In my last blog post, I talked with you about how the live 24 hour Ustream video broadcast played a MAJOR part in the success of our GPS Coaching Program launch.
In fact, it almost overshadowed everything else–to the point where we had to scramble to make some last-minute tactical changes to the launch sequence.
The video broadcast was bigger than any of us had ever imagined. I even suggested that you put one together to promote your own business, and several of you chimed in to say you were planning to do exactly that.
Well, as it always goes in this business, what was once groundbreaking has now become the norm…
Because in the past several weeks, I’ve seen a number of marketers announcing their own Ustream broadcasts.
They’re seeing the tremendous potential to reach thousands of viewers at once. And they realize how easily it can be done (not to mention the fact that it’s FREE).
So these action-takers are running full speed ahead. And it only goes to prove the point I was making with Silver Bullet #6 inside "The Uncertainty Syndrome: Entrepreneur’s Emergency".
You remember that one, right? (waiting while everyone scrambles for their copy) Okay, I’ll let you off the hook…
Silver Bullet #6 talked about embracing the awesome power of social psychological marketing. And the Ustream broadcast portrayed this perfectly in several aspects…
Some of those comments were funny, some rude, some outrageous, and some completely inappropriate. But the very fact that you could instantly talk with a thousand other people about something that was happening RIGHT NOW was truly remarkable…and more than a little frightening.
Because if a few of you didn’t like what I was saying, you could respond with negative comments. Which might have led to a few more jumping in. Then a few more. And before you know it, we might have had a virtual Rich Schefren hate-fest going on.
But in the same respect, it could go the complete opposite direction. All it takes is a few people to become raving fans, and others will follow. This turns into a mass of die-hard believers who will eat up any word you say. And before you can say Barack Obama, you’ve achieved maven status in your market.
(Not to say I’m an Obama fan, but social marketing has played a MAJOR part in his lightning fast rise to prominence…and very well may get him elected President).
We wanted to make this very simple and straightforward. So we opened our offices (and our lives) to the world while answering some questions and directing viewers to download a free report.
But as the word got out to what I was doing, it spread throughout the IM world and brought thousands of curious visitors our way. And once they got there and saw all the others chatting inside, they felt like they were a part of the group.
So this was social marketing in its purest form–pulling thousands together to create an event that generated a monster buzz that pulled EVEN MORE thousands into the group.
When the Manifesto hit the web and became an overnight sensation, we were suddenly inundated with a tidal wave of "manifestos" from every conceivable angle and niche.
Copywriting. Traffic generation. Blogging. Email marketing, You name it–somebody wrote it. A few of them even blatantly ripped off my design, making only minor changes before publishing it as their own.
So we knew we were onto something big. And we got that very same feeling after signing off from the broadcast.
So what should you takeaway from this?
Simple–take full advantage of the social marketing landscape and the opportunities it presents you. And don’t be afraid to try something new, something different.
For example, when I was pondering the manifesto idea, more than one prominent marketer told me I was out of my mind for handing out all that powerful info for free.
"Are you CRAZY, Rich?, they cried. "You can get 97 bucks for this easy–if not more!"
But I had a revolutionary idea: Give it away, build a following of die-hard believers, then market to those people.
And guess what? It worked out pretty darn well. But it didn’t happen with just one person. Or two. Or even two thousand.
It happened with ALL those people telling ALL their friends how much they dug the report. And they told theirs. And so on. And so on.
In other words, social marketing gave my manifesto life….and that life has changed me and my business forever.
Same deal with the 24 hour Ustream video. When somebody threw it out there on a pre-launch brainstorming call, I heard more than a little chuckling. In fact, somebody began comparing me to Jerry Lewis and his telethon.
But the more we fleshed it out, the more potential we saw this thing having. And the more we started loving the idea…
Next thing you know, we’ve got 27,000 people logging on to watch me barrel through 26 hours of non-stop Q and A. And they gobbled up every minute of it.
See what I mean?
And what’s really cool about all this is we’re not stopping there…
Right now, we’re testing some new, breakthrough technologies inside our GPS coaching program. And the initial reports are all thumbs up!
Soon, the word will get out and social marketing will kick in once again. And just like that, everyone will be using this stuff to help establish their name and grow their businesses.
Kind of like a content-rich free report. Or a 24 hour online broadcast. ;)
So tap into what’s at your disposal and pump it for all its worth. Because Silver Bullet #6 may just lead you to a GOLD MINE.
To Higher Profits,
Rich
P.S. How’s social marketing working for you? Are you experiencing some mind-blowing results? Or do you find yourself still struggling with Constraint #6–following the same outdated marketing tactics?
Let me know in the comments section below. I’d love to hear your story.

