Blog Content & Website Content That Gets Visitors Screaming For More!

Today we’re going to talk about creating blog content and website content that sizzles.

We’re talking about content that’ll get your visitors and prospects screaming WOW!

So much so… they’ll keep returning to your site like a…

Junkie… Jonesing For Another Content Fix!

Which reminds me…

As you probably know I’m here in Phoenix right now visiting with Infusionsoft.

I don’t travel much these days.  I used to think it’s because I don’t like to travel.

But then I realized that’s simply not true.

You see… it’s not traveling that sucks… it’s simply that my life at home…ROCKS!

So… why am I telling you this?

Because delivering great content consistently will make your prospects feel the same way about your website as I do about being home.

Better yet, when your prospects think of surfing the Internet and visiting your competitors – they’ll feel the same way I do when traveling.

It’s not that your competitors suck… it’s just spending time on your website is so much better.

So, today I am going to share with you six different types of content I’ve used to consistently get my prospects screaming for more.

It’s actually an out-take from my latest client only report for Founder’s Club.

Here they are…

1. Counter-intuitive content – an approach to solving a problem that runs counter to conventional thinking.  You can find examples of this type of content in every one of my free reports.  Why?  Because I realize it’s power to stimulate a desire for more in the minds of my prospects.  If you want an example of this approach read pages 36-37 of  The Entrepreneurial Emergency.  There you’ll find my counter-intuitive approach of working less hours to get more done.

2. Complex made simple – this is where you take something that seems complex then break it apart and make it simple to understand and use.  A good example of this is how I taught process mapping in the Internet Business Manifesto.  Many readers got so excited about it they started to use it, share it with peers and blog about it.

3. A unique process – this is where you solve a problem or challenge your prospects face with a process that you developed that’s easy to execute.  An example of this can be found in The Entrepreneurial Emergency (pages 45-46).  In the “How To Find A Great Freelancer” I share my unique process for finding untapped pools of the most talented individuals you’d never find on a freelance board.

4. Paradigm shift on the problem – this is where you share a new perspective that gets your prospects looking at their problem in a new and different way.  An example of this approach can be found on pages 38-39 of The Entrepreneurial Emergency.  In this example I show the damages and severe costs that occur when taking on a single additional project.

5. A powerful tool – this is where you give your prospects a tool that transforms something that was difficult into something easy.  An example of this can be seen in The Internet Business Manifesto where I walk readers through a step-by-step process to determine the value of their time and then show them how to use it to make outsourcing decisions.

6. Fast shortcuts to time-intensive activities – this is where you take an important task or activity that usually takes considerable time to complete and make it push-button to finish.  An example of this can be found on our website.  Check out our Reputation Management tool.  What you’ll find on this page is a automated process that will automatically subscribe you to over 20 different RSS feeds for anything you want to monitor online – like your name, your business name, important keywords for your business, your competitors, or just areas you want to get ongoing research on.

So there you have it.

Sorry I didn’t put the examples in here – but I figured you could go check out the examples that resonate with you.

Besides, if I did include all the examples, this post it would be  longer than the lines at airport security.

Now, before I go… I’m sure you’ve got questions… so lay them on me!

*******************************************************************************************

Tell me…

1 – Which of these concepts would you like me to really break down for you?

2 – Which of these do you think would be easiest for you to pull off?

3 – What am I missing?

    Hi Rich,

I like your comment about not liking to travel. It’s very true. I do a bit of travelling and working away. I’m away at the moment too. It’s always great to get back home!

I’d like to break down the counter-intuitive content technique. That’s the content that I love anyway.

I guess the easiest one for me to pull off is complex made simple. That’s what I think I’m good at.

I want to make videos showing artwork developing in time-lapse. If I can do a weekly demonstration it gives my visitors a reason to return. The feedback I get will give me direction for future demos.

I’ve just joined the Founder’s Club so I’ll check out your full report! I’m very impressed with the club by the way. There’s so much top notch info in there! I wish I’d joined ages ago…

    Kind regards,

    Carl

glad to have you on board carl!

i’m just wrapping up the report – so it’ll be sent out early next week.

i like your idea… keep me posted on how your visitors respond.

    Hi Rich

There’s no place like home. Hope you make it back soon.

The concept I’d like you to really break down for us is number 4 – Paradigm shift on the problem. Although I’d like you to deal with number 1 as well at some point.

The easiest one for me to pull off? – I think that would be “Complex Made Simple.” I like to break down tasks into smaller elements that are easier to understand.

    Thanks for another great post.

    Phil

    Hi Rich

I’m caught by the fantastic passion in your line; “it’s simply that my life at home…ROCKS!”

Let me be honest. Yes, sometimes my life absolutely rocks. And rolls. Sometimes though it’s bloody hard going.

As I inch my way towards all-seeing wisdom (LOL), I look at what or who has made things hard for me.. sometimes impossibly hard .. and I keep ending up back at my own doorstep.

Which of course is great, because it puts me in control; what’s more, I know for certain that my single greatest asset is the number of mistakes (sometimes dumb, sometimes big, sometimes both) that I’ve made.. and learned from.

Let me answer your questions in reverse order. Nr 3 – what’s missing from your list…..

One of the aspects of your work & attitude that I value and respect most, is your belief in, and focus on, working from one’s strengths.

And the other aspect of your work that I dig, is the credibility you bring to the message that success is achieveable by everyone who is willing to commit, learn and act, in the right contexts.

I am still struck by your response to a comment on a post in the past few weeks.. some lady (sorry, I can’t remember which post or the lady’s name) who was dealing with a heck of a tough combination of challenges, while working her butt off to “make it happen”. To paraphrase, you told her – both sincerely, and in my view totally correctly – that not only would she ultimately prevail, but that those same challenges would ultimately be what would make her success all the sweeter to her.

