tip and I expect this will ultimately make a difference in revenue.
Can’t wait to try it so…
Hey guys,
That sure was a DUH moment…thanks!!!
***Liz***
I’m more advanced than I thought! I’ve been doing that for ’bout a year!
Never-the-less, this is a solid tip for newbies… use it chaps!
Pssst… keep your eyes out for new “catchy” songs too… they get TONS of traffic! ;0) shhhhhh!
Best wishes

I was thinking about putting a video on YouTube, this will certainly be on my “to do” list. Thanks a lot.
Just need to figure out a cool video to make to advertise my bad credit auto loan site without sounding spammy.
Great Tips… Thanks guys.
Some of these tips are so easy but work incredibly well… woohoo !!
Great content… you keep delivery awesome info. Keep it up.
I know I’ll implement this into my current business to continue the sales flow.

I’m a huge fan of the Stompernet Guys. I can’t wait until your announcment comes out. Thanks for the great tips.
Thank you very much. That sounds like some great tips.
I have to confess I use tip 1 and it does help a lot! As for tip #2, I didn’t think about doing that. Now, I just need to figure out how to make it auto-play. LOL
I will be working on that tonight and am anxious to see what happens with it.
Thanks guys!

Thanks, guys. This is a great tip. Yeah, why didn’t I catch on earlier:-) Sometimes something is in your face, but you don’t see it. Will definitely give it a go. I have come a long way since starting out as a newbie about two years ago. Much of it thanks to some hard work, but I would have been lost without guides like you. I am housebound due to a chronic illness and the internet has been a godsend in terms of enabling me to be independent and earning a living. I LOVE technology!
Smart and simple.
Brilliant !
Now I have another reason to do more videos…
Thanks for sharing, Rich.
PS. Is it any wonder why I love to read your blog? :)
Yeap it’s all about the keywords!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t see the VIDEO. Is there any alternative way to learn about these tactics?
Thank you
Sophia
I’m afraid to say I cannot see any video in this page. I’ve tried with Explorer and Firefox. Just an empty space where the video should be :-( I’m in the UK if it makes any difference.
I see it know , great stuff as usual.
Thanks
is this a joke? where are the tips? above, it reads,
“So here are two YouTube tips you cam implement in the next 5 minutes and see a major league boost in your view count almost instantly.”
then, there is this big, blank white space (even bigger than the one below this sentence).
and, then, it goes on to read,
“Do yourself a favor and put these both into play right now. Then come back here and post your comments below so everyone can see how extremely potent these simple little tweaks can be.”
i would love to get these tips. could someone forward them to me?
thank you.
dwayne
nevermind. it just took FOREVER for the video to load.
sorry.
Thank-you for sharing this. Those are fantastic tips!!!!
Wow! Thanks Rich, you really pulled out some gold nuggets out of Brad! :) Thanks to both of you for sharing them.
- Sakari
Great tips Rich…
Just like you always do :)

Hello, I got this in an email from another website, and must say, it is a good idea. In total, my 3 accounts have had 1.5 million video views so far. The matching tag idea is good, and also here is a tip, for those of you who have your own site, and don’t have any other audio on it, autoplay one of your videos on you pages. check http://www.viewstester.blogspot.com for info on how to do that. that guy’s account has had over 900,000 views already.
Super tip. Really loved it.
This is coming from a newbie so should be priceless.
Thanks Ric and Brad for the tips. Quick ? though – just had my site reviewed by Stompernet’s free tool Siteseer – go get it if you haven’t already – and one of Andy’s recommendations was to not be too specific with your key words on your site for the very reason of people cutting and pasting your well thought out key words. I think he also pointed out that you can get sued if you use people’s names etc to drive traffic to your site. What’s the difference between that and copying tags? Would be good to know.
Thanks as always for great tips Ric and Brad. Quick question though. My site has just been reviewed by Stompernet’s free Siteseer tool (go check it out if you haven’t already) and Andy mentions that in putting keywords on your site you should be v careful about not being too specific because of people cutting and pasting you well though out keywords. I’m pretty certain he also says you can’t copy people’s key words esp their names or whatever as you can get sued for this. What’s the difference between this, and copying people’s exact tags? Just checking.
Rich and Brad,
Now those tips are truly gold nuggets. I don’t even do videos yet, but when I do, I’ll look to you for more great advice.
Rich and Brad,
Thanks for the consistent beneficial information and tips to help build traffic and structure community. It is further evidence why you are authorities on Internet Marketing and Business Growth.
I’m looking forward to the StompNet re-open today as well as seeing you both grow together.

This is also something I will be adding to the higher levels of my products that I am in the process of creating.
Excellent stuff!!!!!
Cheers,

Great Tips guys, I’ll try it out and come back to tell you more on it.
As always, Schefren proves he’s king of content. Even if he hasn’t thought of it on his own and just happened to stumble upon it.
Thanks and keep it coming…
Well, I did not think of using related tags for YouTube, but this is a breakthrough! Thanks for the tip! :)
Good tips, keep them coming. I’ve been thinking about adding video and differentiate against other interactive marketing and health care related blogs.
http://jlefevere.blogspot.com
Yup, Great idea. I just did my very first youtube video day before yesterday and I’m going to try this right now!
thanks guys!
Excellent tips Rich and Brad.

Thanks for the great tips. You guys provide very useful information.

Good tips.. really liked the first one.
Ever considered an Intern by the way?
I mean who doesn’t love some cheap/free labor for the summer ;)
Or at least run a contest for it.
Either way, consider it sometime.
Your Friend,

Great – someone just learned how to turn Youtube into junk mail. This idea is reprehensible to me. Tags are meant to help viewers find what they want. Your suggestion to manipulate tags to drive traffic for your own commercial gain sickens me.
Go sell some more Amway door to door and leave the internet alone.
Thanks for the great tips guys! ~Lisa
The tips are quiet useful thanks for sharing info!!!
Very useful tip there, thanks. I’ll give it a try
How you think when the economic crisis will end? I wish to make statistics of independent opinions!
this may sound absurd, but how do you locate the existing tags and keywords for an existing youtube video?
Rich and Brad,
Thanks for the great tips and the other tips included in the many comments. These are two tactics I will definitely be using!
Much appreciated.