26 hours thats crazy, I am sure you went through some questions a few times.
The UStream broadcast was great Rich and I commend you for lasting the entire time :)
I do find it fascinating to experiment to find more and more ways to connect at a deeper level with our audience.
I think at the end of the day, the deeper you connect the bigger impact you’ll have… and the bigger the impact, the more loyal the person/customer will be.
Dear Sir,
Pissed off……Is that the best you can do?
Your kids go on line. Sure that is a mild
term in comparison to some we all have
read. The difference is we lend credibility
to such trash.
Your daughter coming up…..what’s that
Daddy? I know I’m making a mountain
out of a molehill. Just think about it next
time. Sincerely, Philip Jensen
Hey Phil it is 2007 not 1967!!
Phil…
All one can do with your commment (which unfortunately we have to read) about the word “pissed” is Laugh and send you Blessings!
Um…. huh?
Thank you Philip, you are absolutely right. Language like that should be reserved for the bars, not used in a public forum. The FCC has even had the audacity to allow it on the radio. On my own online community based website no foul language or inappropriate images are allowed.
Certainly a sign of the declining moral times, eh ?
The manifesto was a big eye-opener for me…. as well as the 26-hour live stream (which was unbelievable, btw). But what got me to follow Rich was not only his attention to detail, but the value he brings to the table through his content and interaction and the sincerity he does it with throughout. Its the light that cuts through the fog. Simply brilliant.
I have had tremendous success using the social media tool Twitter. My moniker is SmartWoman (follow me at http://twitter.com/smartwoman)and I have received friendships, business deals, traffic to my website which led to sales, invitations to speak, and joint ventures because of the exposure I have built for myself. But, honestly, I credit my network, not me, for the successes. It’s like having an extended family. Their support humbles me completely. My gratitude can barely be expressed about the appreciation I have for my peeps.
The coolest part of social marketing is the idea that you can be unique, have a personality, and have people really dig it and relate to you. I’m a total fanatic about the power of the female entrepreneur worldwide and that’s what I like to promote. Plenty of other people, of their own freewill and volition, think I’m good at doing that. It’s such a compliment to be welcomed so generously and it not only leads to financial success but deep satisfaction in life. I want to continue deepening my brand and my presence and keep building. It’s fun and I love it! :-)
Together, we are stronger!
Vicki Flaugher, the original SmartWoman
I always enjoy your posts and your writings but I guess it is just too far away from where many of us are in out marketing efforts.
While about all of those who read these posts and the emails are your prospective customers, I would guess that a good 90% make less money than they spend on products, tools, memberships, hosting etc. and therefore must work to pay the bills.
This means that they will not have the ability to pay (in time) for any kind on broadcast. They struggle to do the basics of the “old outdated marketing tactics”. Time and money are keeping many of us from achieving what we know we can.
I also find it fascinating that you talk about taking your business to the next level and you have helped many other upper echelon marketers do just that but they keep selling the same old stuff that they have abandoned. Isn’t that why we are also seeing a lot of products using the now very tired “they’ll hate me for telling you this but I don’t care. They are ripping you off…” marketing. Nothing new, nothing different in fact nothing.
The answer is that, despite all the high-faluting words and methods it all boils down to the same thing. Getting traffic to your website using links.
title=”The Real Truth”
I am in Rich’s program and can say that Rich is a strong proponent of doing QUALITY products not the same old riff raff that everybody else is selling. Also his method works for everyone big or small. I know because I am not a big business. I have seen my business increase in just a week by 50% since implementing his method. I expect it to increase even more in a short period of time. I have seen the same old tired hype a lot of online marketer’s push and am pretty cynical. Having watched Rich for about 2 years and judging him according to the fruit his method produced, I decided to try his program. He is telling the truth and I highly recommend that anyone serious about doing an honest ethical business whether online or offline, get this material. It will increase your business and give you a balanced life. By the way, I have an MBA so I can judge this with an educated view. I have some people in my group that have nothing more than a high school education and they are doing the same methods with the same or better success as me. No, I am in no way paid or compensated by Rich or his company but I commented because of Rich’s ethics and honesty which is refreshing.
I am a follower of Rich, and I is a member of the GFS coaching program. This is a great program that I hope will help me to grow to the next level.
I watched the U-Stream 24-hr marathon and was pretty impressed at how one person could answer question after question after question. This marathon impressed and intriqued me. I knew that Rich was someone I wanted to follow. He was someone who enjoyed helping others and if anyone could help me it would be him, so I signed up for the GFS coaching program as soon as it was available. (Investment into my future)
I am new to the Internet Marketing business and have not made one dollar online. I have been tuned into everything that could help me educate myself and learn to become successful on the Internet. You could say that I have developed a passion for this and have set a mission for myself to fullfill.
As far as taking business to the next level, I first have to get through this first level but when I do, I know I will excel.
I agree that you must have traffic and conversions and that this is probably the most important. I have none of this right now. I will be able to start planning and approaching the next level, once I solve my traffice and conversion dilema.
I have spent more money buying products, websites, memberships and hosting but I have not made one dollar on the Internet. I like to think of this costs as start-up fees for my successful future online business.
I am not ready for the U-Stream or video as of yet. One may say that I am shy, just not comfortable with that at the moment.

