Get the Attention Age Doctrine Part 2.
Whew…. The day has finally arrived.
The report is being downloaded by thousands of online entrepreneurs as you read this.
I got to tell you, I’m really proud of it. Even more importantly, I can’t wait to hear what you think.
To be frank, I know many people loved the Attention Age Doctrine 1, but I was somewhat disappointed in myself and the Doctrine for not delivering on the problems I surfaced throughout it.
But now I am ecstatic because I know I have made up for my lapse. Like I said, I know many of you really loved it – but there’s a difference between what others say and how you feel about your own creation yourself.
In the Doctrine 2 I lay out the fastest, most certain approach to growing your business faster than you probably believe possible?
How Fast?
Take a look at Strategic Profits in our very first year we went from zero to over $7.5 million. Or how about clients who have gone from $180,000 a year to $4.7 million a year in just twelve short months.
And here’s the irony…. what you’ve been taught and what you’ve been studying has probably gotten in your way more than it’s helped. You’ll understand exactly what i mean after you’ve read page 80-81.
Yes, it’s longer than expected, but only because each and every page is pure gold for growing your business and I just didn’t feel right robbing you of any nugget.
So now it’s your turn, here’s what you can do for yourself, for your fellow business owners, and me.
- Download the report right here
- Spread the word – let your peers and fellow entrepreneurs know about it.
- Comment below – let me know what you thought, and what you would like me to teach you over the next few weeks.
- And last but not least (if you read the Doctrine 2 – you know why) please use the social bookmarking buttons immediately following this post. If you’ve never used any of these sites – it’s time to start, and it would be an honor for me to be your very first.
(the comments I love the most are the ones that are honest, and share the current obstacles you face in applying what you learned in the document)
As I wrote in the report, I’ve got a lot more killer tactics and strategies to share with you but in order to find out about them you are going to have to subscribe to our feed – (press the orange button or green button to the right of our logo).
Stay tuned, I’ll be posting here frequently – and I would hate for you to miss what’s coming.
To higher profits,
Rich Schefren
I downloaded AAD pt 2 and all the pages are blank. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?
Worked for me. Maybe the server was busy.
Bumping my comment up a bit.
Great Report.
Two key points in online marketing success…
Relationshipping is the key. Web 2.0 is the vehicle.
Looking forward to the Dec. 18th release.
Thanks Again,
laura
Rich
Great article – many thanks.
Ditto for me 2. Thanks for the information. I read the whole report, couldn’t put it down. Looking forward to using your strategy in my campaign. Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes I noticed this happened until I downloaded and saved a copy from my buddy. I have to say that this so-called doctrine is not only relevant to the business world, but also the spiritual, truly paradigm-shifting and in perfect rhythm with the cosmos;)
Make sure you have Adobe 7.0 or higher. Works fine for me. on pg 16 so far and cant put it down.
Perhaps it only works on PCs. I’m using “Preview” on my Mac.
I could not open the document in Mac OsX 10.2.8
This version of Mac OS is no longer supported with updates from Apple.
Then I booted into X10.3 and used Acrobat Reader 7
This opened the document with no trouble whatsoever.
All the best, and the report is a huge eye-opener, like walking from a dark cave to open sunshine almost. :)
Even if you have to buy Mac OS to read it, that will be money well spent. Otherwise go to library or internet cafe to read it.
Now its only missing that Rich Schefren will start to use the brain power techniques teached on winwenger.com for even more far-out stuff to come (maybe he is lol!)
All the best and hope this helps with that Macintosh problem.
Has anyone else received their report yet? More waiting? It would be nice to be able to just download the report and read it.
Can’t wait to read it :-)
Fantastic report. I just spent the last hour reading it and loved every minute of it. Your information was so insightful and thought provoking. I look forward to hearing more about your new product.
Great report. Can’t wait to find out more. Will put the info to good use.
Great read. Got it at noon and 90 minutes later (as mentioned) I’m here posting. Great work Rich.

Well thank you for finally coming out and admitting that the masses are sick to death of the super slick marketing that we’ve all embraced. I definitely appreciate your angle. Thanks for the ideas, I’ll have to see how to apply them to my areas of passion.

Rich,
You are a breath of fresh air. The information you share for free is better than most that come with a price.
We offer a product we believe in and want to share. The Attention Age Doctrine 2 is in the process of allowing us to be recognized so that we may be able to reach our goals.
We still have to work hard every day, but it’s all worth it.
Thank you Rich,
Donna Smith

Hi Rich,
Really appreciate the extra time you have taken to include actionable strategies.

Does the gravatar thing work?
Just Printed out report and made a nice brew, here’s to more revelations!
Rich,
Absolute Genius!
Have been looking forward to this for months. Well done for all the effort.
The download link redirects to the following URL,
where it asks for the Opt-in, AGAIN ?!
http://www.strategicprofits.com/doctrinenew/inter.html
Might want to look into that. Download server overload?
Surely there should be a better message available than
return to Opt-in
Thx
JUST FINISHED DEVOURING Doctrine2.pdf
Finally a report that will massively change the way I do business.
Im glad we are in this new age. It forces people that want to be on top to bring their “A game”. I cannot wait to do business with people that are becoming Viral and WEBMARKETER 2.0.
I cannot wait to purchase the “Business Acceleration” home study program.
Till then I will be re-reading and taking action on this amazing report.
Same thing for me. All the pages are blank. I’m using Preview on a Mac too, but the same thing is happening with Acrobat.
Craig
The link I received in the email /download/ took me to /inter.html which then took me to the sign up page again.
I hope you will resend an email with the proper link.
My name is Brian Fairo. I downloaded my free copy 2 and a half hours ago. I’ve read it twice! It is not only everything Rich promised but so much more! Everything begins from a thought or idea. Thanks to this book ( And just so ya know, I’ve never heard of Rich before this morning!) I have the inspiration and tools needed to turn my idea’s into tangible material! I cannot thank you enough Rich and soon you will see how truly thankful I am!
cant thank you enough for those insights
if i ever get troughto all those myspace blogs and forums myslf
icould get started on having a biz online
to all be blessed and keep up the good work
Exce!!ent. Devoured my complete attention. Sure didn’t seem like a 90 minute read.
Figured it out: I downloaded Adobe and it came up just fine. Tx.
Im on the mac and it works fine if you have higher than 7.0 adobe. I have just finished it. Worth the wait.
I just downloaded the report. I have always found Rich’s information very helpful. Here is a great resource to help take your business to the next level: http://portal-feeder-review.com
If you are getting sent to the opt-in page it’s because when you opt-in we drop a cookie on your system.
When you get the email and return to the site – you aren’t allowed to access the report unless the cookie is there.
The reason for this is to make sure my affiliates get the credit they deserve and to prevent pass along of the email. Sorry but it’s an innovation we’re kind of proud of.
If you are having trouble and you did opt-in, check to see if you have disabled cookies – if you have you’ll need to enable them, and opt-in again.
Hope that clears up any confusion.
I’ve waited a couple hours for the email with the download link and still nothing…other than another email that took me back through the same opt-in process as before. Am I missing something????
For the Mac people:
Just wanted to let you know that I was having the same problem opening the document. Here’s what I think the problem was:
I just “upgraded” to the lastest release of Firefox – version 2.0.0.10 – and I gotta tell you, it’s doing some strange things. Must be a buggy update.
So when I downloaded the report, it didn’t actually appear in my downloads folder. I just tried to open it from the downloads window (which I normally do) and it opened up a “blank” document in Preview, which is the default pdf viewer on my machine.
I’m not a computer guy, really, but my guess is that there is something up with this release of Firefox.
So I switched over to Safari (I had to visit the site again and opt in again, due to the cookie issue Rich mentions above). I downloaded the report again, it showed up in my downloads folder, but Preview still wouldn’t show anything but a blank document. Hmm….
So I opened up with Acrobat (I’m running 8.1.1) and voilà … there it was!
Hope this helps, and thanks to Rich for this 93 page (!!!) report. Best wishes to you!
David
Rich,
I’ll be honest… I’ve only heard of you recently because I got out of Internet marketing over 4 years ago. The reasons were obvious to me at the time.
Getting back in has been a struggle to be sure, but this time I won’t give up… no matter what!
What I have just read is absolutely amazing. It has created a paradigm shift in me that I hope all who read it will create for them.
Web 2.0 is the new future of Internet Marketing!
Thanks,
Jeff Johnson
Great report Rich. And pictures too? How would have thought Paris Hilton has something to do with all this :)
I feel even more optimistic for viral marketing and glad to see someone at the top who’s using and openly proud of “first cookie” concepts, which reward the affiliates AND the marketer.
I received the email to download the information, but there anything like a download lik or the report itself. Am I doing something wrong?
Regards
Hector
great content as always… question to your firm and you if you got a second,
i watched your videos when you first launched and they were ok, better then average, content wise, but these pdf’s your putting out are hard to read, hard to take in and very elementary design wise. I know you don’t outsource your marketing but it wouldn’t be outsourcing if you had an internal creative team of a graphic designer and a after effects editor for your videos. I just think it’s weird for someone talking about making money, and having us wait a few months for part two of this “PDF”. After waiting the months, we get a PDF that looks like it was copied and pasted into a PDF creator.
That doesn’t work for me
after i saw the PDF, i relize that im not your target market but i was, i saw the whole internet marketing industry as a value to a internet marketer but the guru’s who put out these crappy $47+ packages tought me really nothing but internet marketers make money basically from other internet marketers other wise they would be called founders and would be making more from keeping there clients happy instead of keeping them guessing.
my question to you is, out of the hundreds of thousands that you made from your mentoring and money from your hypnosis business and other ventures, why wouldn’t you drop $10,000 on making the most increadable customer experience, because i know to be fact that i been on the net full time longer then any guru and all they teach is how to make money, not really sure why they don’t get together and do something for us clients,,, wait i found the problem, they call us customers, kinda like when you pay a $20 late charge for a DVD at blockbuster, we are a customer and never right.
a client will last forever
customers are more like a OTO
well thanks for the free info
and have a great day.
warm regards,
mark
also your Trademark 76676494 is submitted totally wrong, look it up on uspto.gov the word mark is way too long
but hey at least you can legally say you TMed that not like other people who put the TM next to anything that sounds good.
Hi Rich,
First, thanks for facing the “Get Rich Quick Myth.”
Second, what’s the relationship with co-attention? Is attention increased to greater levels when trust is accompanied by reciprocal attention?
You gained the attention of the market, but didn’t stop. You reciprocated by listening and then producing. So gaining and keeping attention is highly relational.
Thanks for the report!
Paul
Rich,
Great report as usual! You definitely “feel my pain” as both a consumer who is overwhelmed by the advertising messages AND as a marketer, trying to figure out how to build sales/profits. I’ve learned firsthand what you’ve said about trying to “sell people” on products before first building a trusting relationship. Unless you’re selling something they know about AND your price is excellent, good luck! Your message about taking the high road in building a business is dead on.
Thanks.
Kurt Hagemeister
Ann Arbor, Michigam
Rich,
next time
take $10,000 of the $1,000,000+ you already made and do something that i can remember tomorrow and say on my firms loudspeaker “hey it’s mark cutino you should check out http://www.strategicprofits.com it has a sick customer experience”
because tomorrow i’ll be thinking why are the guru’s treating us like customers, not “CLIENTS that can make a difference”
-mark
Great strategic thinking about marketing in the Web 2.0 world!
However I was slightly disappointed in the lack of concrete steps and advice in implementing the strategies.
I guess I’ll have to wait for the Business Acceleration course for that. :-)
Thanks!
Nick
also, your trademark 76676494, on the uspto.gov website the word mark should be ALOT smaller, one to 3 words not 100+
look it up you’ll know what i mean, tired to email you that but they all got bounce back.
I agree with what you have said. It all makes a lot of sense. I can also see that successful internet marketers have done exactly as you say. My concern is that the sands are ever shifting, that by the time we have gotten to the point where your document takes us, there will be new hoops to jump- I guess that is my concern- if you are not already one of the mavens- you never will be, because of having to play catch-up all the time.
Milli,
It’s normal to have those concerns, but the truth is the entrepreneurs who are successful weigh all their options and then simply proceed with the best actions they can take right now.
I’ve have helped turn marketers into mavens as recently as this past month — so trust me when I tell you, you still have plenty of time.
And Nick, I hear you loud and clear – actually if you are subscribed to the feed you’ll be getting lots of specific action steps over the next few weeks, so just keep your eye’s peeled.
And to all of you who’ve commented, thank you. We’ve already far surpassed 10,000 downloads today and it’s sort of disappointing how few people take the time to comment.
Not to press my luck… but if you haven’t bookmarked (through a social networking site) yet, what are you waiting for?… In the action guides I’ll be delivering it’s one of the first steps you need to do when you are trying to infilitrate a market.
To Higher Profits,
Rich Schefren
Thanks for Doctrine2.
As a future topic for your blog, I am very interested in what you found to be the most important elements required to prepare for creating a “Home Study Course”.
We are in the process of creating a course reviewing the options and tools available to help homeowners stay out of foreclosure.
Thanks for the Support
Alex
Thanks for this. I for one am very excited. Waiting for the link as we speak. Hopefully a follow up comment will ensue tonight with a review and praise.
Rich,
You mentioned that there was so few comments. There are several related to not being able to download and not having the link. Can you have a support person or someone comment on here as to why some of us can’t? I’ve opted in with 2 different email addresses just to make sure it wasn’t my email (even though I seem to get the comments from this blog fine) and still have yet to receive a download link.
Kind of frustrating getting geared up for this release and then sit and watch everyone comment and not have the ability to get it myself.
If you have already opted in and would like to download the doctrine, go to:
http://www.strategicprofits.com/doctrinenew/download/
and you can download it.
HOWEVER, if you have not opted in already it will take you to the opt-in page first. Cool tech guys.
It was woth every minute of the wait rich
thanks
Thanks a lot!
Dam Briliant Chap! I have paid lots of money to other people for stuff like this. Cutting edge and educational.
Thanks form the UK
Rich,
Maybe I should give you a big kick in your big _ _ _!
Ninety three (93) pages of hype, catch words/phrases and little depth.
There were several tidbits, but who wants that? I’m a “meat and potatoes” type of guy…. not politically correct, not afraid of 14-16 productive, profitable, hours per day. Yes, I am passionate about my work/profession and I’m willing to share or give away good ideas to anyone that will appreciate the gift.
Divorce… I have had so many costly divorces, hell, I’m just going to meet a woman that I instanly dislike, then I’ll give her a house, car and $5k monthly alimony. It will save me time and grief.
It’s 5:00 o’clock somewhere in this world, time to relax.
Phil
ps: it is a good presentation, with a lot of time, effort and money spent…. but overall, it misses the bulls eye.
Whew! Thanks for the major insights to building a serious online business. The value is priceless and I’m putting to work what you’ve shared already!
hi rich
- just downloaded your ´doctrine part 2´ – and, this really IS clever stuff you have compiled and provided for free
- so, thanx to you Rich !
- and also, so far you seem to be the first to convey the message, in this way
- … said by a person (me…) – who reads a lot …
- new paradigms in web marketing – compiled and written, both with the overall conceptual thinking behind, and relevant strategic considerations to be undertaken for specific applications
- so – in case I want ´more´ … –
- where do I go ? – what do I do … ?
- 1. where do I go for an IRL seminar for ´more´ ? –
- 2. where do I join and IRL or web-based community with other people recognizing the value of learning, testing and sharing their own experiences with real-world web-concepts within this domain of thinking
- the reason for asking : I have just released my first e-book this autumn in Denmark, in danish language – mainly to ´test the waters´ before going into full-scale
- … and, therefore I´m in the proces of assembling pieces, knowledge and contributors for my next, major web-project
- a project which is scheduled for release within 1-2 yrs