My guess is, that those words of encouragement meant a whole lot to the person in question. And to me, it summed up what’s cool about Rich Schefren. You really believe in and want success – but not just for yourself.

I suspect that one of the things that makes your life rock, is your exceptional integration of your self, your values and your strengths, into your life’s work.

So, answer to Nr 3: I believe what gets your site visitors screaming for more (and anybody can apply this).. is how you deliver real value with integrity, conviction, personality and humanity.

Nr 2 – Which of these do you think would be easiest for you to pull off? .. in my case, I guess it would be the “powerful tool” idea .. I’m a systems guy – I have two of these in the pipeline, for very different purposes, in any case.

Question Nr 1: it would be great to see you dig into the “counter-intuitive” concept. I’m thinking along the lines of the “six hats” from Edward DeBono.. but it would be cool to see how you would apply, and leverage, it.

Y’all behave down in Phoenix, now.

    All the best – Sean

    Hey Rich,

I liked the travel vs home example, and this phrase “It’s not that your competitors suck… it’s just spending time on your website is so much better.”

That’s an awesome perspective. I know others in my niche and care about the marketplace getting the best information. So there’s no problem helping them improve, as long as I stay 2 steps ahead.

More depth: Complex made simple (IBManifesto did an amazing job at this)
    - along this line, what’s the thought process to really simplify concepts

My focus on my blog is 1,2, and 3 so I should slowly add 4-6 into the mix.

    Thanks,
    Nahyan

    thanks for the compliments sean…

and it makes me happy to know that my feelings can be conveyed through the screen.

in fact, that reminds me of a story that i should share at some point about a big “aha” i had when i was in the hypnosis business that altered my business life forever. in fact, i just made a note to blog about that soon.

and your vote for #1 has been registered

Thanks for sharing wonderful information about blog and website content, I really enjoyed this article and wish more contents on the topic.

Recently I uploaded my website and I was in search of different methods about how to improve page rank of my website, your blog really help me a lot and I will like to read more content written by you on this topic.

  • http://www.graderaisingessaywritingtips.wordpress.com Rick Goldman

    Hi Rich,

I really appreciate how you put all 6 of these items
    in one simple list.

I’ve done most as I developed my Grade Raising Essay Writing program for teens and it gave me lots of confidence to be able to see that in one simple list.

And then to look at my marketing materials and see if I can be sure to hit all these points.

The last few weeks have also helped me to see that my program, which has been tested with real kids and teachers works, has worked for a couple of years at one school, and my #1 constraint has and is still that I haven’t let myself let other school administrators, teachers and parents know about it, even though I’ve written good sales letters and messages to do so and wanted to.

So, what I’d like to see you write about is…how to get past the constrait of being unwilling (perhaps because of different fears) to let people know, to pull the trigger. Especially when what you have is

    1. Counter Intuitive
    2. A Paradign shift
    3. A simple, unique new process, put into a simple and powerful tool that actually helps solve
the problem everyone complains about and no one can solve.

Thanks and thanks for continuing this conversation. It’s really helped and I notice after a couple of weeks of following this, I’m thinking about it a lot. Like it’s becoming a conversation in my head when I’m driving and walking and stuff/

    Rick Goldman

P.S. I notice the number of comments has gone down alot but I keep reading the posts everyday even if I’ve only commented twice. I will try and comment more often to keep the conversation going.

Hi Rich, I reviewed the “Uncertinty Syndrom”´s pages 36-37 and my conclusion is that “#Counter-intuitive content” means something like: express the highest possible level of human knowlege or something alike?

Thanks for your Gold and Pearls,

3.- Is this a rethoric one?

    Thanks a bunch.

Hi Rich… Thanks for your post! As for your question, I agree with Julius, I would love to see more on improving page rank.

There are tons of sites giving out tips & tricks on improving page rank. But what I want to find info on is on how to prioritize your efforts. Given the million and 1 ways to promote your site, which should you do first? Which are best outsourced? For a site is on its infancy stage (no historical data to rely on), which methods are most likely to deliver the best results? What are the pros and cons of each method? How can you best leverage on these individual methods? etc.

I would really love to see your post on this in the future!

    Thank you.

So, this is inaccurate, isn’t it.

Very interesting! Agreed, one needs to consider the results of one’s successful efforts, but what if not successful, then one has to ID the problems & setbacks before proceeding. Liked this video but seemed long & saying a lot of the same thing in different ways. Am interested in the next videos.

My easiest to implement is featuring paradigm shift content. what I am missing is how to break my business into parts and get focused on one path to follow. Also, more on outsourcing.

Have joined founders club and still stuck. Every option I click says it is not available at the level I have subscribed. So far, no access. I will email support to try and figure it out.

    Hey Rich,

Great post as usual! I would like you to break down the paradigm shift and a powerful tool section in a future post. I love the way you have linked back to your precious books for an example of the information. It has certainly made me sign up ;)

Keep up the good work, (by the way I’m an Alex Jeffreys student, he told us to let you know that when we post on your blog)

    thanks again

    Hi Rich,

A great post, I would like to concentrate on “The Complex Made Simple” there is so much online that seems to be complicated and holds people back, but when it is broken down, it really is not that complex at all.

I am an Alex Jeffreys student and I know he has learnt a lot from you, so I am looking forward to he passing this on to me and the other students.

I look forward to more of your content

Some great “tools” to add to the content writing toolbox.  I’ll have to see if I can convert some of these strategies to serve ascopywriting techniques as well! Thanks for the great information and ideas :)
