Hi Rich, the book arrived from Amazon today, (along with another couple), I was keen to buy it after listening to the audio on my MP3 player. (It just takes 4-6 weeks to get to New Zealand...).

I just thought I would indicate that putting authors and their work on your blog is a good idea. -I am always on the lookout to find more really decent information.

(One of the other books I bought mentions you quite a bit at the beginning too: Michael Masterton's "Ready, Fire, Aim!")

Rich,
Your interview w/Joseph Jaffe was terrific and very helpful/applicable. I am taking notes, marking it up and plan to implement parts of it in the near future.

Concerning your blog-post preamble to the interview, I would have to say that I agree. We need more blogs on this type of topic. You are the only one I know focused on Internet marketing who blogs on ethics or ethics-related issues. My contribution is more on the positive side of what is done with money after it is made.

Certainly money is amoral, it can be used for good ends or bad, self-destructive ends. You provided some examples of the negative or bad use of money by those who have significant amounts of it. I would like to contribute with examples of the good use of significant amounts of money: Bill Gates.

My first point is that Bill Gates is not perfect, he is not a saint. The U.S. government's anit-trust action is some indication of that, regardless of the result. Ditto the European Union's legal action. Also Gates and Microsoft have their share of enemies.

But Gates is using the vast majority of his fortune and the vast majority his friend Warren Buffet's fortune to seek to conquor diseases via vaccine development like malaria, which kills more children and mothers globally than any other disease, and HIV, which also is a global scourge. He also contributes to think tanks in order to influence policy wonks who advise presidential candidates because he knows that U.S. policy is significant in the struggle to conquor global poverty. He has been very wise and strategic in the way he has approached all of this, even at one point seeking advice online from various experts, including Nobel prize winners. Like you, he also reads omnivorously.

What Gates is doing will positively impact 10s, maybe hundreds of millions of people globally for multiple generations. And since we are talking about $61 billion, he makes up for a lot of foolish, self-destructive spending. But there are ways that complement his that others could do to achieve some of the same ends. Examples would be K-12 schools to increase literacy dramatically, capital provision for poor countries through micro-lending and venture capital for small business. This could be done first in the few countries in Africa that are well governed: Rwanda, Botswana, Mauritius, then with lessons learned more broadly.

Anyway, thanks for raising the issue of what is done with the money when it is earned. Keep up the good work.

Hi Rich

I got a quick question. Remember the home study course that sold for half price at the beginning of march? (and I took advantage of it)

my question: I have paid for the course more than a month ago, but it has still not arrived. So what is going on? does it usually take this long? should I be worried? the course is paid for, so as a paying customer I expect to get what I paid for :-)

Living in Faroe Islands is not always the best place to be, not a lot of people know where it's at, and it's not uncommon that mail goes to Ireland instead of Faroe Islands.

The reason why I'm rude enough to send this as a blog post is because I've sent a few emails to stretegic profits asking about what's going on, but have not got a reply so far. I want that homestudy course as much as the next guy, and would be very annoyed at throwing all that money at you and not getting any value for it. I might as well have thrown the money out to sea.

I hope you understand that I write this with the utmost respect, and hope to find a solution.

Respectfully

Rich,

Just finished reading "Join The Conversation" by Joseph. Wow, he ends on a high note with Diet Coke in Georgia...but then...I couldn't sleep until I reviewed Your "Attention Age Doctrine", "Attention Age Doctrine II", and the "The Maven Matrix Manifesto" and left a comment here.

"Join the Conversation" illustrated to me why you gave out a gift earlier on your Blog, as well. "Eavesdropping on the Internet - How to know instantly and effortlessly what your competitors, prospects and customers are saying online". It's no longer available. Once again, a reason why it pays to be a regular reader of the Strategic Profits Blog. (For Eli above, that's called Scarcity and it increases value...from the book "Influence" by Robert Cialdini.)

"Join The Conversation" is also one of those books that deserves/demands a second read from me. It's funny what you pickup from Mavens along the way...Jay Abraham used to say "The 1st time you read a book it is discovery, the 2nd time is the hardest, the 3rd time and beyond is where the revelations/discoveries/insights come from." Course he used that to illustrate reading "Scientific Advertising" by Claude Hopkins multiple times. But, my first read "Join The Conversation" was a revelation with lots of insights because of the preparation from the New Beginnings event in Orlando.

Vaynerchuk knocked the ball out of the park for me in illustrating this power of Joining the Conversation. He's over the top, but he illustrates it well and he connects. (I think he enjoyed havin' a little fun on the stage at Jay's expense too.)

Finally, thank you so much for all the incredible content you produce. I enjoyed reading all the comments above to see the Conversation it is producing.

Does it get any better than this? I mean it WORKS!

I can't sleep now...gotta get the Blog fixed and turn on Comments...ASAP!

Thanks again,

Karlyn

Hello Strategic Profiters!

Well, this is true:

1 week ago, I listened to Rich's interview about "Join the Conversation" - I ordered the book

I went to Facebook and got my account

Never been there before - and just 7 days later, have just had the wildest funnest week - my entire existence will never be the same...and I have hit MOMENTUM....

I absolutely hit ABSOLUTE Momentum and "feel" the need to pass it on to my fellow Strategic Profiteers....

PREFACE: I MAKE NO AFFILIATE COMMISSION ON WHAT I AM ABOUT TO SAY - I AM PASSING THIS ON BECAUSE , if you sincerely want to kick up your momentum NOW IS THE TIME - and it IS NOT HARD - it is VERY FUN and its the hottest thing on the net right now. When you get there you will see all the familiar internet marketing gurus ----

If any of you have NOT yet gotten your own Facebook account started (its FREE) and kicked off your social networking universe - all I can say is
don't delay one more second ----FACEBOOK is kickin hot hot hot - and if you want to move into Absolute Momentum , I would be happy to extend a warm welcome to you at Facebook and show the ropes --

Step 1: If you don't have a Facebook account, yet - go sign up: Facebook.com

Step 2: Definitely put your photo in your profile - Facebookies love photos of their friends - your momentum will move faster with a photo

Step 3: Go to my Facebook site: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1227423343
Invite me to be your friend

Step 4: I will accept your invitation

Step 5: I will give you the next 3 steps (very easy and TOTALLY FREE) to do that will set you FIRMLY on your social networking path

P.S. I ran into Gary Vaynerchuk on Twitter and am now following him too - its quite a bit of fun - you can hook up with him too
If you don't yet know how and why to Twitter - you can find that out too, as soon as you start at Facebook

Thank you Rich for your dedication and hyper-incredible BGS, interviews and conferences -

Most sincerely,

Dr Betsy