I read the doctrine, and you pulled together a lot of great information! It is going to take me a while to digest some of it, but it makes great sense, and it will work for those of us who are in the service sector as well as retailers. So much of what is written on the Internet is geared only toward retail sales. It is refreshing to see something that will work in service as well!
Thanks,
James
Hi Rich,
Thanks for Part 2 of the Doctrine. I’d like to get Part 1 if possible.
Thanks,
Eileen
Just finished the report…my god, absolutely eye opening. Now it’s time for me to go work at becoming a maven!
Kaching!
~Adam F
WOW …just a short thank you Rich for the report !I read it this afternoon and well be rereading again over the next week!
Signed up for the download three times over the last 3 hours and have not received any email yet. Has anyone else been having this problem?
Sounds like it will be very useful, if I can ever get it :)
(Started at 11:00 PST)
Thanks,
Ed
I am not new to the internet, recently had a small business site hacked into and destroyed so I fully understand the problems one can encounter. Furthermore,I fully understand the term, “sell the sizzle and not the steak.” I fully understand all the concepts you present and successfully used them on my now extinct website.
I am a very hard worker and am committed to starting over on my road to a better way to make money, especially since my job as training supervisor with a top notch banking institution was outsourced to a foreign country. I have now become financially challenged.
So with great interest and hope I read through your report twice. Knowing how long it took me to do up beautiful sales brochures, one can only marvel at the time and effort you put in to the content within Attention Age Doctrine Part 2.
This is what I came away with…
The first reading>> you lost me on page 89 when you said the costs wouldn’t be bargain basement prices. I fully understand what that means, too. This comes on the heels of you stating your are as close to filthy rich as a man can be. How about ground level prices? I expected better.
The second reading>>That’s when the content became the same type of hype that all other marketers are peddling to get the sign up “with me” deal and “you” will make millions. That is, if I am lucky to get a spot. How is that different from any of the others offers out there? Well maybe, new twist, same game, more money?
How disappointing.
I’ll bet you make millions more, too. And kudos to you when you do.
Talk about a program blowing me away! Swish! I’m gone.
Thank you,
Sylvia
Though I enjoyed most of what I read in the 93 pages, at the end of the day I came away feeling disappointed and let down again. As Sylvia alludes to, at the end of all your pages of repititive excitement about how filthy you are, you put the whammy on us by telling us that your going to charge an arm and a leg to be able to get the info to actually implement your suggestions. Make a boat load of promises, then jam your hand in my wallet for another fistfull of my dollars. The bottom line here is you are not really different then all the other shysters out there in the e-world. What you say about web 2.0 is bang on, and concurs with ideas that have been forming within me for several months. You took those nebulous, incompletely formed thoughts and gave them a form and defination that had been lacking. I now know with a bit more clarity on how I would like my business set up look like, and also how to have it function. One thing I will not do is, is not do what has been done to me on far toooo many occasions…that is keep dipping into a client/prospects not very deep at all pockets.
If your products make the kind of $$ you brag about, the time it takes to realize a profit after your originall investments of time, $$, effort you put into the design, the copy, testing etc. would have to be on the very few ticks of the clock side of the equation. That is a kudo to you and your team. WHEN I get to that level momentum and accomplishment, I feel a better approach will be to allow my dowline, affiliates, PC’s, etc., to have for no charge the nuts and bolts of the set up, but offer tutoring, training, mentoring, for a fee. Many will be able figure out the importance of the use of web 2.0 or whatever is the next advancemet in internet marketing. Many will be in the fix I’m in now…not knowing the what-for on how to actually set up their busines on the net, using all the resources available to them, or even just what they may be. You can be sure I won’t ask for an arm and/or a leg.
Well, it’s been over an hour and I checked my spam folder, and nothing yet…
Oh my gush! What’s a solid stuff ?!
Even if it all seem logical and make (evident) sense , what’s the accurancy, the clarity, the power of this report.
Hey, Rich, i’m not yet in the game but i’m around for some month for now and the only thing i can say is that the power of your report is that you say, you preach and you do THE REAL TRUTH. So, even the odds are with you.
Anyway, you didn’t need to give so much to be a maven, there are many parts of the reports that could be paid information/advice/strategies; but you choose to over-overdeliver and that’s a great proof of your sense of contibution, one more time you live what you teach, and i’m sure that sometimes you do it even without think about it and i think that’s the reason why non only you succeed, but your success will last…
Even if i may not afford your course now, remind this worlds: Your Standarts Oblige Me To Have You As A Friend Before We Die!
So bye for now and God (or whatever you believe in) bess u and all your team & familly. I wish you really big hapiness.
Armel – from Paris – France (now u unederstand why my english is broke ;-) I’ve tried my best.
I really liked your idea of piggy-backing attention.
Just yesterday I piggy-backed on some of the attention surrounding Al Gore’s web site being hacked. With a few simple Web 2.0 strategies I received about 3 new visitors per minute over the last 24 hours.
See my blog for details on what I did.
Regards,
Nick
PS. Of course this comment is also an example of piggy-backing attention. :-)
For Those Who Haven’t Gotten Their E-Mail Download Yet…
After a while, I just went back to the original e-mail I got from Rich, and decided to opt-in again, but when I clicked on the link, it sent me to the download page!
I read somewhere that you’re only going to get the link in an e-mail, but that never came, so that’s why I wanted to opt-in again.
But if you’re having this problem, just go back to the original e-mail you got from Rich, and instead of an opt-in page, it should lead you to the download page.
When I try and opt-in again it still just takes me to the send-a-friend page and clicking no thanks, just gives the email will arrive message. Not sure how you are getting to a download page, I have tried it 8-10 times with different options and have never seen that.
Can you give some other directions on how to get to that download page?
Thanks,
Ed
Rich, you disappoint me once again. Not only have I subscribed to your mailing list at least twice, I am also a Strategic Profits System customer, paying you a cool $400 a month.
Yet, for some reason, you can’t just email me the damned report when it’s done. I have to hear about it from someone else, and then I have to opt in again to get a copy of it.
Is there some amazingly inscrutable logic behind this, or do you just need to tighten up your email marketing game?
Dan,
What can i say… you’re 100% right – in all the commotion, i spaced about the hand that actually feeds me.
A link is being put in the BGS platform right now and will be available in the next 15 minutes.
(In my defense we’ve been talking about it in our emails to our clients and even referenced the release in our Q+A mailing for this week)
On the plus side we did schedule the Q+A call this week for Friday so I could answer any questions any members had about the doctrine.
On a completely different note – I had no idea you were a client. I’ve been telling Brian, in our office to get in touch with you regarding SEO services.
I’ll follow up with you in a day or two if that’s ok.
Hi Rich,
Have read marketing books- (from stores)- with less good information than this! it just all makes sense…..sort of a branding online thing -brranding and trust…..
Paul Easton
http://www.SEOTrainingLive.com/
Hey Rich,
Well, I was one of those impatiently tapping my fingers on my desk, refreshing my browser and pacing around waiting for the link to download the report – and for my part, it didn’t disappoint! I’m about to go back and read it for the second time and start taking notes.
But something I’m finding fascinating is how what you talked about in Chapter 2 is happening right here, right now! And it will be even more interesting to see how it plays out and what you do about it. It’s a case study unfolding before our eyes.
Thanks Rich – it was worth the wait.
Wow! A welcome sales philosophy “Customers are people too.” Three cheers!
Not sure what the problem with downloading this thing is, but it isn’t all “cookies”. I checked, and I do have cookies enabled, in fact I have several dozen on my list there, but still get re-routed over and over again to the stupid register page. From what I read on another site, this may have something to do with my firewall, but I’m definitely not shutting it down and doing a download. I have several downloads on my own sites that work just fine with my cookie settings, and I download free and paid products all of the time, with no problem. This whole thing makes me think there’s something more than information getting downloaded with this report. So, if you can send all of us that are having this problem a link that will work, great. Otherwise I’m just going to take a pass on this one.
Eye opener, Thx!
I’ve got it. It’s here. I’ve read it once, and it’s mind boggling.
Midnight here, so I will read again tomorrow.
To be honest, web 2.0 is not my favourite space. There are too many stories over here of virtual bullying of kids by people slating them on MySpace and suchlike. The problem with peer to peer is that it’s not all sweetness and light, not all honest opinion and not all true. They used to say a lie can go right round the planet before the truth has its boots on – it’s definitely true now. What can we do about that? Any ideas?
Anyone else having trouble opening the pdf? I get an error stating bad encrypt dictionary?? I have adobe 8.
I agree with everyone else who’s reported problems with the download. I’ve tried 5 times and gotten nowhere…
Rich-
Amazing read. This puts together so many pieces of the internet marketing puzzle for me and simply sealed my business plan up perfectly. Now its time for action! I did see the ’sales pitch’ coming around page 88 but hey, we all are in business right? And while I’d ideally like to share my passion and talents for free with everyone who needs them and expect the money to fall from the sky, it just doesn’t work that way. But you have done the best job at sharing and explaining what you will offer in your course without doing a bunch of almost embarassing and definitely annoying sales copy that is so predictable these days. I am truly impressed that you have presented transparency, honesty and trust as core values in this approach because there is so much of that missing from the business world these days.
And I must obviously be a perfect ‘client’ for you because I am in right now and won’t be able to be patient for Dec. 18th!
A couple questions in the meantime…..do you think this is applicable to a direct selling industry to drum up a consultant team to sponsor? (yes, I’m already familiar with magnetic sponsoring but its just another thing on the list I haven’t had time to sink my teeth into yet. by the way, congrats for capturing my attention so completely and fully as I immediately digested all 93 pages and simultaneously completed my business plan as a result!!!!).
Also, I share the concern mentioned earlier by Milli – what’s next? Will I get up on this topic only to be bowled over by the next big wave on the internet? And how do I, small town, essentially ‘nobody’ (but who has some very important expertise to share!) ever compete with big wig, high dollar corporations when they finally figure out these secrets and blow away all us mom-and-pop shops on the internet? Is the goal to get in as the expert then sell out to the big players and retire early?
Maybe too many questions for now….I can’t wait to hear more!
Thanks!
Lori
Dear Rich:
Well, I did my “tell-a-friend” bit at the very beginning, and now that I’ve read it, I hope my friends do too, find the value I found, and apply it!
As a relative neophyte, I’ve been doing a lot of research and mindmapping around my forthcoming business, but still had a lot of loose bits floating around. What you said has distilled a lot of what I’ve been thinking into a manageable “formula” that I can start applying immediately. Now, I believe I have the horse firmly before the cart! Thank you.
There is nothing so liberating as having a firm foundation, and your metaphor of a bridge is not only a foundation, but one that takes you from here to where you want to be. I will be keeping my eyes open for your further developments.
Angelina
Hi Rich.
A great read and, unlike most of the other “reports” that are incestuously pumped out on the web, offers TRUE insights into the factual world of Web marketing 2.0!
To my mind, this is the continuation of the “Permission Marketing” strategy so eloquently stated and promoted by Seth Godin.
Well done, and looking forward to further information.
Regards,
Pete
“Oops” is a pretty good answer, Rich, even if I was hoping for some radical new insight. :D
I don’t do the Q&A calls much, because I haven’t really had any questions after viewing your material. I like the BGS because it only asks for a couple hours a month, and my time investment beyond that is in getting things done.
Excellent work on this thing, BTW. I can see why it took so long. I’m mailing my recommendation in Friday’s newsletter.
You really should make your earlier reports available from the download page. Anyone who reads all of them and doesn’t want more from you is either nuts, or way ahead of us. I assume that anyone coming in at Attention Age 2 will want to read part 1 anyway.
Hi Rich,
I followed an recommendation from Mike Filsaime and must say I enjoyed the read. I must admit I had not heard of you or any of your companies before though.
Well, as you said billions of websites . . . must have been surfing in another world.
I am curious if the product will live up to the promise made in the final part of your report.
Good luck with your launch
Arnold
Great as usual Rich! Once I picked up the doctrine I couldn’t put it down. Open my eyes! Thanks so much.
Bravo. Wish i knew about you a year ago. This is exactly what I have been struggling to put my finger on in my marketing problems and this really hit home.
Rich,
I cannot thank you more…I am a student of your business coaching and was thinking that this report might be a rehashed version of what you are teaching inside.
I WAS WRONG.
Every word is gold here.
I have never given a serious thought to the concept of providing value in free stuff. I now, fully understand the power behind it and your own results have amazed me.
Thanks again mate..can’t wait for the second reading tomorrow :)
Warm Regds,

Wow. Very interesting and informative stuff. I can feel gears vibrating and snapping in pieces as my paradigm attempts to shift itself!
Although there weren’t many how-to details, there is some very good actionable advice and I’ll be acting on it right away! I’ve got work to do…
wow!!! what a fantastic read. I couldn’t take my eyes from the pages. There were times when I had to read things twice to really believe what I was reading.
Thank you Great job Rich.
Marie Sim
Hi Rich! Sheer Amazement!
Please could you also help those of us looking for the BEST (online…offline?) business to get involved with…?
Thanks!
Izzy
Great work as usual Rich.
Cheers
Andy
Carlos Sagastume. I downloaded the free copy 2 about one hours ago. I’ve read and will have to read it again. It is what Rich promised but so much more!
ok ok … this is the second part, but I wana know where is the first part, help me please !
Thanks Rich
I devoured this report and in my excitement I emailed a couple of friends and associates, wouldn’t you know it they had both already read the report one had even posted a reply in this thread. Go figure! Good content travels fast I see……. Anyway I’ve been furiously researching and writing my next project and this report has made me do an about face with how I was going to market it. Hopefully the delay from revamping the product and aiming it in the right direction will more than make up the time I’ve spent doing it the “Old School” way.
Paul
Rich,
I just finished reading your “Attention Age Doctrine” and found it incredibly insightful, almost a deja vu to things floating around in my head yet unable to assemble them all together. The value of honesty and integrity with your client base will pay off tremendous dividends. I’m currantly getting close to launching my own digital product and your timing with this is impeccable.
Thanks for unloading all this info, I’ll read it all again tomorrow so more of it can sink in.
Bill Slater
Rick,
Mind Blowing information! This field is moving so fast that it’s hard to keep up….your report shoots us past the pack. I know that it’s true…very true…and how you put it all together is beyhond me?!
Can’t wait til December 8th….or was it the 18th.
Chuck
I was referred to this release by someone involved in your Strategic Profit System, as well as countless others in receipt of my email address. While I’ve perused the Attention Age Doctrine 1 and ancillary information, and would have considered the read from virtually any reference, the disclosed and obvious P2P factor came into play in this case. In actuality, I didn’t find the report to be “earth shattering” or contain any “revelations” that a wide-eyed and astute internet entrepreneur wouldn’t (shouldn’t) have already caught. However, even in the “that’s so yesterday” internet world, change truly is somewhat slow (slow being a relative term) by virtue human nature. All this aside, I find your content engaging and a clear over-delivery in terms of the free “information” floating around. At minimum, an astute reader should depart with knowledge of how to mount a stunning campaign. Kudos!
Great report. Thanks.
Great Ebook, Rich, thank you for sharing.
Rich Hi.
Just finished reading Part 2, and although it was 4:00 am by the time I was done, I felt compelled to write you.
Regrettably, over an hour has passed during which I wrote a very long respose to you — but it apparently did not get sent correctly and jost got erased, so I am frustrated as hell…
Noeverthless, and congratulatons on a masterful piece of substantive work, as well as a brilliant demonstration of how intelligent and honest marketing gets people wanting to buy, primarily on the merit of who you are!
On this high note I will hit the sack, but here is a small sugggestion – why don’t you reverse the order of the positings, so that the most recent one show at the top of the page and people can scroll downwards for the older ones?
Anyway, I will write again sometime soon, and I really hope to attend this Friday’s Q &A.
Warmest regards,
Dr. Yishai Jesse Almog
(Israel)
If truth be told, the largest market on the web is not porn of the usual sort. The largest market is internet marketing advice for those who wish to be successful internet marketers. Your outline of your discovery of what is now the current proven path to marketing nirvana simply reinforces the true path to success in any field of endeavor: origniality and being one of the very first to realize what the next step is. Only one in a million really can do this.
Superb read! Info is on target and exactly right. Understand this is a heads up to marketers, not a free course on how to do every aspect involved in implementing a successful Web 2.0 campaign. With introduction to a new reality, you have showed us the old reality is, thankfully, ending and a new reality has emerged. Ride this wave or sink!
Thank you for the valuable, and free, information. As azen master once said: correct information= correct output.
Bravo!
Sorry but not much new…93 pages to say quality information with real value is key and a great JV with celebrity status will make you rich beyond dreams. Hmmm, don’t think I need to pay to see the end of this story that has been written many times before. Must be the 2.0 buzz that makes solid business practices seem like novel ideas. Ching…Ching
Hi!
Pheww…I feel like getting my hands on one of those Membership Action Script after reading your doctrine.
At least that’s my impression of having a community…
But then, I thought to myself,”What else is NEW?”
For ages, many profitable Internet Marketers ‘preach’ the importance of trust. Many did not only talk but ‘walk the talk’. (I recalled John Reese as one of them when he stop promoting affiliate products on his Income.com)
I knew about the importance of Viral Marketing, ‘giving before getting’, and non-dependant to Search Engine from Harvey Segal ‘Mr. Supertip’ (he doesn’t have a blog by the way…he own a forum).
And I realize the importance of ‘membership’ after I got a replied email from Jim Daniels (he doesn’t have a blog also…sigh!) asking him about his blog (if any), and he happily pointed me to his monthly-updated Newletter, Bizweb 2000.
So Rich (I like that!), what you present in the report, to me personally, is not NEWS. But it’s a good reminder of how things have change nowadays.
‘Old faces, new stories’
Anyway, I’m looking forward to your forthcoming courses. I’m waiting in suspense…
P.S Now, can I get my ‘mystery gift’ ;)
This read was very good. I pulled valuable nuggets from the information that I can put to good use. Each and every time you have a release I look forward to it. Thanks for the information.
Jay
Amen to your report Rich. It is a good thing that you know your Bible. Thanks for making it sooo available for all of us. Give and it shall be fiven unto you, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto you pocket book. Bless you!!!
Interesting. In small niche sites that don’t peddle the “how to make a killing on the internet” hype, we are making a living through trial and error, mostly error … and it takes time to get convinced what methods work.
So what’s new?
Rich Man,
Good work with the report. You confirmed my suspicion that this ppc/seo stuff aint all it’s cracked up to be. Finally someone is bold enough to speak the truth. I’d like to know your take on building relationships with other bloggers. For instance, what’s the most effective way to build a list of the 100 most influential bloggers in a niche? Say by average no. of monthly visitors? I have a theory on how to approach this but would like to know your thots.
Regards.
Timothy
If you go to Bloglines, you can do a search based upon keyword to find blogs, and they also have ranking charts based upon subscriber numbers.
It is a little biased towards feed bundles.
Google Reader also just added a feed suggestion option, so each day it seems, based upon your current feed selection, they will suggest new blogs to add to your list.
You can also browse Technorati by tag, though it can be a little inaccurate in the sorting.
http://technorati.com/blogs/tag/seo
Your biggest problem will come in niches where people don’t link to each other much, and concentrate on email subscribers.
Even just a search on “top blogs about [keyword]” should find you plenty to start with, then browse the sites they link to, and their blogrolls.
Awesome report Rich! By far, the best I’ve read in a long time.
Hello,
Thanx 4 the great info. You’ve hit the nail on the head buddy!!
It’s quite true, the Web is changing at an alarming pace and it is imperative that we, online marketers, grasp the importance of your message and make an about face in our “marketing” strategies.
Thanks again you’ve really given me a ton of possibilities to mull over and act upon.
I’m just starting out and the information overload has been beyond belief until I read this . Now I realize how unimportant a lot of the hype I have been receiving really is . Thanks for some great direction.
Hi Rich
Thanks you have confirmed what I have been feeling in my own business lately in terms of relating to my list rather than marketing to them. I think you are right that being a marketer is a bad word and becoming a peer to our associates will pay off much larger rewards.I have felt Web 2.0 is where everything is headed for a while and got a lot from reading your book the Attention Age Doctrine. for some reason I couldn’t connect to your other work, lol. I don’t think I will be able to afford
your course but I have learned a lot
Thank you
Brian Russell
IVE SEEN IT ON TV!!!!
Incredible…
Ive just finished reading your attention report,
and i flip to cnn, and they were talking about how this
guy made a video against hillary/for obama for presidential
election – the video grew virally like crazy – into the millions very quickly…
AND,…. here’s what a political advisor said:
“We no longer have control of the message”
And, another added:
” since 2004, people feel they have more power than ever”
…referring to web 2.0 type of sharing their views online
and have it spread for all to see.
And it kept going like this!
I was sitting there, having the attention age doctrine
confirmed and unfolding before my very eyes.
A complete validation and testament to it’s power NOW,
this very second, of what i had just read.
The words and results resonated the echo of the attention age doctrine.
This is reality now.
Unbelievable.
Jump the “people’s bandwagon”.
Change or die.
thanks so much Rich
Olivier
Rich
I thought this was going to be another one of those long winded e book. I was greatly supprised, I couldn’t stop reading it. It opened my eyes, to something that has been sitting under my nose for a long time.
Thanks
rob
WOW! This was incredibly enlightening. I’ve read reports and other “papers” put out with great gusto, but this one had me going – “OH S%^& !” I have in the past simply followed along, but this left me speechless. I have been implementing changes to the way I work, but see I have a lot of work to do now!
Thanks Much,
George Sellers
Hey there Rich,
Now that another great report and I consumed the whole
plate. What a wonderful tool this report is and talking about
Viral Marketing, this has to be a great Illustration that will
again be a blessing around the globe. Many Champions
will be made from this sharing Rich, Thank You.
Be Blessed always…Peace!
Rich,
Congratulations on an excellent follow-through to your prior works. They certainly make for deep thought … and encouragement. Trust, honesty and less media (or other) hype is encouraging! I’m looking forward to more information on your home study course.