Strange, in these days when it comes to our awareness that a huge economic bubble has bursted and leaves likely thousands of people with big big losses, it is obvious that this bubble was a “social media phenomenon”: people may follow the perceived main stream even if it leads to their own failure!! That’s confirmed by what you say at the beginning of your post: have some bad comments in your broadcast and all of a sudden you have a hate campaign against yourself or – luckily – the other way round. My concern: Isn’t this a highly dangerous thing, this social media craze ??!! I mean: if only a few negative comments of some listeners may cause a hate stampede against someone – what does this tell us about the average IQ of the audience?
For me that’s proof enough that I should stay away from social media places – that’s obviously overcrowded by people who do not have own opinions but have lots of time to share their … nothing. Greetings from Brazil.
Wolfgang- I tend to agree that the apparent IQ of posts in many social arenas is quite embarrassing. And personally, I find many to often be a complete waste of time. It seems, however, you’d agree that in person most people are careful to demonstrate intelligence.
My observation is that while online social networks are still a bit adolescent locker room-esque in the communication that occurs, it is improving. And I think social networks are hear to stay.
I think Rich regularly shows that it’s possible to bring reason to places of mass emotion and impulse. I’m impressed with the dignity certain people are able to show others, even when those others act without any themselves.
I applaud Rich and Team for their efforts, and am honored to have so much shared with those of us more on the fringes.
These perhaps are moments of great human experimentation and even art. And taken with a light heart, can be quite fun.
Greetings from Japan
Well Rich …
You are certainly like the guy I read about a long time ago responding to a question about protecting intellectual property. He that said that rather than try to enforce copyright or trademark protections, he and his people could Create products faster than his competition could Copy them. THAT was their protection. …
And YOU certainly have THAT process down.
As far as Social Marketing goes, I got stopped cold with everything web-related a couple of months ago — and several times in the last two years — with several technology issues, which should be straightened out by end of next week; plus the bank credit crisis didn’t help certain plans either.
But it’s really my Inner-Constraints — fears of many things — that keep me avoiding certain risks. It’s amazing how well and quietly a negatively programmed limbic system does it’s work. It’s almost like my subconscious covertly makes me create problems in order to avoid — as someone once said — the Curtain Coming Up on my show.

