hi all,

rich schefren here with an update for those of you who are chomping at the bit to get your bonuses.

we are getting a list of all of our buyers (from jeff) and we'll be sending out an email giving you a rundown of what by when.

if wednesday comes and goes... and you haven't received an email from us, then it's possible you aren't on our list of buyers - but please make sure you check your spam folder before determining your status.

i'll post in here (this post) in the comments section what you should do if you haven't heard from us on thursday morning.

thanks for everyone's support.

Hi, Rich and everyone,

Another great product. Jeff is top-notch. Good content...

For Denise Gosnell, Dan, et al, I agree about the need for planning for multiple payment processor options, along with *prior* stress testing, proper server configuration (including RAID, load balancing, back-up and fail-over servers, etc.).

However, here's a tiny insight into strategy (perhaps). Now, let's think about this. A web site, just like any database, can have challenges with contention, i.e, too many multiple and concurrent connections. This is a given. Sooooo, thinking.

Why would some of PLF2 sales copy which I received from several promotions include the "advice" to... umm, how did they say it... "get there early and click refresh until..." Woah. Refresh? Ummm, that is like asking your clients to create a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) on your web site, dude. Guess what, it works; this contention can cause a svr crash.

Refreshing pages will create MORE contention and stress on the servers (as "advice" from the *marketing* materials being used). Accident? ;) Do ya think they don't have a clue? Na.

Devil's advocate here, so please indulge this thought process. Perhaps it's not a "mistake." E.g., if your promotion is so hot (and, yes, I bought it) that the pent-up *demand* can "crash your servers," well then, that must be more "social proof"... Right? Or, is it -- just another clever and useful strategy to help control supply and demand? ;-)

Hmm... just think about it. (They can afford good IT and IA).
Very smart folks and outstanding marketers for us to follow.
Heck, we can use this same strategy, too. Others have.....

Don't think for a second that these guys aren't on the ball!

Regards,
Cheri S.