Hi Rich,
The timing of this report is amazing!!
After being in your online coaching program for a year going through the modules, i am very grateful for what you have provided here.
Delivering value to an audience you want to help is the ultimate business reward.
Every learning from you deepens my knowledge base and helps me continually improve myself so i can help others.
A heart felt thanks.
Just wish i could purchase the Acceleration Toolbox today!!
Rich:
I’m still trying to get this report to show up. I have Adobe Reader 6.0, and my computer won’t accept 7.0 and above, so even though I was able to download this report, I can’t read it. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Marcel
Hay!
Very interesting read, I’ve pulled out the nuggets and preparing to devour them. It’s a bit like – just being yourself. It’s like sharing from the beginning, growing up.
To presell or sell – web 2.0 it’s like C2, this is what lies ahead. The answers there. Why wouldn’t people get together to communicate, instead of sweeping everyone under the mat.
Good stuff Rich.
This is promising and do-able.
Hey Rich,
I have been preaching this message to my students for over a year now. You have hit the nail right on the head. Very well articulated, practical and mind shifting report!
You are right… then end of lies, hype & misinformation is just on the horizon. I predicted mid 2008… As a result of this report I think it is going to happen much sooner.
A true blessing for aspiring Internet entrepreneurs!
Thank you,

Thanks Rich for yet another free product. I admire your ability to compete with yourself and excel your last achievement.
Not everyone can be you, Rich Schefren, but you are a celebrity for any of us who can afford a “piggy rideâ€.
So I am piggy riding (for free) and have posted a review of your report on my Internet Marketing Blog. A brief excerpt is given here:
Giving away a valuable free product involves a paradox. You need to make the free product so good as to get attention, claim authority, build rapport, build trust and make others benefit from it even if they do not buy your paid product. But at the same time the report should not outshine the paid product and make everyone feel, ‘I can use whatever I have learned so far with my own twist’ and I need not buy anything.
Rich Schefren is a Master who excels by facing challenges squarely on the face and converting them into golden opportunities. What is more important for us is that he is able to analyze his own mental processes of how he solves the challenges. He is able to tear those processes into pieces and regroup them into a coaching program for others to learn from.
Thanks once again for this excellent 93-page, no-fluff, free ebook.
Rich. . . . .
Where to start, oh my oh my. . . I read the doctrine-2 this afternoon. I enjoyed it very much. You see, I too have recognized that the typical marketing we are so used to is not working anymore. Even in one-on-one face-to-face situations it is hard to keep the potential clients attention more than a few seconds. And just to find someone to talk with is almost impossible anymore. I have been doing cold calling for more than 40 years and for the first time I have come to the realization that it is now a big waste of time.
What’s more, I enjoyed watching you masterfully layout the whole scene in one masterful step after another to lead to the logical conclusion of being set up for the buy. What great fun and very interesting.
So I have read with great interest because of my own experience with my web site and my passion to save kids from the horrors and slavery of drug use, abuse and addiction. My story goes on for 27 years of my life and I have been well seasoned in the school of hard knocks where the course is try, try again and then pick yourself up one more time. Yup, it’s been tough.
I have been at this so long and have experienced the devistating experience of few recruites, absolutly no money, credit or friends and family to turn too for help and join me in my lifes work and crusade.
With my reading of your doctrine-2 I was able to readjust my focus and saw a better, sure way through the times ahead. Thanks for the attitude boost with a fresh outlook, it really has been a great experience for me. I wish I had the money to buy your program I sense it would really help me but I can’t even afford free. Maybe after the first of the year.
Good job, good luck and go get them tiger!

Thanks Rich,
For sharing The Attention Age Doctrine Vol II.
Great report, well written and excellent content.
One of the great secrets to succeeding in business is to find a mentor.
You explain the power of seeking a mentor in your report, indeed you found the
eminent marketing guru and maven – Jay Abraham.
For the new starters: identify your passion>>seek a mentor>>build your master mind team>>become a “thought Leader”>>share with your niche market>>get rewarded.
Mr. Rich Schefren, thank you and thanks to your great Team for creating and making this report available to all of us.
Ed
PS. To use your secret Rich, I’m piggy-backing for attention here: http://www.mybookwise.com/discounts
Hey Rich,
I read the doctrine twice, sent a note to a few friends, and decided to come over to the blog to put in my two cents. (I’d say that you got my attention).
I’ve been galloping all over the universe lately, writing articles on niches that are popular, optimizing my review site pages, and selling other peoples products. While it’s been profitable (I’m making ok money), it has also been super time-consuming. Your report has knocked my brain back to center.
I’ve got some real expertise in a few fields and some exclusive taped interviews with some real celebs in one niche in particular. To be honest, I’ve felt self conscious about going forward with this niche because … well, it’s not a main stream niche. Inside, however, I’ve been letting myself down a bit, by not persuing my joy. (gotta pay the bills, I said)
Thanks for your words and for grabbing my attention. I feel much better about moving forward in the niche that I truly am passionate about.
I haven’t made my first 6 figures on the internet with the old plan, so I hope I can afford your Home Study Course. Feel free to send one over, as I will surely use it. ;)

Thanks Rich,
A lot to digest and implement
Grabbing Attention is the most important parameter of business momentum.
Visitors are cruel! Grab their attention and you will see your sales increase!
Thank you Rich!
Rich,
Thanks for reinforcing the idea of giving away amazing free content to build trust. I keep all my adds to a minimum, but my content to a maximum to build loyalty. It felt like the right thing to do and part 2 of The Attention Age Doctrine really give me greater conviction that this is the best path to a long-term business.
Awesome Stuff Buddy!
Hei,very good,BUT lets face it,not everyone hase the ability to leverage “celebrietis” and there is also a wrong way to do it like in my opinion the most IM gurus,i think people like John Reese,Yanik Silver ecc.. are damaging theyr brand,i mean on every Product that Yanik release you find a Testimonial of John Resse,Mike Filsaime,Dan Kennedy ecc..,its like “I help you and you help me” and i think people dont like it but its just my opinion and dont have to be true,i have also seen this kind of testimonials from this people on really really bad products,i mean we all now that you are all friends,we all now that when some guru release a product they get a call from..lets say Mike Filsaime “..hey Mike here, need a testimonial for your product?”,its just so old.
And yes i agree there are no secrets and hype dont work,i think also that Rich is one of few gurus you can really learn from,i think also that most gurus make a million dollars doing jv’s with huge lists selling how to make money stuff that teach people how to make 10.000$ and we wonder why thei are so rich.I think also most people dont like gurus because thei are not transparent.
I agree transparance is good. The good thing about this report or sales letter is that you show proof that you use what you teach, and you show it works also for other niches, for example the poker niche.
Good stuff
Rich,
You have opened my eyes! Best eBook I have ever read! I read AAD Part 2 in a couple hours and stopped several times to jot down all the great ideas it gave me. As a freshman college student I know I’m young (in some peoples minds just a kid) but I’m dedicated to suceeding in launching my own sucessful online business. I’m dedicated to becomming a true maven in my most passionate niche. Although I’m probably not going to be able to afford your “Business Acceleration” at the moment, hopefully sometimes next year I will. Until then I will greatly appreciate all the freebies.
Thank you,
Nick
And the million dollar question!!!! what sort of deal did you work out with the poker experts to have them work with you?
Wow! Great information Rich! You are the “bomb”! Looking forward to following up with “Business Acceleration” program and keeping all you do on my radar! Thanks for the time and effort you put into it.
Just for your info., when I entered the email addresses for referral and went to click on the link, it disappeared and all I had was “No thanks, not now”. or whatever it said. Anyway, I did try to follow thru with that. I will keep my eyes open for another opportunity as I am sure my friends will be as pleased as I for all the good info and content.
I Am,
Linda X
Amazing the way you write! Love IT!
Hi Rich,
Many thanks for this excellent resource! You are seriously over-delivering with this one. :)

Hi Rich,
Thanks for producing your doctrine, there were some great insights in it. I’m sure it will be a landmark piece just like the manifesto.
I’ve created a mind map of the Doctrine part 2, I’ll understand if you don’t want em posting that here. If so just edit the post no drama.
http://www.outsourcesuccess.com/Attention_Doctrine.pdf
I’ve created the mind map to use as a reference document rather than keep opening up the PDF. It’s not meant to replace reading the doctrine.
A couple of points for feedback, it was poor form to say that you didn’t know that Dan Thies was a client, especially one that you wanted to do business with, and not e-mailing your current clients was a pretty big oversight.
Having been a client in the first incarnation of Strategic Profits back in Sep 2006. I would say that you deliver a lot of content, its great quality however I know I am not alone in saying that it is overwhelming 150 page power points and 2 and a half hour telephone conference calls don’t really do it for me.
For some clients a (very small percentage) may and have done turned one of your ideas and spun it into a million dollar business. Most who have done were already pretty successful
But I don’t remember seeing the testimonials of too many who had little or no prior experience doing that (you can add that to your sales page for Dec 18th). You’ve probably had over 1000 clients go through your program, it should be no problem getting 10% of those to give a great testimonial, that references specific results. This is just my observation.
For the majority of people I would suggest they just us the doctrine as a wroking roadmap and just get going and do what you suggest, they don’t need any more information.
What the majority of people need is someone to kick their ass and make sure they are kept on track.
Gavin Allinson
Great read, Rich
It reminds me of my prediction some years ago that the Internet would bring the once-mighty Amway to its knees, rather than be the blessing they were expecting.
Bad opinions stick to the web forever!
Loved the bit too about the internet being the ultimate lie detector:)
Keep up the good stuff
Chz
Philip
Will you please elaborate on how internet brought down Amway to its knees?
Hi Gavin,
thanks for following in Rich’s footsteps by giving a useful tool.
The Mindmap is a great quick-reference document.
I too love to see everything on a one-page reference, so it will be printed and added to the file I’ve got Rich’s report stored in.
Cheers!
Carol
Thanks Gavin. Good mindmap! Of course, thank you very much to Rich, great insights, you’re a master.
Antonio
Great document. Real honest truths yet again. Read it once already. Acted on 2 things already. Reading it again. You got my attention!!

Thank you for your excellent report. I will certainly be recommending it to my subscribers.
You set yourself a difficult task by trying to appeal to online business people of all abilities. That, no doubt, is why a few people found it full of “fluff” whilst others found the content original and brilliant.
For those who found little new content in the report, I would say “At the very least, it should act as a reminder to actually do something about getting involved in Web 2.0″.
About six months ago, my assistant persuaded me to set up accounts at MySpace, Squidoo and the like. I did so, but not in any focused way. My first scan through your report has convinced me that I should take this whole area a lot more seriously.
I am now going to re-read your report and make a heap of Action Points for me to follow up.
One small issue.. on page 53 you say:
I may have overlooked it, but I can’t find a subsequent reference to this tool. Can you tell us where to find it, please?
Once again, thanks for a well-presented report that gives us a clear call to action.

Ian,
I didn’t see this tool mentioned in the report either, but I assume he is talking about Google Alerts as it provides this functionality.
How does one go about downloading this?
I’ve signed up, gotten the email and the links take me back to the sign up page.
Here is the link from my email:

Great work Rich!
I have read the report twice now. I have to say its very good work. I understand that I have a lot to do in the nearest future.
GIVE US MORE!
Gday Rich, i really enjoyed your insights- your knowledge is mind blowing. Regards Scott.
Rich, as a new subscriber to your program its great to hear how other people who have been in your programs a while have gotten great value from this report on top of what’s involved in the programs.
Do you have any guidance as to whether the free content given away should be software – software really just being another term for interactive content? Its just that software costs a lot more to develop that just a report.
Also what sort of business model (something has to be sold at some point for a business to be successful) do you recommend for software? The free software / charge for support/customisation model? The free software until you sell the whole package to a major such as google? Free software paid for with advertising? What business models are the most effective for software, specifically “niche” software only of use to certain industries?
Would appreciate it if you could address these issues in your material.
Thanks again for providing such massive value.
After reading(and thoroughly enjoying) The Attention Age Doctrine in September I was more than curious to receive Volume Two “Web Marketing 2.0″
I have only ‘two’ words:
“WOW”
“BRILLIANT”
Hi everyone,
Good, comprehensive report. I was amazed by his concepts. One thing though, about youtube: there maybe billion videos there, but I think, over one third of them, are worthless gigabytes, often have nothing related with a search queries.
James
I kinda knew about some of these marketing tools via Mark Filsaime (in fact that’s how I found you), but I didn’t really understand how to put everything into practice till now. I’ve been desperately searching for another alternative to the same old ad campaign, and this is definitely it! I finally found an e-book worth it’s weight.
I feel as if a whole new world has opened up for me, but I have to admit I’m overwhelmed. How do I make myself an expert in a niche when I’m just a beginner? And I’m not sure how to make this apply to what I have biz-wise. I want to jump in head first, but I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot either.
Really don’t have any suggestions because I haven’t had time to explore all your site/blog yet; I’m just looking forward to what comes next!
Hi Rich,
Oh Boy do I feel liberated.
Time is of the essence, give it time!
For months I have been feeling that I had lost the plot and that I had stopped “talking ” to people because I was too focused on “monetization”. What I mean is that I stopped educating and building relationships (even when my gut was telling me not to) and concentrated on selling. Big Mistake! Why?
Oh I made more money for a while but…
My google rank fell from 6 to 3 (not nice)
My opt-in rate fell by over 50% (even worse)
Short term gain means long term loss (worst of all).
Of course this report is part of your marketing strategy and I thank you for it being so. You have restored my faith in my judgement i.e.
Knowledge is only power when it is shared…
build knowledge, share knowledge, build trust, build business.
58 tomorrow so thanks for the early birthday present
Andrew G.
The Attention Age Doctrine 2 is a must read for anyone who is serious about conducting business on the internet.
A surprisingly quick read for 93 pages, it covers all the bases in establishing oneself as a “maven” in the world of Web 2.0 and social media. The book stresses that the marketer is no longer in control – the client/customer is. You absolutely must establish an active partnership with your clientele because they will make you or break you.
I liken the new environment to a return to the Age of Sail. Internal combustion no longer powers the ship. The wind does – and the wind will blow where it wills, not you. The knowledgeable and successful sailor will be one who can set his sails to catch the wind and use it to take him to his destination. The wind will smash the ships of the ignorant and unsuccessful on the rocks of failure.
Great job, Rich!
Hi Rich,
I must admit that for one of the few times in my life I’m at a loss for words. I’m retired (except for teaching) and for ten years I’ve tried to find the secrets to success. After spending four figures and not sure I’ve found the real answer to my search, I feel that this Attention Age Doctrine Vol.2 is what I’ve been looking for, and all of a sudden you’ve “dropped” it into my lap!
Your explanations, suggestions, and planning program contain everything I’ve never been able to find before. Words of “Thank You” aren’t even enough.
I’ll just say, “You’ve been a God-send to me and I’ll be forever grateful. I hope someday (soon?!) I’ll reach the target I’ve been searching for.
I sincerely hope that everyone who reads the Doctrine will feel as grateful as I do.

Rich,
In your email you wrote:
“I can’t emphasize this strongly enough: those who ACT on the
specific recommendations I make in the second part of this report will have a cutting-edge advantage in the open market.”
In order to act on the specific recommendations it would be nice to have a bulleted list of actionable steps at the end of the report. Currently the report is not very user friendly. You have to scan back through all of the “excessive wordiness” to get to the actionable points of your document. Don’t get me wrong, I think your document is very well written, maintains interest, etc… but unless you create this summary at the end, then for most people this will just be intellectual entertainment and a waste of 90 minutes.
Hi Rick,
Brilliant + logical read, and all achieved without video or audio?!
Somewhat ironic eh?
It strikes me it’s not just about attention, but “choices” fullstop. A transformation from 90’s efficiency to the classic BE-DO-HAVE model of influence.
There’s as much to learn from you by watching you in action as listening to you.
Many thanks,
Noel Lyons.
I just read the entire report, and I found the info to be spot on! I can’t wait to practice what is preached !
I’m just starting out in Internet Marketing, and all the information thet is out there has been mind boggling; that is, until now when I read your report. I am now beginning to realize just how unimportant a lot of the hype I have been reading actually is. Many thanks for some great new concepts and ideas. I’m looking forward to the 18th December!
Very excited about reading it. I just need to find the time!
Hi Rich
Happy to provide feedback as requested:
I don’t pretend to be at all knowledgeable about Internet marketing so I found doctrine2 very interesting and something of a relief, to be honest.
Interesting because, if you’re right, it’s shifting the propensity for success to the “good guyâ€. A relief because it intimates that small businesses and their (often) small budgets can now operate on a much more level playing field with the big guys.
The gamut of the comments posted here is intriguing, too: Everything from ‘Well done, lad!’ to ‘Didn’t get much of value for my 90 minutes reading’ (all puff and no substance implied).
I can’t help thinking that the latter attitude often accompanies those that want you to actually do it (whatever ‘it’ happens to be) for them ;).
I’ve only read through the document once so far and suspect that more will be revealed on further readings. I’ve printed it out as suggested and given that to my much more savvy partner for further perusal.
Thank you
Linda
It’s 1.30am (Australia time) and I’ve got to get to bed but I’ve stayed up to finish reading the Attention Age Doctrine 2. I’ve been in IT all my career but only just discovering what’s really going on in the bowels of the internet. I have a book I’m trying to sell on the internet and totally bogged down with all the SOE, pay-for click etc and even just finding somebody who can really get a full and functional website up and running!
So this report was a breath of fresh air and gives me a whole new perspective about other areas I should be addressing.
Thanks
Cheers for the timing of this report Rich,
Now I know for sure I’m on the right track and it’s the Web2.0 knockers who are wrong.
Thanks Rich for a well communicated insight on the emerging dynamics of the web. Although, I’m a little surprised the list of those inspiring you omits Mark Joyner and Seth Godin…….who first understood and articulated the concepts you espouse.
IMHO – the great contribution you bring to IM is your grasp of the concept of “leverage”…..an overdue knowledge transfer from the “real” world of business.
The IM space seems largely populated with “individual contributers” who need constant reminder of the difference between a hobby/pastime/job and a business – namely, leverage…….and the mindset, systems and tools required to create and develop leverage.
This piece is about creating credibility and leveraging Web 2.0 communications. A timely and welcome contribution.