P.S. Really looking forward to receiving your first Cashmaps, BTW.
Hi Rich:
In a comment to you during your launch I mentioned that you would soon be copied. It was inevitable. I’ve been keeping an observant eye on emails from other Internet Marketers, paying attention to their ‘new’ copy, their new offerings. Suddenly there is a flood of videos and I’m noticing as well invitations to participate in revealing those aspects of our businesses which we think are holding us back. It was a brain banger going through it with you, the leader of course, and I don’t think my psyche has the strength to pull apart those aspects again.
Luckily for all of us, everybody wants to be a coach now. Vince Lombardi would be so proud!
But what you have done has intrigued me. I’m trying to figure out ways to put into play something similar to what you did. And I’ve been suggesting it to clients and associates. Some look at me like I am nuts, and then I give them an overview of a grand vision and they start to get it. And it has made me look at many ‘doable’ situations with fresh eyes. You made it seem to easy and transparent. And because you took the lead and put it out there and kept stressing that doing the 26 hours was ‘free’ it did a few things. ‘Free’ eliminated barriers to entry, and because we were able to watch and observe you, your live demonstration was similar to what Emeril does with every episode of his cooking shows – he teaches us how to prepare a dish and the techniques required to do it, and Bam it all to hell Rich, you too have done that and you have made it look so simple, easy, and most importantly doable.
I don’t know if you ever participated in AOL back in the early days – say around 1996 – back when we were still using 512k floppy disks to back up all the chats. I used to participate in a weekly chat with a number of fans of a stage/music/tv celebrity. It was a riot and it formed some long term friendships which are maintained to this day. When I saw the log and the questions and comments scrolling on the screen it reminded me of those earlier days of those chats and the endless Instant Messages. So I guess it took a few years to harness the activity and to ‘repurpose’ it for commercial use!
Since your launch I have joined Twitter (and yes, I follow you) @known and I am awed with what I am learning. It is phenomenal to get such a quick snapshot and sense of what is going on in our industry via short thought spurts from all those marketers.
I guess what this has done is eliminate my fears of participation and hesitations of becoming involved with a larger group of like-minded people.
Prior to this I rarely watched online videos and I certainly didn’t spend a lot of time on YouTube because at the time I viewed it as something silly and I really didn’t have the time to watch what I perceived as a bunch of people making videos of their pets running in circles. I chose to get my entertainment from other venues.
Since your launch I have spent considerable time watching and listening to videos and telecasts and signing up on as many mailing lists that I think are viable for me to learn something. I am embarrassed to admit my arrogance and preconceived notions almost kept me from experiencing the epiphany of tremendous opportunity. I am definitely heading into a major “me too, me too” stage where this is something I will incorporate.
I am looking forward to giving back to those who have unknowingly been teach me this past year.
I am seeing with fresh eyes the tremendous opportunities within my local business community to incorporate this technology.
Besides, it just looks like too much fun. True passion and enthusiasm ready to be explored, displayed and used to infuse possibilities in the minds of many.
Gee, Rich, did I answer your question? :)
Also, don’t be so involved with your GPS group that you neglect the rest of us. We miss you when your brain is away from us.
Have a great weekend.

Thanks for the takeaway lesson Rich.
I am sure to take more advantage of the social marketing landscape from now on and the fact that they’re free gives me no reason not to.
And the best example you gave was how Obama used social marketing to get a lot of attention. Brilliant.