I had to laugh…..at myself.
I’ve bought all kinds of info about online marketing, some good – some not so good.
I’ve spent a lot of time studying, digesting, looking for the magic formula, and asking the magic question “How do I get traffic ?”
In the meantime, a gifted guitarist named Andy McKee has had over 9,325,000 views on YouTube for his song “Drifting”. That since last November.
Your report helped me connect the dots…and I had to laugh.
Thanks Rich,

i’ve signed up 3 times already but no report yet!

Has anyone figured out why some of us don’t get an email to download this report?
I have registered three email addresses from two different machines and not a single email reply on how to download?
Does someone else have a place that this report can be gotten to see what is in the thing?
Thanks,

Rich can you show me some quick cash generting methods,
so I can come out little bit from my bad current financial
condition.

Great report. Or should I say great pre-launch sales pitch. Not dissing you, it was brilliant and I’m sure it will benefit you with a new fortune all over again. And I honestly received some value from it so you did what you wanted.
But I must agree with some of the comments I have read concerning the presentation. Kind of cheesy Rich. With all the money you have reported you’ve made, I expected a more professional looking pdf with decent graphics. But maybe you don’t need a professional looking presentation because you are a Maven!
To your success,

Rich,
Another “Rich Schefren classic” in the making as I comment here. Outstanding content, actionable formula and as the other gentleman alluded, a model campaign for those who can “see” it. It is current, topical and useful information.
It is a lesson within a lesson for those who choose to take the time to understand both the content and what you have created with The Attention Age Doctrine Parts I & II.
Thanks for the effort and hard work!
Hi there,
The first thought that ran to mind after downloading this doctrine was ” why would I share this with anyone, I want to use this to my sole advantage & race ahead of everyone else who has not got this doctrine…. ”
Well if I was really like that, I might find myself being written about in another doctrine of Rich’s,
This doctrine is a brilliant piece of work & I just wish every new & old web marketer was made read it before pumping their hard cash into PPC, Get Rich Quick Schemes, & useless SEO methods, only to be left broke & defeated by the entity that is the modern day internet, erf : – (

Rich,
All I can say is “WOW”. What an eye opener. I am pretty new to all this web 2.0 stuff but man what a recipe for success. It took me a day and a half to absorb everything. You d’man.

Hi all: Report works fine if you have adobe 7.0 or higher. You can get in on the download page or go to Afdobee.com direct.
http://www.adobe.com
hi everyone,
thanks for all the comments – for those of you who haven’t gotten the doctrine yet because of some technical problem we are now setting up a seperate email address to email us.
if you haven’t received the email getting your download – or you got it but have been redirected to the opt-in page – what you need to do is email us from the email account that you opted-in from.
we will then check the email to make sure it’s in our system and if it is we will send you a different download link.
i have a conference call to do right now – but i’ll have someone from my office post under my name here with the email address.
i’ve got a lot more to share with everyone today – stay tuned….
Hi everybody,
I’m also having difficuties downloading the report.
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro and I keep getting “bad encrypt dictionary” after trying to download. Adobe seens to work fine, I’ve never had a problem with it.
I get this message whether I open it with Firefox or IE.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Thanks Rich! Amazing report :-)

This couldn’t have came at a better time. I am just working on a piece like this to give away at our website and wasn’t sure if it was the way to go. Now I’m sure that it is, and will be making it available as an e-book, podcast, video series, as well as handing out CD’s to clients.
Who ever thought the idea of building relationships and providing value would be such a hard concept for people to grasp. Thanks for putting it into plain speak with a ton of examples Rich!
Attention is valuable, but it’s what you do with it once you have it that’s important.
Thank you for providing such great value Rich. You won’t see a dime from a whole lot of people that read this because you sell such high end products, but when hundreds of thousands of people read your ideas, you only have to sell to a small percentage to get your returns.
Having said that, this document should help more people grow their businesses to a point where they are able to afford your programs. Your long term vision is incredible.
Thank you again,

Rich,
I’ve been reading your material for a few years now, and am continually blown away with your integrity, knowledge, and insight.
Thank you so much for yet another spectacular offering.

Rich, thanks for your generosity of spirit in putting this report in reach of the many instead of the few. I particularly enjoyed the revelations about those who sought to end-run the 2.0 communities, like the Wal-mart blogs, Sony, etc. Transparency is the new black! (You can quote me.)
While the prospect of earning Maven status in such a crowded space is daunting, it’s also liberating to see/hear that it is actually in reach, if you work hard and use the right tools. In the past, that status was solely the province of companies and people with massive budgets and hordes of PR flacks.
Not anymore.
Keep the insights coming,
Cay
Yet another amazing offering from the leading mind in business today.
Thank you so much for your generosity and integrity.

Rich,
You didn’t say anything new. Some of the stuff in the report on becoming the expert is on the 4-hour workweek book. The rest has been around the net for months now, read PR Review and it’s all there.
I do commend you for packaging everything in one piece.
I still have questions that I’m sure you’ll use in your next promotional material and seminaries:
1) If you didn’t have Jay Abrahams and Mike Filsame as “clients and friends for a long time”, would your results have been the same?
2) If you didn’t have the money to pay your team to do the TIME CONSUMING effort it takes to find, read, interact, etc etc with the web 2.0 community, would your results have been the same?
3) How can the average guy who only can afford to to everything himself put your strategies in practice?
4) How can the average guy who has a day job and then puts up extra time at home building an online business to break free from the 9-5 chain find even MORE time to cater to the slow Web 2.0 efforts?
Web 2.0 works and it’s a lot of HARD work. I know that, that’s how I’m building my business http://www.MotivationEmergency.com but for the average person who can’t afford media brokers or your consultancy fees it takes a lot more than 12 months.
Try doing it yourself alone without your contacts and your money and then send us the report.
Now THAT would be really VALUABLE.
Claudia Juárez
Well said Claudia.
These are my questions too.
Rich,
This report is AWESOME. It was like it was written just for me.

Hi Rich,
Great doctrine. It’s an excellent amplification of the works of Al Ries & Jack Trout who talked about the overcrowding of the marketplace and the loss of effectiveness of old marketing tactics and media.
Excellently presented and argued. I’m just beginning to get online and I’ve definitely benefited from your doctrine. I’m a fan.
Thank you Rich.

Rich,
Thanks so much for the easy, simple and do-able attitude and map for what to do next on the internet.
I want to thank you for making such a strong case for offering value as opposed to the take-take-take mentality that is driving many of the decisions of today’s internet marketers. I’m an info junkie but I’ve been burned enough times to be very wary who I give my attention to. With me, everyone starts out with an A, but a marketer will quickly get “the boot” (aka Unsubscribe) if they abuse my attention.
I hope that some marketers reading this will take to heart the fact that burning someone can be as seemingly innocent as promoting an affiliate program with all hype and no relationship building. Here’s a specific example – I’m subscribed to MANY lists because I want to stay on top of trends and also to study how marketers write copy and build relationships.
It’s a sad fact that most of the marketers whose list I’m on will send me nearly the exact same email to promote the newest product launch. This does NOT strengthen the relationship with their list. I almost always unsubscribe from a list when a marketer takes this road instead of taking the time to clearly explain to me WHY they’re promoting a particular product in language that I (an average guy trying to find his place in the internet marketing realm) speak and understand.
The Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 is a call to arms for marketers to treat their subscribers, prospects and customers as well as they treat their best friends and family, with the payoff being an unhindered communication channel called trust that will inevitably result in business success. Thank you Rich!
I have to echo the thoughts of the minority of posters above, i.e., you’ve done a decent job of putting a lot of concepts in one place, but I didn’t find any one of them ground-breaking or original.
To be brutally honest, the whole thing felt like a carefully crafted sales letter. In two drawn-out parts. On the surface it may look to be what you espouse in the contents, giving away your secrets for free. But when the whole deal leads up to the impending event of a new product launch, I can’t help but feel like I’ve been targeted by a master copywriter.
Regards,
Joel
Hi Rich, if I may call you by your first name. You are incredible, how you managed to put all that together & make sense is fantastic. I have d/loaded it and will digest it as many times as I can & when it makes me a multi-millionaire I’ll send you a dollar in appreciation, joking apart it is a tremendous read and if I am able to follow thru i expect to be joining you, laptop in hand, in the Carribean.
Very much appreciated
Keep smiling

As someone that went through Rich’s Business Growth coaching and now Eben Pagan’s Altitude program, it’s important to first establish your mindset into thinking “so much bigger” In other words, look at the bigger picture of where you want your business to go and all of a sudden, you switch from the “opportunity seeker” to the “value giver”
And if you’re ever going to grow a large business, it’s imperative to understand that you’re never going to do it yourself. You need to leverage both your customers as well as colleagues in your market.
My 2 biggest keys to success:
1. Change your thinking and mindset to look at the big picture of where you want your business to go.
2. Realize that you can’t do it all yourself and establish systems to help you outsource more.

The attention age doctrine is compelling reading, and when Rich Schefren sends me an email like this I simply stop what I am doing rearrange my day and begin reading. Rich is a master thinker that is able to communicate business related concepts that invite you to “Trust Rich” to give you the official word on all things relevant to this “Now” adventure we participate in as a community where we meet with our “Guru Rich”. We meet because we believe in our business and we know that coming together with Rich will give us the direction that supports growth. The clarity that is available to Rich is awesome and the generous nature Rich has to share his reports is nothing less than a magnificent gesture. I always know I will be exposed to new ideas and concepts that will provoke thought and inspire through Rich’s unparalled leadership and marketing prowess. Rich just keeps on giving. I am always honored to leave a comment about how much I appreciate the high level reports Rich shares with his community. Epiphany and Revelation is common place for me when I step into these reports. Thank You From the bottom of my heart for your generous sharing. This report caused me to “See” through the Guiding Light you are to me.
Hi Rich,
This is a good guide you’ve put together. A lot of it isn’t news to the younger crowd such as myself who have been immersed in social media for years, but it helped me to have the major principles codified and expressed lucidly. A few suggestions:
- Some of the “negatives” that you put on the blue sides of your slides still seem to be at work in your own marketing — for example, there’s a slide where “false scarcity” is labeled as one of the old manipulative techniques that won’t work anymore, and it seems like that’s exactly what you’re doing with your upcoming course (offering a limited number of spots even though it’s digital content and there need be no such limits.) Or am I misreading you here?
- If I remember correctly, the report promised specifics in the beginning–something on the order of a step-by-step plan for making the most of the key features of the Attention Age–or if it didn’t say that explicitly, I at least got the impression that that’s what I’d get. So I was hoping to see some information on HOW to make use of viral marketing, HOW to get people engaged, and so forth, rather than simply hearing about the importance of doing so. You had some of that, but I would have liked to see more given the grandiosity of the claims at the beginning.
- This is very nitpicky, but quite a few typos and the fact that it looked like slides had been copy-pasted directly from a PowerPoint rather distracted from the presentation.
But on the whole, thank you for a good and useful report.
Hey Rich,
Is there more. Nice.

I was reading the report all night till 4:30 in the morning. And wokeup early in the morning for work so can’t even open my eyes to comment.
But I got the picture…
I’m going through hard time this week and last week and this report came just on time to give me that extra push. I had 3 slaps on my head in that morning, then the report to hand me the tissue in that same evening..Yes it made me cry!
It was touching a soft spot in me that believe it or not I was half crying, half reading. It just touched me this report.
Or maybe it was a bad timing all this pressure in me exploded last night when I started reading the report. I don’t know.
It was great. Congradulation Richard for a report well done!
I better go now as I don’t feel ok today.
Hi Rich,
I just want to say a big thankyou! I must admit, I knew that web2.0 had a big role to play in the future of Internet marketing, but I just didn’t get how big until I read your report.
I loved you plain speaking style of telling it like it is. For the first time, I feel like I had a moment of clarity. You certainly did get my attention. This is the first report that read through from start to finish without getting distracted in weeks.
To be honest, I have read some of the negative comments and really do not see what there is to complain about. So what if you did a little promoting. The fact Is you have given good solid advice based on principles. And that works for me anyday of the week.
God Bless you and yours!
Like all clever marketers, Rich has held back more than he has delivered. I suppose this is his way of filling his program.
The information he did impart on us was quite useful and will probably influence the marketing decisions of some. However I would like to know how many Mavens will emerge as a result of this work.
Hi Rich!!
Thanks sooo’ much for the report. I enjoyed hearing you speak live at the ETR event a few months ago & this helps solidfy the concepts that you shared then. Clearly you have invested a lot of time to put this together – it’s a great read!
I look forward to keeping my focus on becoming a champion, advocate & trusted advisor rather than a “marketer”!!
Thanks again Rich,
Pete
Rich,
I get what you are saying. Provide value, value, value. The 5 case history examples you gave are amazing how power has shifted to individuals today which can bring big corporation down. Thanks for providing this.
Manny
Hi rich,
It is really, really great !
Will it work like that :
Web 2.0 >> Marketing 2.0 >> Business 2.0 >> Life 2.0 ?
Regards,

Hello, Rich …
Just a note to say …
that your new “Attention Age Doctrine Part 2″ gave me such pleasure!
It’s wonderful to know that “the good guys” are going to win … at last !!!
Also, I especially enjoyed the bit about how “coining a phrase” can boost results.
Although I can’t believe I’m saying this, I actually did that and it’s actually happening just like you said.
In the beginning, there were 0 results in Google for “reverse-margin marketing”. Today when I checked there were 984! And all the results on the first page are mine!
Plus, your report has inspired me to create some more content on this subject which I feel sure my market will appreciate.
Ideas are flowing thick and fast!
Thank you for inspiring me.
Regards, Elizabeth …
:)
P.S. You’ve made me proud to know you.
I’ve sensed for a long time that “there must
be a better way” than, as you put it, “gaming
the system” and using all kinds of tricky-dick
ways of getting noticed. You’ve helped me –
and many, many others, too, I’m sure — to have
the courage of our convictions on this point.
Hi Rich-
Another homerun!
Clearly, Web 2.0 will change how everyone does business- both on and off of the internet. You have such clarity in your ability to communicate the impact of “Marketing meets Web 2.0″ those of us wanting to obtain maximal benefit from the new world of the social internet.
Thanks!
Lisa
Thank you Rich, reading your Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 made me attracted fully and with enjoy sit until end. I very like, this what I wait, I will share all who I meet and get their attention.
Deep Regards,
Alvin
hey everyone…
first, the email address to email if you are still having trouble getting the report is doctrine(at)strategicprofits.com (you’ll have to use @ but I wrote it out so spammers don’t hit it so soon) and we are monitoring it – but we are incredibly busy with everything going on – so I don’t have anyone sitting in front of the computer for it so expect a reply in 60 minutes or less.
second, I mentioned I had to get on a conference call and man did this guy absolutely blow my mind and at the same time confirm everything I am talking about in the doctrine.
what do I mean by that?
for starters…
how about building 50 million dollar business through social media?
or….
what if i told you that he became the maven in the wine business?
or….
getting on dateline, connan obrien, ellen, the front page of the wall st journal (like me – sorry had to brag for a second there)?
or….
getting 50 different proposals from different producers and tv channels for your own show?
interesting huh?
well the guy i interviewed is gary vaynerchuck. and right now we are preparing the mp3 and getting the interview transcribed – so you can expect to get it in the next couple of days.
but i strongly recommend you check out what he’s doing and you can do that by going to his site at:
Gary Vaynerchuck
I’ve got more to share with you today – so I better get back to work…
till later

Hi Rich,
Great content, and a true brain dump from one of the best minds I have admired for the past couple of years (yes, that means your mind).
I devoured the doctrine yesterday, and have re-read it twice today. Much of what I have been seeing in the past few months is where Web 2.0 is heading, just as you write about.
Much of my groundwork currently is geared along the same lines that you have put in the report, so I feel fortunate that I am on the right track. I tried to learn from my late father who worked in broadcasting for many years, seeing how changes occurred in that arena, and now how similar growth and opportunities are happening online.
I know your upcoming course will be well-received!
Thanks once again,
Paul
You Got My Attention Rich!
Yesterday was one of those days. I got notice that your Attention Age Doctrine was released first thing in the morning, of course I opted in straight away. Then I got busy with the tasks that I had to get on with. When the link came into my inbox, I downloaded and printed your document as suggested (definitely not a waste of paper). Then true to the ‘Attention Age Doctrine’, I was pulled in 10 different directions and so, still hot of the printer, your report got relegated to the corner of the desk for the rest of the day.
Most of the attention grabbers yesterday were paying customers and so it was nothing that could be put off. Have you ever been towards the end of a great novel only to have an unexpected guest arrive and prattle on with nonsense for hours? That is how I felt all afternoon knowing that I wanted to dig into your manifesto. To top things off, I had a dinner engagement that I had to rush off to straight after work. I was very tempted to rush down and grab it from my desk while my wife did the finishing touches (hair and make-up) but I knew that would only afford me 10- 15 minutes max…just a tease I thought.
The company was good but the food less so and in the early hours I lie in bed with heart burn wondering about your manifesto. I usually rise at 4am and had set my alarm for 3am so I could steal an extra hour to read the much anticipated report, but I gave up and headed for the office at 2am. The first thing I do is fire up the pc and start checking email, next thing I am working on a landing page for upcoming teleseminar, talk about Attention Deficit! Boy you are so spot on about that.
An hour and a half later the magic moment arrived, the bloody Internet connection drops out! (My ISP seems to think no one works at 3am here in Australia.) So in the quiet of the early morning, with no other distractions, there is me and your Attention Age Doctrine (Oh, I have a bone to pick with you by the way, it took me 120 minutes to read, not 90 like you promised!). I think I will write a letter to my ISP and thank them, that was the best 2 hours reading I have spent in a long while, bloody brilliant!
One more problem, don’t read this before bed, it doesn’t work. At 5:30am I finally turned the last page and decided to go and get a few winks and 2 hours later I was getting roused on by my wife for tossing and turning and keeping her up. So here I am again, writing this and it is all your fault Rich!
Thank You for a wonderful piece of work.
Steve Anderson
Hey Rich,
Your report reflects my sentiments relating to the future of internet marketing.
…Especially recently, I have noticed that the majority of advertisers seem to be desperate for attention, while their audience – or rather, lack of – has no trust or concern for their increasingly empty offers.
The solution may be obvious to some, but for the rest they needed you to say it loud and clear:
Provide extreme value freely.
Then leverage that value by integrating it with the exponentially-blooming resources of Web 2.0.
THEN utilize all of that attention to build an empire. :)
I do have a question though. On page 84 you talk about turning a launch into a story. My upcoming website, which just so happens to provide extreme value freely, with touches of controversy spiced about here and there, has a story on the “sales page”, but when you referenced the concept, you meant in the marketing for the site; “and to continue paying attention until the story is fully told and the product is officially for sale”.
This assumes that there is already a network in place for the story to be told, whether that be JV partners’ emails to their list, pre-launch phase landing pages, etc.
What should those who are simply launching their sites, without that network in place, do to have an ongoing story to pique the interest of their prospects?
(I’m not particularly worried since I will have many automatic viral things going on, plus the inherent attention-getters of the content, but it would be nice to know and enhance the experience.)
Also, I have a pressing concern for you:
How many copies of your Business Acceleration Program will be available? For what length of time? I definitely want to get my hands on it, but I am so busy I will have to reorganize things.
You’re amazing, Rich.
-J.D. Nunes
OK I had to put in another post because I just got another call from a friend I did a “send to friends” for and she thanked me for sending her the doctrine. Everything you guys are doing is making a big splashand i love learning from it. Keep it comming.
Ralph
In a word mindblowing, truth is I’ve never read an e-book until today. I found myself in a tunnel of info never revealed to me. I now understand how powerful the internet is and the future is’nt was it used to be. This WAS a powerful read, info overload thanks for your efforts to help others you’ll be richly rewarded. Stan
Fantastic stuff.Rich is living Jay Abraham’s “Strategy of Preeminence”.
For people selling products that they aren’t passionate about Web Marketing 2.0 sounds like alot of work. For people passionate about their products then it really isn’t work at all.
Hi Rich,
I have been waiting patiently for this second part to come out, and I have to say a part of me was a little disappointed, though another part of me was glad to read what you wrote.
Disappointed because there was a lot of information in there that was covered within the http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com, which I am surprised no one here has mentioned.
However, your doctrine took my understanding of what I learned within the Thirty Day Challenge to another level. It confirmed what I’ve been doing and where I’m heading… and it helped me to change directions in some areas where I was unsure of where I was going or doing.
I was a little disappointment at the end of page 93 as I felt you left out a lot of critical information, more the how’s and where’s than the why’s, and you ended it on a bad note in telling me I should do this and this, and that you will be opening seats to your upcoming program soon. You mention in the doctrine about steps that you would go through, I know that there are steps throughout the content of the doctrine, but having a brief conclusion and recap of things (as someone else mentioned in the comments here earlier) would have been a much better way to end the doctrine than promoting something. I think it would have been more tasteful to have had a link or something similar within the footer of your doctrine directing readers to get more information about your program.
As someone else mentioned, you say that they old ways of marketing are starting to head behind us, and it’s time to embrace the new marketing strategies of web 2.0… yet you do the exact opposite within your doctrine… to me that’s not walking the walk.
With that said, I did get much out of your doctrine and look forward to everything else that you put out. I have been following you since you “arrived” on the scene, and have read everything you have produced. You have a way of saying things that bring on “light bulb moments” for me, and for that I truly thank you!

Rich, I really like your graphic examples of how honesty in online business is the best policy and that it actually makes your business stronger!
This is something I’ve argued with my father in law about often.
He is an owner of a very large business and just says that is how things are done in the business world.
I find it VERY refreshing that being honest and above board is what will make money in online business.
That has always been my policy. To be good to your customers and not screw people over.
I’m glad to know that the future (and millions) are coming to those who care and have integrity. :)
Thanks for the valuable info.
I’ve been doing some and now know what parts I’m missing.
Take care!
Eldra
I am truly Grateful for you. Rich! What a well-planned, informative and fun to read document. (I haven’t heard some of those comments in years). Thank you for all you do for your faithful peers!
This information will definitely change the way many people market online–especially yours truly!
Be Blessed!
:) Hello Rich, From NZ,
Maybe it is our time zone, but I never had any problems downloading it straight away, I guess on the odd occasion it is an advantage not being in the U.S. LOL..
Great read, brilliant in fact, I have noticed lately a lot of your clients have changed their marketing strategies, as I am on a few of their lists….
Part 2 , did confirm exactly what I had been thinking about a lot just lately, so I feel I am at least heading in the right direction ….
The trust issue can be tricky, but I love the fact the truth comes out eventually & the dishonest ones do get caught…
Although occasionally some of the forums etc, are used to discredit legitimate companies by the competition… so pays to do your own due diligence at the end of the day, & like the example you gave, even they too will get caught out eventually.
I never advertise anything I either haven’t bought or tried out myself, that actually works or is of benefit to people in some way, but when no one knows who the heck you are..
* No trust! & Fair enough, when there is so much BS out there after all…
So your advice is something I will be taking heed of most certainly…
Even the advertising that worked well, even 6 months ago is now less effective, so I know you are 100% correct in what you have shared in part 2 of the doctrine..
It may take a little longer to get where you want to be, but will be worth it in the long run…
I have only just started in the social networking scene, with Friends Win, which is fairly new and similar to MySpace etc, You do get to know people quite quickly, & find out who the spammers are, and who is there to help others!
Shameless plug here: if I may, but it is fun…and New!
http://www.MyFriendsWinSite.com
Just recently I have also noticed a lot more well known marketers are using your strategies, e.g. Kevin Wilke, with his new Dirty Laundry Report, & a little less well known maybe until recently, Mike Antonio with his Pete Report, short for(Pink Elephant Truth Exposed) both excellent and have gone extremely viral very quickly..
Did they get a copy of part 2 early perhaps? :)
So it works obviously, & works very well…
Once Again, I thank you for such great information, that will change the way online business is conducted from now on!
Sincerely Dianne in NZ :)
Thank you for part 2…the Manifesto was great for the sheer shock value, but part 2 really delivers a lot of specific, actionable items with excellent reasons backing them up, making them logical and easy to understand.
Yes, Yes , YES!
Honesty, integrety, congruity, great value, instruction/training and perseverance is a formula that will work when coupled with inspiration, and a great mentor.
Action, (taking the next step) sticking to it and keeping the end in mind will get one from HERE to THERE.!
Thanks for showing the path and how to set fingers on the keyboard; the rest is up to _____(you know who).

Unfortunately, despite registering several times and referring lots of friends, I have yet to receive the magical link to the download.
Any others have the same problem?
Is Time for the Good To Stand Up, Gang Up and Contribute!
Here is a few of my practices to deal with the so-called Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) syndrome of our times
1)E-mail
I have 3 email account, 1 for research, 1 for work, 1 for personal.
I had been using DBR (Destroy Before Reading) for any spam looking mails.
All my friend know I won’t be reading their forwarded mails if they did not at least address me in person on the subject line and add value to what they want to send me.
I did the same to them.
This works better than any SPAM filters software I had tried. Trust Me, you won’t lost any important info. If anyone would urgently need you, they will get you, one way or the other.
2) I had 2 MSN ID one for work, one for personal use and blocked all my MSN messenger contact and only unblock one at a time to deal with people I need to deal with…ONE AT A TIME!
3) My start page for my Internet Browser is Google because it is clean and has no “advertising†distraction what so ever.
All these practice is my own personal way to combat the ADD syndrome, though most of my peers at work always feel I am kind of extreme at this! By over the years when they found out the efficiency of my work, many began to see the benefits and start to follow suit.
However, I consider the Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) in our age now is actually a Great Opportunity for any “Talented Good Will Persona†to succeed like never before. Yes, like you said: “The Good Guys WILL WIN!â€
The Attention Age is an Age where people will have no choice but to go back to the very basic goodness of humanity. Yes is super cheap easy nowadays to send an email, build a website, place a PPC ads and drive traffic! Yet is also super easy to delete a mail, close a window and even with a tiny bit of effort simply off the PC for Good and go read a good book instead. Most of the Big Boys don’t get this! We simply cannot “BUY†attention anymore! We need to EARN it! Through providing real and sincere benefits to the public at large.
Rich, your Doctrine is more than Though Provoking! I consider it GOOD NEWS to be spread like fire! It simply empowers every good individual to really stand up, gang up and be bold to contribute like never before be it in business, work or life.
Rich,
Again, another awesome report. This is what I’ve been trying to get my clients to understand over at SocialMediaBlaster.com.
While I have tools people can use to help automate their social media marketing, it’s the human interaction that will get them more of a return. Now I’m telling them to get your AAD2. It takes everything to the next level. And I mean Everything!
Sincerely,
Michael S. Copeland

Was grateful to be a little under the weather yesterday allowing me to read your report at a more leisurely pace, rather than fast paced skimming as I do most information products in my limited time – got to work hard to get my attention ;)
Here is my advice to Rich:
True we are working on business building here, but there is a GREAT story in there.. its an autobiography. Combine it to whatever personal background you offered in your manifestos, add a little filler, and BAM you have a great personal success autobiography. Now you are an AUTHOR as well :)
Here is my advice to other readers:
The story is what pulls it together, but the text in the images throughout the doctrine is where you can refer back to for your action steps.
Thanks!

Rich,
Are the previous parts of this publication still available?
Thank you,

As a somewhat “retired” salesman with 25 years in the Life Assurance Industry, I found your document remarkable. It brought back all the things that I was taught when trying to become a professional sales person… which can be boiled down into one statement:
“People don’t care how much you know… they want to know how much you care.”
Hi Rich–
I just read every word.
Pat O’Bryon, at Your Portable Empire University, has been advising his students about the value of the social network.
You forgot to mention Second Life–a powerful medium because you are doing social networking in 3-D–
I’ve grown close and very protective of Mooie Infinity, my SL avatar.
In fact, when I began blogging under the name Mooie Infinity at the John Edwards For President website, they accused me of plaglarizing Kate Loving Shenk.
That seemed significant–a good example, perhaps, of how this thing rolls out.
Your piece is inspiring and excellent.
Thank you!
Kate Loving Shenk
When I first signed up to get the doctrine, I didn’t go through an affiliate link (although I received several), and I never got the email for download. Then this morning I tried going through an affiliate link and resubmitted my info (it was all filled in when I got to the signup page, so I know I had the cookie), I got the email to download in about 2 minutes.
So there’s probably a little bug in the signup process that is excluding people that don’t go through one of your affiliates.
I’ve just glanced at the book so far, and it looks like all the time was spent on graphics! That’s why it’s 5meg.
Another great job Rich!
The question I have is that my business is a B2B business and I’ve been struggling to think of how “Social media” is relevant to B2B businesses?
Since most of our target audience aren’t “tech savvy” most of this Web 2.0 stuff is foreign to them.
Excellent reading…very intriguing!..and makes a ton of sense ot me. I don’t currently have an online business, but this information helps clear up what has to be done. Thanks a bunch!
I thought my presence on the web was on point. Rich has shown me quickly that my media exposure on over 1000 radio stations across the US has been vastly underused. I was pitching a sale when I could have been giving it all away with a higher purpose.
Thanks Rich for opening my eyes to today and the future. I feel like I am just waking up from a long slumber. Your tips will propel my business in the direction I only thought I was steering it. Remember my name, Frank Curtin, because your going to see it alot!
Kudos to you!
YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!
This is powerful stuff!
A must read for anyone, small business or Fortune 500, trying to get their message across.
Hello Rich,
As someone completely new to internet marketing I welcome your “out of the box” thinking. I’m a baby-boomer that has experience with traditional sales and marketing but have found internet marketing to be a totally different animal. I’m not that familiar with internet jargon and have found plowing through internet marketing training to be both exciting and bewildering. Since I am currently in the mode of trying to figure out a niche market that I am “passionate” about, I am finding this to be particularly difficult. I can appreciate the comment from tao83 who says, “most of our target audience aren’t “tech savvy” most of this Web 2.0 stuff is completely foreign to them”. I do feel as though I am in a different country when trying to figure how to proceed. With most of the basic internet marketing training programs that I have looked at there seems to be a presumption that the new student has at least an understanding of the basics. Do you have any suggestions on how to get “up to speed” as quickly as possible? Do you have any suggestions on how to find a niche market that one is not only really passionate about but also can make uniquely their own? If you can recommend some strategies for approaching these two questions – that would be wonderful. Also, I believe your “Business Acceleration” home study course will be truly beneficial for someone like myself. However, I honestly feel that I need to be further along in my training – that I should at least have selected a niche market. What do you think? I welcome your response and appreciate your taking the time to read this. By the way, will you have an affiliate program for the home study course? And, what other affiliate programs do you currently have? Thank you.
Enjoyed the read immensely, finally a straight up no funny stuff, scoop on “The Way” to go about doing it>right.
One POWERFUL report! I’ve read a plethora of IM reports during the past two months as I dove into online profit hunting. Rich’s book punctuated the importance of honest business practices, and the philosophy that I’ve always subscribed to that ‘good guys win.’
The strategies outlined in this report will become a vital part of my IM education.
Thank you Rich!