Brent I am not quite sure if I understood your post as far as being too far away from where many of us are in our marketing. This is a media that is basically free with minimal investment in even just a web cam. It in my opinion is more about getting out there and doing something different that will bring you the attention of your market. Something that really sets you apart from your competitors. Being a client of Rich’s and certainly not an upper echelon client, I know from association that Rich has brought many of us not so upper echelon cients to the next level. I also know that Rich is adament to ALL his clients that we operate our businesses with integrity and provide only quality and growth promoting products to our customers with customer satisfaction as a critical factor. I also know that Rich has removed people from his program because of their choice to promote products that may not be in the markets best interest. I have been with Rich for over two years and have never seen a man so dedicated to the success of his clients in my life. I saved more money being a client than I have spent being a client. I can say with 100 percent surity that if there is a client of Rich’s that is “ripping off people” that they do not have Rich’s blessings or backing for that product. I am not sure, but think not, that you are or have been a client ever, because I am sure if you ask any of us in the GPS group we would all say the same thing I have just said. Sorry if I sound a little miffed, but you kind of ruffled my sweet little feathers. Hugs Tenderspirit

A certain big name marketer claims that most social media has a “Horrible ROI”. (I’m quoting him.)
But there’s no doubt that social marketing works in truckloads.
Live casting on UStream has its severe limitations I believe as a medium because it is much harder to structure than a direct broadcast.
But it is an absolutely FABULOUS approach for building relationships and, as you say, developing ‘Die Hard’ followers to whom you can later market products and services.
I guess this big name marketer doesn’t mean UStream either, particularly in the way you have used it.
:-)
My best as always

____________
The UStream broadcast touched on several issues all at once: Transparency being at the forefront of it all. The broadcast was, as Seth Godin emphasizes something we should all strive for in our marketing and business endeavors, “remarkable; worthy of having a remark”. There, it succeeded.
My takeaway from the broadcast:
Transparency + authenticity + free valuable content + social media= getting an audience’s attention
Following this method of “social psychological marketing”, businesses stand a better chance of engaging viewers and building trust for their products and services. It’s putting the authentic and sincere relationship you have with your audience first and ahead of the profit. People buy from people.

Yep, Social Marketing 2.0 has spurned a ton of new products, services and information products!
It’s an incredible marketing medium that we are implemeting, as we speak.
IF we want to thrive in the next wave of internet profits, we must jump on the Social Marketing 2.0 bandwagon.
Rich, thanks for putting out such incredible information.

Social marketing is a new concept and least understood. People are geared to SEO and website optimizations and so on. There is a change taking place with the advent of twitter and all these newer social sites. Its overwhelming and time consuming. work and to keep up with is very taxing and burdensome.
Social Media? You must, yes…Hmmmmm

Rich,
You’ve hit the nail on the head.
Since your broadcast, I have ramped up my social media use and am building “friends” and business associates.
I currently run a weekly BlogTalkRadio.com program entitled “Internet Marketing Today” and it’s getting traction
I even have guests appearing on the show. Mind you, I’ve only started one month ago!
I plan on using UStreamTV in the near future.
Silver Bullet #6 is now how I run my business, I will not be denied, I will succeed in attaining my business goals!
Thank you so much for what you and your team had done for me…

There are two basic types of people, those who will do no matter what and those who will not do no matter what.
Lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink. I have an awesome product that is selling in 12 countries and counting. I spend NO money in advertising, and have been profitable since day 9. That is AFTER I spent the money for 5 years of Domain, and Hosting.
We do YouTube, Facebook, and many types of other advertising, and are being treated like royalty everywhere we speak.
Here you have a man that is DESPERATE to see you succeed, and yet you tear him down. I do not get it. Do not try and explain it to me either.
Rich, I owe you a LOT my friend. You continue to teach me more for free than my professors in college did for the tons of money I spent.
One day soon we will meet… You will know me by the HUGE SMILE surrounded by bald head.
God Bless,