Attention Age Doctrine report?
Rich
I just spent my morning reading your doctrine. It was refreshing to find REAL content………Thank you sincerely!
I am new to making money from the internet and have tried countless “Phenominal-Guaranteed-Let Us Do All the Work” promotions. I feel after reading your doctrine that I do at least have more of a road map to create my own success..
Thanks again Carl Frost
Just to prove the point of this document regarding social media and bad news being out there…..
WOW another pre-sales hype sales letter! and at 93 pages that is a lot of hype. The part I like the best was where you hinted at how EXPENSIVE this program will be.
I find it sad that a company that supposedly makes $7.5 million a year selling information about online marketing has more comments about problems with downloading and/or viewing the PDF than anything else.
Do us all a favor and next time just send the short one page version of the sales letter like everyone else – back to basics so to speak.
That’s an interesting comment. And I suppose I can understand where you are coming from.
I would say though if you ignore the last chapter, which is the ’sales pitch’ I suppose (and why shouldn’t Rich reveal that he’s got more to share?) the rest of the report is pure insights to what he’s discovered and put into practice.
Perhaps you already knew most of it, in which case it was no revelation to you. I already knew the principles but still found it interesting – regardless of the final message.
As regards the PDF downloads – in my experience the problem with opening these files often is down to a glitch on the recipients system, using an old version of Acrobat Reader or some such techy problem.
Carol
In this age of attention deficiency, it took me all day yesterday to get through the book, but it’s content was compelling enough to draw me back to devour and complete it!
Great insights and direction, Rich!
I am guilty of being focused on “traffic” as some inhuman commodity that I can convert into dollars by developing the relationship post-acquisition.
I am a marketer, (of course), but apparently, have had a mindset that I need to manipulate people somehow, to get them to do what I want, because you don’t get their attention otherwise. And I’ve been focused on the quickest way to a “customer”, rather than earning their trust and respect, first. And I might ad, it hasn’t been working all that well!
I really do believe in delivering great value and service and it will be gratifying to apply these tools and ideas!
Thanks again!
Judy
Once again, solid, timely, and actionable information from the guru’s guru. I’m planning to go through the doctrine a few more times to make sure I don’t miss any nuggets.
Thanks Rich for the great stuff.
Brian
Finally managed to download part 2. I have a predicament and would like some suggestions on how to chose which path to follow. I’ve over 10 years experience in the technology industry in South Africa. A few years ago I positioned myself as an online expert by publishing research into the online dating industry. This led to a sidetrack where I became totally absorbed in the seduction community. To get to the point I’m considered a dating expert in South Africa and an online expert. I have absolutely no competition as a dating coach but I have not products or programs just yet. My income has taken off in the last 6 months as I launched blogging seminars and give talks around the country on the psychology of technology.
My question is how to chose which to pursue or do I do both?
I feel left out. I have gone through the process of opting in 4 or 5 times now and still no E-mail with download link. But from reading the comments I guess it wouldn’t matter since I run Win98 and the highest Acrobat supported is 6.0. I am having the same problems with many of the other reports and books lately. Since I am on a very limited disability retirement I can’t afford to upgrade. That is the reason I have been trying to break into an on-line business. Oh, well. Thanks for the effort Rich. I have read your other reports and found them to be very educational and well worth getting. Wishing you the best in your ventures and a very Merry Christmas.
Thanks again.
Ken
To those who have snide remarks to make about the report, e.g., “nothing new here, ” “this is just a long sales letter,” etc. etc. ad nauseam, I have a couple of things to say.
Maybe it’s not news to you but obviously to most of the people who responded it’s new to them or at least a clarification of things they may already have heard of but weren’t quite up to speed on.
As to whether it was a sales letter, of course it was. Rich said iin the first few pages that he was marketing his new program with this report. If you had read the report you would know that and no comment would be required.
I think you misunderstood the concept of “piggybacking” presented in the report. The idea behind “piggybacking” is to leverage the attention that someone more well known than yourself gets to make and leave a positive impression of yourself. You, however, have managed to turn the concept on its head by leveraging the attention Rich is getting with this report and leaving the impression that you are, to put it delicately, “jerks.”
There’s an old saying: “You can’t build yourself up by tearing someone else down.”
George Gould
http://www.gcgould.com
Rich,
I appreciate your point and well expected to be called a jerk (at the very least).
My point is that Rich (who I never even heard of before this report) was only giving the same old sales pitch masked in “free information”. His “step by step action plan” he promises on page 7 & 10 is detailed on page 91.
(1) buy my new expensive product on Dec 18th.
It all goes to prove the only way to make money online is to sell information to other rubes about how to make money online.
But George,
Rich says not to look like a marketer and then does. This is the big problem.
I think it is a valuable read though.
If giving is only a prelude to taking, then is it truly giving??
Out of all the words, sentences, pages in this 93 page document, the most telling ones are the those that allude to the fact that there will be more to come, but we will have to pay for it, and pay dearly for it. NINETY-THREE PAGES to tell us to hand over a fistful of $$, as soooo many of us done to other shysters. This isn’t to say what is being offered isn’t useful, practical, doable, etc.. But for God’s sake, spare 93 pages of hype and hyberbole. This whole effort could have condensed itno a dozen or less pages.
Rich is already filthy rich (that’s rich), but I will have to think more than twice b4 I fatten his bank account at the expense of depleting mine furhter. I have a real difficulty
with helping wealthy folks become more so, while I am still going through all the pitfalls, trials and errors they went through. I will not play the same game when I fet onto my own playing field. The fact that there is much $$ to be made out there in the world is proof in and of itself that greed, no matter it is dressed to look, is still greed.
This is by no means an attempt to put anyone down only to build myself up, merely to iterate the fact that a rose by any another name is still a rose. Smell the roses, people.
Hi Rich
Thanks for the read. Many good points made. I reached page 92 and then did a Homer “Doh”. I attended a webinar about 12months ago all about this stuff and sure enough it’s here with a vengence. Also as a read I found it set out quite well and I thought the graphics were good too.
Best wishes
Vince
Nice read, but… Mind blowing??? Nope. Hype, hype, hype… Can’t you just WRITE your point instead of using 80-85 pages to tell me what you are GOING to write?
Anyway, I must say you got my attention. Well done. It wouldn’t happen if I didn’t see the report promoted at Yaro Starak’s blog, but still you got it (and even had me to post a comment).
However reports like this convince me once again that information should NOT be free. I am pissed of reading sales pitches in something that is supposed to be information.
Next time, if you really have something valuable to say, please charge for it. I’ll happily pay for a report which is not a PRE-SELL.
There were few valuable ideas in the doctrine. Most of them discussed and said by smarter guys on forums and blogs much earlier, but anyway, I appreciate the fact you’ve collected them and maybe said some of them better.
It would be so much nicer without the hype. But maybe you have a point to use it – clowns are much more popular. Like Paris Hilton.
Rich,
I’ve read all your manifestos and doctrines from your very first one to the latest. You’ve done it again! Somehow, you’ve articulated where I’ve sensed something isn’t right but couldn’t put a finger on it.
I’m relatively new to all this and have been working to get smart in both the technical aspects (understanding PPC, SEO, etc.) in order to get the “right†elements into my on-line presence, as well as the non-technical aspect such as how to identify your niche and brand yourself or your company.
And along the way, I’ve been reading many e-books, articles, blogs, and forum posts simply because when I started I didn’t know what I didn’t know. At this point I’d like to think I’ve at least progressed a little but I kept coming across so many comments from people as to how they aren’t successful and that such a low percentage of internet entrepreneurs (netrepreneurs?) ever make any money at all.
And at every step of my learning, there was always a nagging “something†in the back of my head that was telling me that “there’s something wrong with this pictureâ€. And each time, your next manifesto or doctrine would come out and the “That’s it!†bells would go off. And your latest doctrine is no exception.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m caught in the same paradox as probably many others are… how do you start and gain momentum while holding down a full-time job and not entirely alienating your family. But it seems that learning the best placement for adsense ads or how to identify the best keywords or understanding page layout and heatmaps or even topnotch copywriting isn’t the answer. But they ARE part of it nonetheless. At this point, I cannot afford to outsource much of anything and while I realize it isn’t the best way to do it, I end up doing the technical details myself. And I’m at the point that I seldom purchase any ebooks or courses any more because on further digging, many are variations on someone else’s ebook or course that I already have or just factor in the latest Google change that is available publicly anyway.
So the best thing about your latest Doctrine is that it does have some specific actionable things to work toward. It still doesn’t negate the need for some of the technical expertise though, and of course, how do you piggyback on someone else’s notoriety when you’re still an unknown.
Hi Rich,
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have known since my first exposure to you that you are a man of action and solutions. But little did I know! Less than an hour after posting, I had in hand a solution to the problem I was experiencing. This is an example to me of the way to conduct business and will be applied if I ever get mine off the ground. Unlike another example I just experienced. I received an offer to join a membership site, which shall remain nameless. I decided it had some things that might prove useful. I took the time to fill out the sign-up form but when I pushed the button I got a message, “I am sorry, you cannot use that e-mail address. Please select another e-mail and re-submit”. My Primary e-mail is not a free account but being in a remote area, the only one I could get (msn.com). Needless to say, I won’t be joining that site anytime soon, maybe in a lifetime or two.
Again Rich, thank you for efforts far beyond what could reasonably be expected. You rock!
Ken
Wow thank Rich. I got up at 4am this morning to ensure I had focused time with your report and I definately was not disappointed. To me all it all made sense and confirmed what I had already been feeling.
My brain was working overtime with ideas flying out at a million miles an hour.I guess the best way to start is to pick the niche, set up a high level plan but just start giving and contributing gradually working the various options you suggest.
The product will follow by the very art of actively giving and contributing as in doing so you will be building your product.
Thank you.
Alistair
Hi Rich,
Thank you a million and a billion times.
Your wisdom and strategies are #1 in the online world.
Great Job!
Paul
Hi Rich
I just completed reading the Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 and I must say that you’ve outdone yourself. I read all of the Manifestos and the first edition of the Attention Age Doctrine.
You have made me rethink my own marketing efforts. For example, I was strongly considering the use of direct mail but there are better and less expensive ways to market as you explained in your report.
I have a feeling the the Business Acceleration Program must be really valuable judging the quality of this report.
Keep up the great work!
Hi Rich,
Quite new to this business and an absolute ninny when it comes to the internet. Lots to learn. Found your Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 really interesting. Will need to learn about blogs. Is there a “blogs for dummies” site?
Thanks for being there to help.
Roma
Rich,
My first comment was on November 29th and I stated exactly how I felt. Then, along came later comments which really “shocked” me.
I just can’t understand some people. I’m sure they have reasons for their negative comments…I just can’t imagine what their reasons really are!
When my children were young I always told them that if they didn’t like something such as a food, don’t critique it, just don’t eat any of it again.
That’s perhaps why my feelings about the negative articles are as they are…if they don’t like what you have done, then they should just stop letting off steam, and not read anything from you again. That way they’ll have nothing to be critical about.
There are too many of us who genuinely appreciate your efforts and your guidance. As the old saying goes…”Just keep on keeping on” because we do appreciate your work.
Don
Hello Rich
I am new at web 2.0 and I have read your doctrine report and I just could not stop till I finish reading the report.
I have learned a lot.
Thank you very much for the report
Rich,
Thanks – great content – no hype. You really boiled things down: “When people trust you, they’ll give you their attention”. Amen!
I missed the reference when you said “A little later on I tell you how you can access a free tool…..”. I can’t find any mention of this free tool. I’m interested to know about it.
Thanks again,
Beth
Rich:
Thanks so much for this report. This has been very beneficial for me as a relative newbie. It makes so much sense and was encouraging for me to hear that honesty and integrity will win out in the age of social networking and web 2.0.
I’m beginning to implement these strategies already.
Great job and I’m looking forward to reading more from you.
Randy
Hi Rich,
I am a complete newbie to trying to get my piece of the pie on the internet. I have purchased several “How to” programs and have now read your report. At this point it is all quite overwhelming. Everyone says they are going to walk me through the process step by step, but this never happens. The thing I was most interested in was on page 89 and 90 when you talked about a 4 day event you had that showed how to absorb information quickly. (your bullet points) This is what I need. Is this info going to be available in your business acceleration home study course? I am determined to do whatever it takes to be successful, I just hope I can afford your program.
Thank You,
Jeff
I did read it to the end even if it took me 2 days :-), so it works, but then you know that, you also know it’s not for every one, and I agree it is very valueable, so I’m lucky to have been pointed to it, thanks…. Horst
Where can I find Attention Age Doctrine part 1? I misplaced mine. Thanks.
I’ve been trying to get my hands on Volume 1 for the past 2 months.
Come on Rich…
About a month before Volume 1 came out my PC crashed. So, I learnt how to live without a computer for 4 months and then when I got back into the internet connected world I discovered that Volume 1 had been released but could no longer be found…
Uuuuugh!!!!
Summary: How can we get our hands on Volume 1 of the Attention Age Doctrine?
Respectfully,
Gerard LeBlond
Ya,
I have the same corruption issue too. Rediculous if you are forced to an expensive upgrade of Acrobat just to read this. Frustrating! Customer focused?
when you read the doctrine part 2, and you come to this blog and you see that 220 of the comments are from people who loved it and there are 10 or so who don’t…. who do you think rich listens to. And really… Rich has coached practically every major guru in the field, he’s got testimonials from yahoo, and people who haven’t accomplished 10% of what he has like to come and insult. i think you should worry about yourself and keep dreaming that you’ll ever to get to the level Rich has always been at.
Hello Rich !
I have read all of your previous “works” and the Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 is the best of them all.
I was going to read a bit and then go to bed and read the next part tomorrow – well I couldn’t put it down – I read it all the way to the end.
As a complete “newbie”, I have been spinning my wheels for some months now trying to get started in Internet Marketing with very little success. I have suffered the paralysis by analysis problem and need to make the all-important first sale to get out of the starting blocks.
I hope that I can afford the home study course when it debuts on December 18.
Thanks for opening my eyes to where I am going wrong – now to find out how to correct all those blunders…
Thanks,
Peter H (NZ)
Rich,
It’s maddening for me and obviously a few others to read such wonderful posts, yet no matter how many times I, and a few others download it, we keep getting Bad Dictionary.
I emailed your staff at doctrine(at)strategicprofits.com and yes I use @. Two days ago, either my message for help got lost or they are overloaded with others like me writing. If you need someone whom can convert your document into a useable pdf, I gladly would convert it for you.
Best Regards
Hi Rich,
I read the other two reports and really enjoyed them, but this one knocked my socks off.
I had to print it out and wait for the weekend to have a second read, amazing stuff, practicing what you preach.
Adding a note to my blog.
Thank you.

Hey Rich,
Another high-five to you on your impeccable mind-blowing

As Always,

Hey Rich,
I took time out of my very busy schedule to read the report the day it was released, and some of the information was truly disturbing …
Luckily for ME, I’m already working mostly according to the principles you’re talking about, although I’m going to have a serious look at some of the stuff I’m doing that might not be up to even my own high standards.
Thanks for a great and eye-opening report!
Best regards,
Odinn Sorensen
Rich,
Outstanding. This has been a long time coming.
Years ago a man by the name of Wallace Ward predicted the rise of an “ostracism matrix”.
Essentially, shysters would swiftly be ostracized from the business world by a wiser public via the lightning fast spread of information.
And as we all know, bad publicity can cripple a business in an instant.
Unfortunately, Dr. Ward didn’t live to see it happen. But am fortunate enough to see it myself.
Bravo, Rich.
It’s time for the rise of the honest and value productive business person.
Thanks,
Daniel Iversen
I’ve just downloaded the report. I have always found your information extremely helpful. I really appreciate the extra time you have taken to include actionable strategies in the report.
Bruce
Hi Rich,
I really enjoyed reading this report as I enjoyed reading reading your previous reports. As usual It is a pleasure to actually get excellent content without any up-sells or “not to be missed OTO’s”.
I thought I was quite knowledgable in Social Networking but you just confirmed what I already knew that we learn new things on a daily basis. If we aren’t on a constant learning curve then we’re treading water or even worse sinking.
Thanks for one of the best reports I’ve read to date.

I didn’t have any idea that you could “out-do” the part one. .
you BLEW IT OUT of the water!! Tremendous! Awe inspired
work of pure GENIUS. Like I said before. .and I’ll say it again,
you are the undisputed BEST. Thank you for all you do for all

Rich,
Couldn’t have been better timing for this report to come out. Needless to say, you have had my attention since I plunked down 5k in 5 minutes after reading the Internet Business Manifesto. And I hadn’t even heard of you at that time. This is just the next step and it’s a big one.
I could see it coming and had begun to make changes of the new way, because I realized after promoting my last Performance Lifestyle Training with tons of emails and calls, and a long form sales letter http://www.PerformanceLifestyle.com/Iwantone, that my true intentions were not going to come through in this intrusive way. It’s all I knew how to do at the time.
What a difference a short time can make.
With this report, I can better deliver the VALUE I offer. I am just happy that I was already on this path before reading this report and am prepared to take full advantage of all your wisdom. Thanks again Rich.
We will be 2.0 in a matter of 10 days –
You have my attention!
JAM
I downloaded the document. And after a good hour I finished reading it (93 pages!!)
I guess I’ll be posting a full review on my blog but the main thing I’ll like to remark are:
- Like all the Rich Schefren material, great content for a free report indeed.
- I love the statistics about the traditional media responses. I already knew the “old school” ads aren’t working anymore (I spend thousand in promoting a business a few year ago) and seeing the actual data confirm the fact that online is the way to go today.
- In the near future, building communities will become a MUST have knowledge if you want to really serve a market.
- And the key is just that… “serve a market” not just sell them stuff. That’s how you create attention that’s how you create profit.
Great material from a great teacher.

I’m glad I was able to get a copy of your report. Thank you for sharing this information with us.
It confirms to me how important social interacting and establishing my credibility is online.
I am selling barbecue cookers from Meadow Creek Barbeque Equipment, including pig roasters, smoking pits, and smokers. There are lots of opportunities to promote this product line on Facebook and my own blog, etc.
Thanks again for inspiring me.
Lavern
Hi Rich,
I started to glance at it and a least an hour later I was still reading. Your ebook is 93 pages of great information. No wonder so many people got it. We all know you and respect you. I can’t believe I got this to read.
Thanks,
Ralph McDermott
Rich,
Great article and I only wish I had this information years sooner! I have realized that our current business model is redundant and the Doctrine information will allow me to start making the necessary changes if we are to survive the inevitable dead end that we were heading for (and just realized). On behalf of our 11 employees, their families and myself thank you for the AAD. You’re my Information Super Hero!
What is the next trend or evolution above and beyond viral marketing? Or is that going to be Attention Age Doctrine Part 3?
Hi Rich,
I have a background in psychology so the idea that we direct our attention is not new.
I hope you are right that it is quality and value that will gain attention. I keep trying to provide quality content that people can use immediately to improve their lives for every post I do.
I think there is probably more to the marketing story. I think this is probably because you do it naturally and so aren’t entirely aware that you are doing it. Those who are best at something (I think you are a born marketer or at least have developed to the stage of unconscious competence) aren’t necessarily the best teachers of it.
You’ve inspired me to write some free reports and think about how to market them. So it’s definitely got me doing something.
Hoping for success based on quality.
Thank you Rich…. for putting RELATIONSHIPS back in the Business World! Looking forward to learning more.
Hey Rich,
I look forward to reading this pdf, but I’ve tried downloading it 3x and all I get is blank pages.. Any assistance would be appreciated..

Any one know the link to access Volume 1 of the Attention Age Doctrine?
Hi Rich,
I was able to download everything easily, and I’m so grateful that I did. Grateful that you gave your time and energy to giving us such great teaching, and grateful that there are people like you in the world.
I know that your first object is to make money, and more power to your elbow, but generosity of spirit is the choice that you made, and thank you for that.
I now have a plan for making the blogs that I write for work, and can look forward to a prosperous future too.

Thanks for your terrific insights, Rich. Your current marketing is 90 degrees enhanced from the Dan Kennedy’s of the world, who, if you break down their approach, come across as:
“Just herd the people in the right ways, like cows or sheep, and they will buy from you.” Rather, your approach puts “buyers first” and regards their beliefs, thoughts and feelings as primary. From that respect and integrity comes sale after sale in due course.
Thank for persevering through the criciticism. And thanks also for the great graphic representations of many complex ideas in your publications over the past 1 1/2 years! You are the only “guru” who has taken time to break the relationships down and show them graphically.
Best regards,

Rich,
I appreciate all the hard-work and effort that goes into your free, high-value informational reports for all online marketers to have access to, use and apply in their business-building efforts.
I look forward to your next offering and hope it can lead me to higher levels of online success.
Best of luck to you!
Good health, good fortune and have a safe and happy holiday season!!!
I appreciate the time you took to not only write this, but the energy in which you write it.
I am in-process of revamping my business philosophy, and this report came at an appropriate time for me. I agree 100% with what you have said, and have believed it for some time now myself. I always lacked a clear way of actually describing AND understanding it, and you did it perfectly.
Thanks.
I’ve been following Jay Abraham for over a decade and finanlly joined his program and have been inundated with material and calls all extremely valuable and worth the investment. I was impressed greatly with Rich Schefren’s Manifesto, but Doctrine2 is dramatically updated and an excellent example of Jay Abraham’s direction and influence. I don’t know when I’ll be able to afford it, but when I do what success gets me there will be because I have applied knowingly or unknowingly what insights Rich has documented.
What a ripper of a report, Rich!
You certainly ‘walk-the-talk’ when it comes to audience engagement :-)
May the money-gods smile on you for the Business Acceleration Program launch – just around the corner….
Fantastic could not stop reading sent it on to all i know, you have moved me to a different level
Thank you so much i will return your generosity one day soon

RICH,
Greetings from rural Australia.
Yes, Rich, you’ve made a positive impact on my business twice.
First was the Final Chapter of the Internet Business Manifesto. Your simple statement that all business is built on relationships completely changed my attitude to approaching new people to grow my business.
You see, I’m a natural at customer service.
Once someone makes an enquiry to buy from me, I treat them as a friend and answer all their questions promptly, before anyone else in business does. I have an extraordinarily high conversion rate of enquiries to sales.
And once they buy from me, I treat them as family. I keep up with their lives, their children, spouses, partners, grandchildren.
Yes, I also have a very high customer retention rate. I have customers on my database who have been buying from me since 1994. I also have an international business because of the internet.
My downfall is new business. Ringing someone cold concerns me. I’m too conscious that I might be intruding in their day; they may not want to hear from me; all the baggage that comes with being hesitant. Cold calling is not my comfort zone.
Your Internet Business Manifesto changed that attitude and my approach. I now offer help or a solution first to whoever I’m contacting. To build a relationship before expecting a sale is the right way for me to do business.
The difference is amazing. I’m so relaxed when making my phone calls for appointments, I have a 95% appointment rate. My meetings are so successful, I’m invited back 100% of the time for further discussions as to how my products can help their organisation grow. My final conversion rate is 80%. I accept I can’t help everybody, or perhaps need more time to hone my skills to improve that conversion rate.
After reading your Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 (I never saw Part 1), I sat down with Mindjet and, in detail, mapped out my strategy for enhancing my company’s profile within Australia and selected countries overseas by forming solid, ethical relationships. Relationships built on trust and common goals. Relationships that will give me an opportunity to help because that’s where I get my greatest rewards, helping others. That ’s my comfort zone.
I also mapped out segments in which I already have a great deal of expertise, and introduced segments in which I’d like to acquire expertise. So that’s introduced a welcoming challenge to my business.
I’ve always thought treating people with respect counts in business. My instinct tells me that’s why my customers stay with me for years.
But everything I read tells me to be sharp, edgy, a hard closer, grab the business and run before the ‘punter’ has a chance to change their mind. That every time I see someone, I should be closing and bringing in sales.
Your Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 has convinced me even more that my approach is right.
Your enthusiasm propelled me into making my plan of action. I’ve already implemented the first stage of my plan and am in contact with organisations that want to see me. Plus, I’ve begun my research into the segments I want to be an even better expert in.
So, Rich, many thanks for the inspiration, motivation and push to be the best I can be. For reinforcing within me that I am travelling the right road. That business growth is a constant work in progress and the strong, solid relationships I build are the ones that lead to long term success.
Best wishes for all your future endeavours.
Take care,

Hi Mr. Schefren you are definitely right in the sense that quality is what matters. However, you may not have thought about it this way, quantity matters not at all, for our source I-S already everything and everywhere. No need to expand, grow, no need for process, evolution. All is here now and AT HAND to be used for generation, for all is already created (“it is finished”).
Have said it before and say it here again: It is time for SPIRITUAL Entrepreneurship to go mainstream.
Granted, attention is a factor. However, attention turned awareness, or understanding, as well as application of wisdom are required to exert real, vertical power of ONE alone (all one).
The meaning to you, the individual, is that you need no one else for your tree to grow to full statue. This will give you peace. Why? Theocracy – the highest, most perfect abstract idea supersedes all else
The present was, is PRE-SENT by a Grand Director, who began His movie AFTER His end was determined. One that remains a Mystery to day.
Isn’t the full tree conceptualized in the seed, before it germinates? Doesn’t it mean it began in the crown? Isn’t the size of the grown tree 1,000,000 “%” of that seed? Does a pine tree do anything to add to its size? Does it struggle to attract birds? Let alone following other pine trees to eventually become an oak tree…
My point is that spiritual entrepreneurship, following the greatest entrepreneur of all time, who NEVER SELLS, who always knows what to say to whom, and who deals with every messenger and message for the benefit of OVERCOMING what still needs work.
I am referring to divine shortcuts that acknowledge NO POWER of “CAUSATION” in the physical realm earth, and that can supersede anything with higher perfection, including being freed from jail, from abuse and anything else.
Much love & success to you.
Hi Rich,
Thank you very much for all of your helpful info. I hope to meet you in the future.
Thanks again,
Tad
Rich,
Great stuff.
Overwhelmed with the passion at which this was written and how closely it lined up with what I sincerely believe in.
As a newbie to the online marketing game I found Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 to be most informative, intellectual but extremely simple to understand, and the most current information I have found so far. I THANK YOU!!
Rich,
You have nailed it. One word, sir:
Integrity.
Regards,
Cheri
The timing for your information is ideal. And the information in the Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 is powerful! You have shown anyone that has ambition and desire a way to go after their dreams and actually obtain them! Thank you for providing this information. It’s been invigorating to say the least!
Hi Rich,
Can you make another version of Doctrine2?
So far I’m not able to read it.
My comp cannot integrate with Acrobatv7.0
Acrobat6.0 will be fine.
Thanks.
Oli,
Have you tried the newest free Acrobat reader? For Windows XP go to:

There is a link there for other platforms.

Rich,
Wow! I was up until the wee hours of the morning reading the report and making notes.
Even before I finished the report, (after reading only halfway) I gave the sales staff at one company I consult with a copy.
My assistant with through several reams of paper to get out all the copies!
Man, I see why you are called the “Gurus Guru”. Your clear-headed thinking and straight-forward approach to writing made this read fast & easy.
I look forward to continued mentoring by you when I attend the “Acceleration” events.
Best wishes & much more success in the “Attention Age”.

Rich,as I read your report my present project kept coming to mind. How could I do a great job by following your advice? The report is “How To Win Your Workers’ Compensation Case” and for a worker who is hurt and out of work its very hard to be doing your own case. A lawyer is not needed. I don’t give legal advice but guide the reader every step and have won all my cases including two EEOC cases. I’m passionate about taking a talent I have and helping those in need. It can be a tough process. So how can I best use what you have written to reach people who need this info.? I want to give some info for free and my email for those who might be in the middle of a mess and need my help asap. __How do you suggest I proceed? I know you read every post. And I would be most appreciative of your thought. You have surely written a piece to be proud of. And I hope all the gurus listen. For the rest of us and newbies its invaluable. I can best express it by a humble “Thank You”. Sincerely,Gail S. Goodman
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This has been an eye-opener for me, although it took me a lot longer than 90 minutes to read it. That is something I would really like to know–how to read, listen to and distill the most important information in the least amount of time. I’m new to internet marketing and only beginning to develop a strategy for marketing online, so this is very timely for me.
Solid Work. I’ve recommended it to several friends.
Rich,
Impressive! I, like many others, have become burned out on offers for free reports, but I have to admit I really enjoyed reading Attention Age Doctrine Part 2. It has almost gotten to the point where I dread my Inbox – you are dead-on about the information overload, lack of free attention and too much insincerity and marketing hype everywhere you turn today. I have found it an overwhelming challenge to try to keep my priorities straight or to even know where to focus my attention. Your Attention Age Doctine Part 2 really hit nailed it for me and I know it will lead me in the right direction when it comes to any marketing I do on the internet from now on.
Great Info – I’m passing this info on to all my customers and friends trying to make it big online.
i read straight through the report and plan to read through it again. i Stumbled it.
Rich,
Fascinating and insightful – will be a tall order to implement….
Thanks,
Cathy
I am a pensioner with a large Leather Related site. I read you excellent report & realised that you had explained what I was already doing without realising it. I give free listings & write ups to all leather related sites, I answer all emails & questions, I give away e-books, I do sell Leather Instruction Manuals (World Wide) but I also offer free help to all Manual purchasers. So what am I doing wrong? I only manage to supliment my pension. Not that it matters that much as I am passing on my Knowledge & Skills & for me that is all that matters. Which is what you are also doing keep up the good work.
Regards Francis Burdett-Mills (Chartered) MCIPD
Thanks Rich,
I got some great idear’s about how to move forward in my business from reading your report.
Thank you for sharing
Tim
Nice job…you kept my attention until the end. Upon reflection you brought together a lot of details in a cohesive manner that had me saying…yep, he is right on the money. Many things I have had random thoughts about came into focus as I read through your writings. I recall my daughter suggesting that my business should be on MySpace and FaceBook just a couple weeks ago.
I’m just a little homegrown, hometown service and brick and mortar retail business, learning how to expand online. I’ve been a target of a lot of these type of marketing programs, and have bought into a few. So far, I have learned little that I had not already learned reading business books and from personal experience. I have been pretty dissapointed that the hype doesn’t deliver in the end. I certainly see value in what you are talking about, but frankly don’t see that there is concrete useable stuff for my business. I will continue with your program for a while yet – still hopeful (ah, the emotional purchase :) ).

Hey Rich,
Whether you are using software or writing the article or report yourself, DON’T RELY on any type of editing or spell-checking software to do all the work for you!
Read each article Word-For-Word after you’ve finished, to make sure it is grammatically correct.
With NO Typos or Spelling Errors… at least correct the blatant errors, fair enough?
Whether YOUR NAME is on the article or it provides a link to your website, you can bet YOUR REPUTATION is wrapped up in the content.
GUARD IT…

rich, or is it Rich?
I’m sorry, you even puncuated YOUR OWN NAME WRONG right off the bat, on page 2 of your 93 page report… it’s in the last bullet at the bottom of the page…
I’m sure the ’smell-checker’ said it was okay, though… ha…
Okay Rich, I am a fan of yours, part of your original online BGS (Business Growth System) $400 a month coaching club last year.
Great content.
Yes, we all make typos.
I recently e-mailed new author Jaime Luchuck, the ultimate winner of Joel Comm’s Next Internet Millionaire (NIM) online competition.
Over 20 typos in her First Edition hard back Best Seller about her wild ride on the show.
They will all be corrected in her next printing…
But she didn’t stress how she was such a perfectionist, and how she ’slaved’ over her manuscript word-by-word, around the clock, for months.
Rich, your content was great!
The grammar checking by you and your world-class staff was atrocious!
There were so many errors and mis-spells, I just quit marking them after awhile…
A bit of advice from one of your Educated Elders… Quit highlighting to me (us) what a perfectionist you are, and I won’t hold you to such standards.
Rich, I have grown accustomed to poor grammar these days… :-(
I just expected better from you and your staff, okay?
And lose the Love Affair with the hideous partial-mirrored graphics, will ya?
That said, the content is what’s really important, anyway…
So Rich, excellent report!
Tell our mutual good friends, Mike and Tom in Long Island, that I gave you a little hell… they’ll get a chuckle, I’m sure…
Richard, thanks again for the great content of your report.
I sincerely mean it…

Hi Rich,
I thoroughly enjoyed your report; as so much of it rang true.
I’ve been an internet info “sponge” for the last couple of months trying to learn the ropes of running an online business, and the project is quite overwhelming. If one didn’t have ADD before taking on an internet education, they sure would after about a week.
My biggest hurdle at this point seems to be figuring out what my passion is. I seem to be stuck in the discovery process, but can’t wait to figure this part out so I can implement some of your ideas!
More how-to details and specific examples would be great, as I find them to be the most inspiring and help with the idea generating processes.
Thanks for a teriffic read.
Marianne
Hello Marianne,
Rich highlighted in his report that you must pick an area that you are willing to spend a good portion of the remainder of your life pursuing, in order to become an expert/Maven.
Do you have that kind of passion for something?
Look for the Big One…
For me it was, and is, Health.
Twent-five years ago, it made me return to college for the 3rd time, and ultimately led to becoming a successful and famous doctor in the offline world.
Now, I’m taking on this On-Line challenge, just like you Marianne!
Damn, it’s hard work and perseverance…
Double Damn…
Hey Carrie Anne, what’s your name now, can anybody play?…
( lyrics from the great 1967 Hollies’ song, ‘Carrie Anne’ :-) The song was really about pop star Marianne Faithful, they just changed the song name to not be so obvious.
Well, Marianne, there’s your rock ‘n roll trivia for the day!
Okay, back to business…
Secondly, choose something that people are willing to pay good money for… that is, if you are an expert in the field.
For example, good luck with ‘How to Crochet’, or ‘How to Watch Football and Drink Beer on Sunday”, even if you love to do these things… ha, ha…
Third… If you aren’t willing to work like a fanatic for many years to learn the ropes, then your hope for any real success is slim to none.
I know… I’ve made over $4 million dollars as a practicing doctor, and it’s a battle, every day.
But a battle that I enjoy competing in, even two decades later.
Rich says he doesn’t like to work hard.
That is an outright lie!
How many multi-millionaires do you know that work all night and day without a shower to complete a Free Report?
The take it easy lifestyle?
All the Truly Successful I see are passionate maniacs chasing their next Big Score.
And when they (or we) succeed, we all win with a great new product or service.
So Marianne, let me, and us know if this has helped you.
What is your core Power Passion?
Your Friend,
Dr. Michael Quadlander

Well… that was quite an ego boost. I’m on the verge of launching a new concept, strategy & paradigm in my niche… As I started reading the AA2, I found that I already came up with, and about to deploy 70% of what Rich has advised.
So I sure as hell didn’t disagree with any of it. The other 30% that was new to me were primarily 2 things
1) Powerful perspectives, insights as to the gravity of the situation, and just how real it is.
2) the leverage available for traffic generation with Web2.0
And Rich… I want to thank you personaly for providing such high value content, and clarifiyng certain things that I believed to be true.
Hi Rich,
Downloaded your Attention Age Doctrine report, and absorbed it in one sitting, wow powerful stuff, think I need to read it again.
Thanks Luke
Rich, this is terrific stuff, dynamite in fact. But here’s the concern I have.
People like yourself have pioneered so much in this field, because that’s the quality of entrepeneur that you are.
Look at most of the top people in internet marketing and they tend to have had a very solid business background prior to entering the online arena. And it is the skill, discipline and insight they already have, which when adapted to these new challenges helps put them on top.
What your Attention Age Doctrine 2 spells out all so clearly is the need to become an expert, become an authority, be the ‘go to’ guy. And I truly believe you are right.
But how many experts, authorities and ‘go to guys’ can you have in any specific niche. In the final reckoning, it’s going to come down to not only knowledge, know how and communication skills, but personality, self confidence and all those other interior values that sift the winners from the losers no matter what game field we’re playing on.
I’m as certain as I can be that the breakthrough information and procedures you are offering will potentially benefit everyone, who takes the time to study and apply them, but will we see the rise of a new tide of entrepeneurs thanks to this?
I hope so and I’m sure that this is what will give you greatest satisfaction, but to do so people will need to work hard on themselves as well.
Hi Rich,
December is my ‘crazy’ month where my clients all want something done before Xmas and the workload is crazy, but appreciated. Then the whistle blows for Xmas and January is quite a leisurely start to the next year.
I’m grateful for the level and quality of business we now have online but need to focus on “what” we focus on next year and exactly “how”
Rich, your Doctrine was perfect in both content and timing for me to think on the “what” and hopefully the toolkit will provide the meat for the “how”
Thanks for the work you put in to this and look forward to hearing more.
Cheers
Steve Wroblewski
Philippines
Michael,
Thanks so much for your input and your story.
I do realize, as Rich pointed out, that you have to find that big passion in order to build a great business, and that is precisely why I have been stalling in getting started.
I so admire people like you, and others that have been posting, who obviously know exactly where you belong. If you’ve found your niche and love it, you have such a better chance at building a great business.
Then there are those of us who are like little bees who have to pollinate all the flowers. I’ve always had lots of interests and they’re all over the map. I have incredible focus until I “solve the puzzle” then for some inexplicable reason, burn out and move on to something else. It’s kind of an annoying characteristic, actually.
BUT–I have decided that instead of fighting the fact that I have about 20 sub-passions instead of one big one, I have an idea for my first project that would be perfect for other “passion deficit” newbies like myself.
OR–perhaps I’ll just figure on having 5 little businesses instead of one big one. (I’m tired already).
Thanks also to all that have included info about yourselves. It’s obvious that Rich’s report has inspired us to share and it’s been fun reading your thoughts and plans.
Marianne,
Michael and Steve are right; passion will lead to success. Go to: http://www.box.net/shared/static/8stbp3hbs8.doc
to download a small Word doc that may help you ID some passions you have overlooked. Look for commonalities between areas you list. Then do market research – keyword research and blog research to determine which of your passions may have a market.
Great success to you!
Lew
In reply to the person who earlier left a comment stating how this helped those of us ‘Flitting’, not quite knowing where we’re going, or what niche` to focus on.
This is an excerpt from ‘Visions Of The Future Past’.
Maybe it helps?
Hope so.
Wait And See.
In this brightly coloured, animated, cartoon world of fun.
I see a brightly coloured bud, aiming for the sun.
I am a busy bee, waiting to see,
whether there is anything in this bud for me.
How long will I have to wait, to know the secret that’s within?
Is there something I can’t know, beneath the outer skin ?
I’ve waited an eternity, and slowly it unwraps.
Can I see a gift for me ?
No, I still can’t see.
Do I fly away now ? I can’t afford to stay.
The other bees are moving on, making honey from the sun.
Will my Queen be angry, if I decide to wait
and learn the secret of this bud ?
A hard decision to contemplate.
I think I’ll stay, and try to find
the secret of this fine buds mind.
Pete Moring.
Marianne,
I had (still have) the same problem that TOO many things excite and inspire me and you can too little of everything and get nothing done properly
In Malaysia I had the blessing of a mentor, a Chinese “guru” in his 60’s (I was mid 30’s) who left college as a Rhodes scholar in the UK to start the entire Electronics Engineering faculty of the main college in Malaysia
Bored with academia he started a company with 12 staff making power supplies that went on to be Toshiba’s main partner, 2000 staff, huge money
I could spend an hour at dinner with him rambling about my problem to solve and then he would smile, hold up his hand, and tell me in one sentence what to do
His wisdom I miss this days…
On this subject he observed me and seriously berated me.
He told me you never cut down a big tree landing your axe everywhere – it must be in the one spot each time
I remember his words:
“We Chinese believe you must cut deep – before you cut wide”
or
Establish one product / service TOTALLY in one market – then expand wider on that platform
I still get distracted with all the exciting opportunities we face today – then I remember his words…
Hope they mean the same to you in some way
Wishing you success
Cheers
Steve
Thanks for this wisdom, on behalf of all of us.
Lew
Got it and went through it immediately. As someone relatively new to all of this I found this read to be far less hyped and high pressure than most everything else that I have seen so far. It also clicked (no pun intended :-) ) with me and how I like to do business and how I like to have people work with me when trying to get me to buy….
I wonder how this works when dealing with older populations that one is marketing to? They just aren’t online as much or as social as much online…..
Anyways – thank you for this and now to work on an action plan….
I was told about Attention Age Doctrine 2 in a instant messenger chat that was actually a mistake. Someone saw my name and thought I might be someone else. As we talked, we found out that we have both gone thru the “Internet Marketing” jungle.
I told him that I had given up on all the junk that is out there as it seemed to be inbred ideas… market to internet marketers to market to internet marketers and so on.
But AAD2 made me rethink my business relationships and what I need to do. I recently got a new client that just wasn’t working out, and after reading AAD2 I realized a lot of reasons why including I wasn’t doing what I wanted to do. It was becoming work… I not only had to hand hold and sell the client, but I started to not believe in what he was selling.
I felt that I needed to stay with the client because I seriously need the income, but AAD2 showed me that there are better ways.
Thanks !
What an eye opening report and so very logical at the same time. Just the info in this report should increase your business quite dramatically.
Awsome report…
Confirmed many of the ideas I have had about the way things are done, I guess I paid too much attention to those I believed to be experts…
Looking forward to learning more and building my business based on principles that just feel right…
Rich Schefren….I watched you catapult up the ladder. When I first heard about you I thought it was another youngster who had something ‘different’, ‘trendy’ to say that went against the grain of the ‘guru’s’……
I was on your mailing list when Strategic Profits began. I was given the opportunity to be at that great seminar but alas could not….
I have just read this report and you are definitely a MAVEN….
I never quite got the hang of the old internet marketing because something just did not seem right about it. Get something for free, get bombarded with emails for something else, even when I bought stuff I kept getting emails telling me how much I needed this ’stuff’ I had just bought….good grief it just went on and on!!!!
This report is like a breath of fresh air blowing in a stream of sanity….
Wish I could afford the upcoming product but alas….
Thanks for this great report that I will be reading and rereading for some time.
Doug
Nice report, but not helpfull to those of us who are clueless on how to start.Seems better suited for those who are are ready doing well in the marketing business like most of your clients. You kind of leave us that are broke and clueless out in the cold to fend for ourselves like most of the other big time marketers.well Happy Holidays to you Rich, maybe in the holiday spirit you can make something the will help the poor and clueless instead of the people who already have the big bucks, but of course then you couldnt charge those huge fees lol.any way thanks and t/c
I am half way through the Doctrine and have to say it is just what the doctor ordered. I am a new company and need all the help I can get to grab my market share.
I still have a lot of questions but this report has opened my eyes to the next steps I must make to go from no where to where I want to be in the next few years.
Thank you Rich for your gift, your talents and your abilities.

It’s true, a flood of our visitors come from Web 2.0 sources, including forums that have deep threads that usually bash our site, and what we do :)
However, we keep true to our cause and in the long run, any attention (good/bad), causes attention to our site.
Thus gaining the attention, leads people to us that could use our site’s structure to help them out!

RE: Bad Encription Dictionary
After days of reading posts, downloading it 6 times, each failed to open, I decided to uninstall adobe reader and install 7 fresh, not 8 given someone report fail.
I can now READ it. YES. I love how I persist.
Thanks for this gift.

Hey Rich, you know I would be a billionaire if I had fraction of your expertise. I thought you were perfect in the beginning but you get better every one of these you write. I am so glad you are my friend.