Congratulations to Rich! Another innovative idea brought to fruition successfully creating fun and value for thousands and ensuring a successful product launch! That’s Rich – innovative. A leader.
Rich the value you bring to me is Inspiration!
And…
Some very interesting comments. I bet 95% of the people showing up here don’t read the comments already posted. They are too eager to get “their something to say” down. It’s too bad. The comments teach and provide as much insight about human nature as Rich. Maybe more.
Rich does the things he does to move people to action, to stir deep reactions within people’s consciousness. Comments are a peek into those re-actions.
What message is Rich sending with what he does?
Do as I DO. NOT as I SAY.
So what DOES Rich Schefren do? In his post Rich speaks about so many people saw his success doing GREAT IDEA #1 and so they went and duplicated GREAT IDEA #1 by the thousands. No original thinking. Now GREAT IDEA #1 is no longer new, novel or original – actually quite the norm.
What they didn’t get is that IDEA #1 was GREAT because it was New, Never been done before, and it was ORIGINAL.
Same now with the 24 hour broadcast. When Rich did it a few weeks ago, it was New. Innovative. Bold. Never been done. Unheard of.
Well that’s now killed. It’s soon to be “old hat”.
So what’s a marketer to do?
BECOME Rich Schefren! Well, not really – there is only one Rich – but your own version of Rich. Rich is where he is, as fast as he is, because he doesn’t use other people’s tried out ideas. He CREATES his own and then BRAVELY puts them to the test. This 24 hour broadcast could have bombed. Rich just put himself out there without knowing. That takes COURAGE. He was the first.
So, I wonder how many coming here to post after me will read this comment, scratch their heads and begin to wonder… “What can I do that has never been done before? What innovative idea can I bring to the online community or my audience? How can I bring unique value to the people so that they rave over me and the value I have created for them?”
Probably Very few will … they will continue to copy.
And the rest of the world loses out. We lose all the gifts of all those innovative and bold ideas not yet brought to life that are just waiting for someone with enough courage.
I may just post this comment on my blog even though my blog has nothing to do with internet marketing – it is not my audience.
Creating this comment made me reflect and think and will hopefully make others do the same. And that is what my blog is about.

P.S. – If you look, all of the extremely successful (those we all can agree are successful whether it be monetarily or otherwise) were all innovators. Original thinkers. They cut their own path and walked it. They DID NOT walk the path that another had cleared. Here, I’ll list a few – Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, President Kennedy, President Lincoln, The Buddha, Van Gogh, Thoreau, Bill Hicks, The Beatles … (I think you can continue the list from here). All innovators. All unique.
I’m just getting started with marketing (including social marketing), and it’s all a bit overwhelming at the moment. Sifting through the fluff to find the gems is quite a challenge.
And I have to ask: if *everyone* is now putting together a Ustream video, how exactly do you stand out from the crowd? When is it best to stick with the tried-and-true tactics, vs. trying something new and different? (and Yes, I know the correct answer is: “Use the one which works best”) Yet there still seems to be something missing…

I hope all of them. So we don’t lose all the gifts of all those innovative and bold ideas not yet brought to life that are just waiting.
Amy , Rich ideas are known to mostly the internet marketing subscribers, you can use it in way to get new subscribers in your niche, there are literally hundreds of niches.
So I don’t believe this idea will become ‘old’ anytime soon.
It will take lot more time, its for you to use it in your niche to make a killing.
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your reply!
I am very aware that Rich’s ideas are known to internet marketers and they can be used to get traction in any niche.
That is not my point. I was pointing out (even as Rich pointed out above) that people were not using the ideas as much as they were cloning the behavior.
Rich’s success is not from doing a 24 hour Ustream. It is from BEING THE FIRST to do a 24 hour Ustream. In other words being ORIGINAL.
So copycats (now doing 24 hour Ustream themselves) are missing the boat.
See here: http://is.gd/4mZG
I discuss Rich’s post and my comment and point out plenty of ORIGINAL people who are/were massively successful. Rich is COMPLETELY original. I think he’s brilliant and very courageous = massive success
Everyone is free to use and copy someone else’s ideas all they want, however that is not what is going to make them stand apart from the ‘crowd’.
So it’s not so much about an idea becoming old, but looking to see what idea can you have that no one has ever done before?
Merci Rich

Hi guys
I don’t agree that we need to go and find something different – there are SO FEW people using ustream.tv and viddler.com to market to other niches, and not that many in the internet marketing world. Gary Vaynerchuk, Joel Comm, Ed Dale…can’t think of many more doing regular shows.
Rich’s 24 broadcast so inspired me I not only joined the GPS programme (which is awesome and stretching my brain a LOT) I went and set up a regular Money Gym tv show at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-money-gym-live and every 3pm BST (2pm GMT / UST) I’m there, sweating with fear in case nobody comes and asks wealth creation or money questions…..that’s the bit that scares me most, but once I email my list and twitter a bit, they start coming over to see what’s happening…it’s so exciting!
My clients/family/fans get on the chat and moderate it for me, while I take questions via the chat, the blog or live via telephone (using InstantWebinar.com – so easy to use)
I don’t think it’s necessarily about being first in the world to do something, but if you think it will add value to your market and your brand, why not be first to YOUR market – you can’t tell me that won’t make you a maven pretty damn quick.
So I’m not ashamed to tell you that I’m going to host the wealth creation education world’s first tv Wealth-A-Thon on Saturday 27th December.
Just trying to decide if I can go 24 hours or should I be less ambitious and go 12 hours? Nah, it’s gotta be 24 really!
Rich generously shared how to construct a report yesterday on his Friday tv show for BGS and GPS clients and again, I’m inspired. I’m going to release a report based on everything I’ve learned since writing The Money Gym book back in 2003-2004 and give it away. People need this info in these troubled times.
I’m not ashamed to “stand on the shoulders of giants” and for all those who think they can’t do something because it’s already been done by ONE PERSON in the world, well, that’s just daft! Be the leader in your market.
Where would all those high street coffee shops be if they thought like that?
Find something that inspires you, find a way to do it and make it your own style, and just go for it.
But I would say that, being a 7 on Kolbe Quick Start! LOL
Have fun whatever social networking you do, that’s the key!
Good luck to all
Nicola

HERE IS ANOTHER NEW IDEA AT http://www.gettricks.com . Would love for anyone to come and comment on and let’s create more together to make our community even better. Take care. Vic
Rich,
Congrats again for a great marketing idea whose time is now. We love this sort of stuff and the challenge is to sense what will work and how to cash in on it. You have that insight.
Kind regards,

Congratulations to Rich Schefren! Another innovative idea ensuring a successful product launch!
we get to learn stuff that most marketers would not try until they know it works.
But can it work for everyone ? It depends on how well each one follows the steps and gets it right.
Regards
Jeff
I agree Jeff. Rich has a great keen insight for Innovation, new ideas and strategies for the market.
He knows how to make things happen.

Great stuff Rich,
I commend on your candor and on putting yourself “out there” to be a target. That takes confidence and smarts.
Hey, when you know you’re doing something good, you have to believe that majority of good hard-working business people out there will appreciate what you’re teaching us…and not worry about the few negative excuse-makers who will try to bash you over the head!
And you give it away freely. That whole concept in itself is priceless (not pun intended). That is also the concept that is the foundation of my company.
And that concept is: Give to Give (vs. give to get). No strings attached.
Give from your heart, sincerely try to give someone value, whether it be information, tips, advice or even a show of appreciation or gratitude to someone special in your life, a client, a partner, a prospect, etc.
“Give to give”, no strings attached, and you will get everything you want. It’s the oldest concept in business building (and in our personal lives too), but surely the most overlooked.
Thanks Rich for sharing your knowledge. Keep the good stuff coming, for us who appreciate it.
Best,
Jim Rodante
You can also give to give, right here, try it free and see what it does for you…

The Ustream event was a masterstroke, make no doubt about that. You’ve set an example and others are following it. As long as we all remember that we each have our own thing to offer, so that even if we use Ustream too, we’re not just copycats. Follow the example, but don’t just imitate. The difference is subtle but important. I hope you know what I mean.
PS – I have a blog traffic teleseminar today at 3pm eastern. Head on over to Remarkablogger and sign up if you’re interested in learning long-term excellent blog traffic growth strategies and tactics.
Hi Rich,
I joined your program this summer and the content is awesome. We’ve used several of your ideas so far, and will implement many more.
We did our first U-Stream yesterday…no results to report yet. We Twittered it and also posted it on Facebook and My Space.
We also created a free viral report and we are giving it to those who aren’t signing up for our virtual tele-summit. (It’s our version of a Manifesto report for our industry.)
Why reinvent the wheel when we can model a master?
Thank you for offering exactly the kind of coaching program we need. One filled with great and actionable content for people that are interested in building a real internet business.
You’re the best!
Gail
Well yeah…I’m reading your every blog post after that UStream show :)
Hi Rich,
Thank you for doing the Ustream broadcast…you did an amazing job. Video is the best way to tell your story and I am glad to see you embrace it.
Keep up the great work and when you want some additional creative ideas for video…get in touch.

Hi Rich,
I just wanted to say that I appreciate your brilliance and heart. I am happy for you and everyone that is touched by your awareness and gifts. Keep up the great work!

Things on the net are moving faster than ever. Something that is new and revolutionary today becomes status quo within weeks on the net.
You are making ustream as popular as John Reese and others have made twitter.
The fast movers will reap the most benefits. Keep paving the way!

Rich, you are right when you talk about all the marketers that are doing the ustreem thing, but I seriously doubt that any one of them would try a 26 hour sprent like you did. So when you look at it from that frame of mind, I think that your status of mister unique, take it to the edge marketer is still safe. Granted, I could always be wrong, and it could be that by my calling out the im comunity, someone steps in and desides to try and beet your streem indurence. Yet even if they do, it doesn’t change the fact that you were the first one to do it. So either way, you win.
anyway, thanks for the read, Teresa Blaes
P.S
I also wrote a few thoughts about how the presidentual candidates are using social media to market themselves more efectively and how this election won’t be desided by the media elite. Look for the post called social media goes to Washington.
I have been literally blown away by the power of social media in the past month. My site, an alternative news site, http://weirdnewsfiles.com has had a minimum of 5,000 unique visitors per day with several peaks in the 40,000 range – all arriving through social media recommendations by other web visitors posted at sites like StumbleUpon, Reddit, Facebook, Digg and Yahoo Buzz. At the bottom of all of my posts I offer “share this” icons (a great social media plug in) where people can recommend the posts to friends and social media sites. If you don’t have this plug in you really ought to investigate it.
I am in Rich’s GPS program right now as well, so intend to use social media and his broad-based knowledge to maximize the potential of social media.
Thanks,
Drew Waters

Hi Rich,
I guess even the Gurus have to put up with a lot of crap if that word is OK to use. I have constraints but know they can be overcome with time. I just have to pick up the pace get and going over the hurdles before time runs out.
Thanks!!!
Rich,
I’m continuously impressed with how you manage to stay on the edge of marketing and technology. You inspire many and you’re a servant leader at the same time. It’s exciting to see you be a mobile innovator.

I have two teenage daughters and they are the definition of “social marketing”- their lives actually revolve around it – What Rich has outlined in the GPS Program will benefit my teenagers as well as my business because it’s based on intelligent logic and and correct thinking. One week of GPS training has allowed me to help both my teenage girls improve their grades and deliver homework worthy of recognition. The GPS material is for people that are ready to transform their lives into an “elite” category. Put all the copywriting and marketing hype aside and take a hard look at what kind of business Rich has managed to build in a very short time. I don’t give out pats-on-the-backs to many people, but if you want to learn from someone who has been mentored by the best then look to Rich or wait and you can join my coaching program when I finish the GPS program.

I can’t comment on USstream because I have no idea what it is but, seeing as I will never be able to use audio or video on my websites, that’s no great loss.
Regarding Social Sites…..I know what they are.
So far I have avoided being suckered into joining any.
I don’t understand this “friends” online thing.
I’ve been selling 4 years and I have no contacts that I “do business” with, or even “talk” business with.
As for friends – they are people you know personally not anonymous strangers who could be anyone.
Personally, I don’t even use my own picture on my websites – any stock photo will do.
I’ll never see anyone online and they’ll never see me.
Social sites? Very badly named. You can’t be social on a computer.
Hey Rich,
You always come up with great ideas that are above the rest! I believe we share a lot in common and that’s what makes us leaders, get this material it will increase your business here is an example of what I mean http://www.knowledgetosee.com See you in a few months!