Nice job, Rich. Lots of good ideas that helped me gain a better understanding of the trends overtaking our business — and how to deal with them profitably.
You’ve done it again Rich! I appreciate that you’re always keeping on top of the latest trends and pointing me to what’s next in web marketing. I found the report very useful and am making several broad changes in my business based on your suggestions. I am finally convinced to narrow my niche much more specifically. I have identified the most influential people and bloggers in my industry and I’m going to get to know them better.
I have posted a few times at my blog about your report and recommended it to others:

Rich,
I found your report very enlightening and was very well written. I hope that I am able to afford your system when it releases. I am sure that it is not going to be cheap. Very well done.
All i have to say is wow!
now i understand how you came to command so much attention by using what i consider ‘reverse’ marketing
concepts.
ADD2 has blown me away, i was up until 2am reading it,
and had to put it away to get some sleep.
as a webdesigner i got a lot of web 2.0 site ideas that i
will be working on going forward – to grab attention by sorting
all this info(pleasure) and also to protect those that wish to be protected from all this info(pain)
thanks rich you’re the best.
and those case studies with the large companies really
drove the message home for me – i’m happy that i put
integrity above all else when it comes to marketing and business and life in general.
Interesting.
As someone who grew up working through undiagnosed “Attention Deficit Disorder” (as called by the folks who don’t have it–most of us with it call it normal), and as a professional editor/writer (for the past 25+ years), as a former public school teacher, and as someone who has ventured into sales and entrepreneurial endeavors occasionally, I have many reasons why your Attention Age Doctrine eBooks caught my attention–even if briefly.
I’ve worked mostly in the high-tech world as a technical editor/writer–but also have worked as a magazine and newspaper writer and photographer. As such, I realize that I must hold a reader’s attention to get my point across. What gets their attention? –Something dramatic. Something controversial. Something hilarious. Something that builds on feelings and generates a gut reaction. Something that generates a “one-ness” or empathy with the reader or recipient of the information.
Much of this is explained in Joe Vitale’s books on “Hypnotic Writing”–you wrote your two Attention Age Doctrine books using that writing style. I’ve studied this type of writing for many reasons–namely because I’m now working on generating websites (for myself and for others) that must get other folks’ attention. I think I’ve started to use methods you’ve described to “drive” traffic to and from my “editordave” Linked In networking site and to and from my “editsbydave” MySpace site/blog as well as to my Squidoo Sites “mini-sites”. I’m using these three venues as practice for testing your Attention Age Doctrine ideas (and Joe Vitale’s “Hypnotic Writing” ideas) in preparation for launching my own information products.
Your Attention Age Doctrine eBooks did have those “nuggets” of great information… however, I found that I had to read the things two or three times to find and refine the “nuggets”. My thought is that you might use the “hypnotic” writing in your sales material, but once you have folks at the meat or the nuggets of your offering, you might want to eliminate what could be perceived as “hype” and just explain the nuggets with more concrete examples. But then, I’m not the one that’s making bunches of bucks with my websites–since you are obviously doing that and it’s working for you, there’s most likely no need to change. No matter, your eBooks are fun reads–easily flowing and well thought out. (Like sitting in a coffee-shop and visiting with you.)
I’d be curious how you would apply some of these techniques for “brick-and-mortar” business establishments as well as for online businesses.
In our city alone, the formerly daily local newspaper has announced and reduced publishing a paper newspaper to only three days a week. The paper tells folks to “go online” to read local news. I think this is a bad move… but hey, it’s their business, eh? (If I have to go “online” to read the news, I’d rather use the MSN, CNN, or Comcast newsfeeds. Local news of any importance I can usually pick up and hear at the local coffee shop.)
Our local car dealerships, for instance, average more than $100,000 per MONTH spent on advertising (including Television, Radio, Newspaper, Flyers, and so on). They still subscribe to the YELLING AT CUSTOMERS WITH HYPE method of bringing folks to their business. I wonder how they could change this to fit the Web2.0 paradigm. I doubt they’d do it, however. Of all businesses, I believe Insurance and Car Sales are still about the most entrenched in the “traditional” and “obsolete” methods. They still believe in what you mentioned as the “Sell the Sizzle–Not the Steak” methodology. They are deep into “Cold Calling” –Frank Rumbauskas has a great book on how to quit this idiotic and detrimental pasttime. Also, it would be good for these businesses to wake up and read many of Seth Godin’s books–”Permission Marketing” also comes to mind.
A friend at a local Used and Rare Bookstore also complained to me that she felt that her advertising in the local newspaper didn’t produce “results” even when it was a daily… and now, she doesn’t advertise at all… (I mention her in my Squidoo lenses and in my blog once in a while–because I like getting my books from her–and I’ve been trying to convince her to get a MySpace going and to have a blog )
Sorry for the long tome… (I *did* say I was a *writer*, right?) —
Overall, I think that would you have produced in your two Attention Age Doctrine eBooks is good stuff –and I’m looking forward to seeing more great ideas from you.
Best regards,
Dave (Aka “EditorDave”)

Hi Rich,
The Attention Age Doctrine 2 is hands down the best Report I have ever read. It was like you wrote the doctrine 2 just for myself and the team of individuals I am working with. Everything within the report to your intentions of marketing with the report. Every idea that I had rolling around in my head you managed to lay out and put into perspective.
You give GREAT value!
Thanks again,
Ken
RICH,
Greetings from rural Australia.
I’ve finally found the time to read your posts to date, the number right now is 318 responses, and am intrigued at the mixture of opinions.
To the criticisms, perhaps these are people who just like to find fault. When I worked for a large university in their masters and doctorate program, the Dean of the School of Business observed that the more non-constructive criticisms a person made, the less likely they were to be successful in business. And he prided himself on his accuracy in predictions.
They’ve also missed an important piece of your information, Rich. When posting on the internet, be careful what you say because everything you say is recorded forever, never to be erased.
When reading the Attention Age Doctrine, Part 2, I also expected to see a sales offer at the end. No one, and I mean no one, does EVERYTHING for free.
That aside, the content contains many refreshing insights into how to do business on a more compassionate level than ever before.
People haven’t changed emotionally since Adam and Eve. We all want love, respect, empathy, care, and above all, want to be recognised as a valued individual.
This is why people are railing so much against the anonymity thrust upon them by super size retailers, employers, government and most large institutions like banks, insurance companies, utilities and most of all, voice mail.
And many businesses on the internet. Try and get a name, address and telephone number from an average Contact Us page. Most communication is email only. And you pray they respond.
Mike Hayes asks if this doctrine will bring in a new tide of entrepreneurs. I doubt it. Because this doctrine requires a complete change in attitude towards your customers/clients. This attitude implies you love your customers/clients.
Which many businesses don’t. There’s still the ‘all’s fair in love, war and business’ attitude. When the crunch comes, the customer/client loses. There’s no love implied in the transaction. Only money.
Mike also asks if there will be too many ‘go to guys’? Perhaps, but the winner will be the ‘go to guy’ who gives the most value. It will be the person who truly loves being helpful with no strings attached. That ‘go to guy’ will reap the benefits of new business referrals and life long customers/clients within their niche.
Will I be paying you, Rich, for your Business Acceleration Course? No. Because I can figure out what I need to do by reading your document and putting together what I’ve already learned from Jay Conrad Levinson, Chet Holmes, Jay Abraham and now you.
And this is something else I’ve observed in these posts. A number of people want a summary of bulleted points as to what to do next.
It’s so much better to read your document and spend the time to figure it out for yourself. You learn so much more. Being spoon fed makes you continuously dependent on someone else for your success.
If you’re new to the internet, there’s a wealth of free information and plenty of books to learn from.
Pick and choose carefully what online courses you pay for. They’re not always as good as they’re presented. Unfortunately, you don’t find that out until you’ve paid your money and then been disappointed.
The cheaper the course, the more unlikely it will contain any information that’s useful to you.
Ask yourself this. Why would a ‘guru’ who purports to be an expert sell a course for $19, $29 or $47? Because you can afford it. And there are so many who will pay $47 and then not complain when it doesn’t deliver the value.
What are they really selling for their $19, $29 or $47? Hope to get rich quick! It’s the quickest and easiest sale to make.
The number of positive posts far exceed the negative posts. I think a newcomer to the industry, and to you, Rich, should read the negative posts with a grain of salt and ask themselves what the person posting is trying to achieve. Have they learned something constructive and useful from this post?
We are all different with different thought patterns, emotions and drives. We interpret information differently and respond in our own unique way to stimuli around us. Your personality and drive is what makes every business different. And it’s why every business has a chance to be immensely successful, even when faced with massive competition.
If your personality is magnetic within your niche, your knowledge is solid, your product/service top drawer, your customer/client relations unbeatable and people prefer to do business with you more than your competitors, you’ll always be the ‘go to guy’ that people queue up to see. Even if you’re more expensive than other businesses.
I hope readers take what they can of your information and follow their sun. Perhaps the criticism directed at you is the fact you’re not offering ‘get rich quick’ solutions, but long term success founded on hard work and dogged determination.
A young man told me this was told to him by his mother when he was growing up. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary. It’s worth remembering.
Best wishes to everyone for a very successful future. And may we see many of you up there in ‘Maven Land’.
Take care,

Hi Carol,

Rich,
Which are the tools to absorb more info in less time?
Hey Rich
I was tired when I decided to read pt2. Needless to say I was
on the edge of my seat at the eyepopping content. I look forward to putting this “stuff” into place.
Thanks!
Gods Blessings, Anthony
Thanks Rich,
Excellent report! I really appreciate it. You have a way of tying things together and presenting them that brings clarity to the chaos. Its really helped me look at the big picture. I’m just starting out and this couldn’t have come at a better time.
Confirmation for what I do
I applaud you Rich,
I’ve tried and failed more than I want to admit.
The Internet Marketing thing is starting to make some sense at last thanks to a starter program that shares how to use free advertising and new friends on my team (and in my downline) sharing valuable experience (like The Attention Age Doctrine Two: WEB MARKETING 2.0.
Arth’s links is my “online persona†if you will. I nearly gave up and shut the site down in September 2007. Now perhaps, 2008 will be the year I finally start to earn.
I’ve always had the basic belief that if the information and links to resources were of enough value and help to others that eventually, that trust would bring profit.
I learned to put Search Engine Optimization on the back burner while using other forms of no cost, (not free in terms of time and effort) advertising resources while tracking my efforts.
The site just adopted the theme of “Learning, Growing & Earningâ€.
The plan is to provide quality information and resources for Internet Marketers in general (especially no and low cost alternatives that work) and things like computer tips (from a very reliable source) for everyone.
It’s good to know that someone with your success and experience feels the same about providing quality without the “hard sell†that I do.
It’s important that people trying to earn money on the Internet realize that integrity above all else is the key to success.
Rich puts it so well in this eBook.
The power of “word of mouth†now becoming such a huge force in our lives makes providing QUALITY resources and information so very important for sustained growth.
“Word of mouth†is worth more to make or break our efforts than all the money in the world.
This eBook is very encouraging to those of us trying to DO GOOD, but a WARNING to those operating on GREED alone.
Thank you Rich for your integrity!

Thanks for the valuable info, Rich. Many of us saw lots of this coming but you’ve put it all together with some “what to do’s.”
I look forward to lots of those time-saving accelerators you mentioned.

Hi Rich,
Really great info [although I couldn't find Madonna's phone number in the small print :>)]
If you’re not careful we could end up with a ’sleaze-less’ internet, which should qualify you for an instant humanitarian award.
I’m hoping to use your wisdom to build a community of rain makers who can live a life without limits.
Perhaps the most valuable [to me] thing you said was ‘that our results come from what we are BEING not from what we are DOING.’

Ken Graydon
Rich,
Thank you for the Doctrine Part 2. How I wish I had read Part 1. Anyway, starting today, I will be making some improvements on the way we are dealing with our customers based on the Doctrine.
Thanks again.
Thanks Rich,

great. But have you ever thought about
breaking it up
into segments. It’s really slows down the
computer (even
the HTML).

Hey Rich,
Your words really hit to the heart of what’s happening on the internet. I read your report and kept nodding my head in agreement, and applaud you for it’s content.
With the amount of information out there it’s encouraging to find someone who is transparent and isn’t scared of sharing their knowledge to benefit others.
Thanks for the heads up! There’s just not enough hours in the day to keep up with it all – but thanks to you at least I have a chance.
I posted a comment earlier, subscribed to the comment feed and has been reading all the comments posted on this blog.
It has been a great experience to learn not only from the ‘Attention Age’ doctrine but the comments posted as well. In my earlier review I said on my Internet Marketing blog:
I am sure it would be a great boost to anyone’s business learning from a Master Craftsmen with a generous heart such as Rich Schefren. If I take a big, leak proof container to draw water from this well of knowledge and if I use that water to cook my own recipe, I am sure to enjoy the taste of health, wealth and happiness. The secret to success is buried in the two “ifs†and the other ingredients with which I cook. :)
I am more convinced of my own beliefs now after reading all the comments posted on this blog, including from people who have gone through the $400 per month coaching.
Rich, I admire your ability to allow your critiques have their say.
We see in others (to some extent) our own mental reflections based on whatever we consider as important.
On reading the report, I found Rich Schefren to be a person who applies his mind to problems and tries to solve them in an intelligent manner that can be translated into a teachable procedure. Some others see him as a “filthy rich” young man who is outshining all others and getting richer.
Now I need to add to my review:
When you go to draw on a well of knowledge it is important to have something more than a bigger, leak proof container. You need a container that is not contaminated by a poisonous coating.
Better still.. you need a mental test tube connected to an objective testing and tracking system.
Thanks, Rich, and God Bless you. You provide much value to the community of providers, generally, of “information products”. But what of us who deal in the big stuff? I sell Portland cement, urea fertilizer, and commercial and VIP aircraft (need a nice Boeing 767-200EM ready to fly? Come see my website!)
Somehow, I don’t expect to find many builders of 40-story office buildings, major airport runways, dams, or 80,000-unit apartment buildings in Libya hanging out on MySpace. These are the people I need to talk to: The guys who buy a quarter billion dollars worth of cement for a single project. Or tens of thousands of metric tons of urea fertilizer to keep the people of Bangladesh from starving. People who get off on expensive toys like said 767 above (about $36,000,000.00USD) or who want to build an 82,000-plus unit apartment complex in Libya.
My business is overrun by frauds, thieves, and just plain idiots who think it’s easy to get rich here. I know one guy personally who scammed almost a quarter BILLION dollars out of a company, then got greedy over what amounted to pennies, and blew the whole thing. I think he’s on his way to federal slam, but I’ve not heard from him for months, and his business and name are gone from the Web, so he may just be waiting for it to blow over. Who knows, who cares…
But I’m committed to this insanity, Rich. I’m in it past my eyeballs, and I can’t just turn around and walk away. So where is your plan for people like me? The guys who live on the B2B sites searching for real buyers, spend hours studying banking law to make sure we don’t screw up, studying US Treasury sites to make sure we don’t sell to the Bad Bois and get busted ourselves, studying the industry so we know how much urea fertilizer the world is capable of producing, so we can laugh hysterically when some self-styled “reseller” calls up and wants a quote on 400 million metric tonnes. All that stuff.
I read all 93 pages, Rich, and nowhere did I find out how to contact the **REAL BUYERS**
Oh, I have a myspace blog, and there I did the unthinkable and put some advertising on it, but all I expect to come from that is some testy old woman (figuratively speaking) bitching at me for having the effrontery to say “I SELL STUFF”. And it links to both of my business websites.
But somehow, I don’t think the CEO of Granite Construction is going to call me and ask me out for coffee tomorrow to talk over their projects and see what I can do for them with my Ukrainian cement (arguably the world’s best). And likewise the CEO of ConAgra won’t consult with me on my being able to provide them with Russian urea fertilizer at about half their current selling price.
Will they?
Talk to me, Rich. Tell me you have ideas for people in my business. Cuz, buddy, I need ‘em.
All the best, God Bless you and grant you health and prosperity.

BILL,
Greetings from rural Australia.
I see that Carol Bentley has already given you some very valuable advice and encouragement. And I’m adding my two cents as well.
I also sell products, but in a totally different market. I use the internet as part of my marketing mix. My offline marketing drives traffic to my internet site for customers to gain more information and order online if that’s their choice.
Now to you. You unconsciously answered your own question in this paragraph, which I’ve lifted from your comment.
‘But I’m committed to this insanity, Rich. I’m in it past my eyeballs, and I can’t just turn around and walk away. So where is your plan for people like me? The guys who live on the B2B sites searching for real buyers, spend hours studying banking law to make sure we don’t screw up, studying US Treasury sites to make sure we don’t sell to the Bad Bois and get busted ourselves, studying the industry so we know how much urea fertilizer the world is capable of producing, so we can laugh hysterically when some self-styled “reseller†calls up and wants a quote on 400 million metric tonnes. All that stuff.’
You have so much technical and legal information to share with your potential customers and your market niche as a whole. For free, to win them over and get them to trust you. If you do this on a consistent basis, you become the ‘go to guy’ for your entire market.
For example my partner, Victor Pleshev, who designs our products, is also an architect. When we relocated to the Australian bush from metropolitan Sydney, he had no contacts and found it hard to establish an architectural practice here. But he discovered that local councils were using architects for projects who had no PI insurance and little knowledge about building laws, etc. Hard to believe, isn’t it?
So he visited all the councils, giving away free information about how they should protect themselves against litigation with correct design policies and procedures. Today, he’s the ‘go to guy’ for three local councils and has more work than he can handle. Purely on his initial approach to give away his knowledge for free.
This is what Rich Schefren, Chet Holmes, Jay Abraham and Jay Conrad Levinson preach on a constant basis. Help people first and they’ll be queuing up to do business with you. But not immediately. That’s the catch. It takes some time.
Carol Bentley gave you some good tips on how to do this. She’s obviously on her way to Maven Land!
Like you, I’ve looked at MySpace several times and can’t see it as the place for me. My customers are very conservative and it just doesn’t feel right. It’s like walking into a noisy bar and knowing your real place is the piano lounge.
I’m also reluctant to place personal information on a site. Not only am I too private a person for that, identity fraud also concerns me. And I’ve also read some harsh criticisms on MySpace about people, which I’m sure are meant to be hurtful. I’d rather find a quieter, more compassionate place in the jungle to do business.
I really do believe, like Carol Bentley, that with a concentrated and doggedly determined program of introducing useful and helpful information, you’ll discover that Granite Construction and ConAgra will eventually open their door and welcome you. But probably not on the first knock.
You might be able to make that happen a bit sooner by joint venturing with a non-competitive company who can open the doors just enough for you to get your foot in. That’s also part of Carol Bentley’s valuable advice.
Bill, I hope this helps you. You have such a wealth of important information to share that will set you apart from all your competitors. It’s hard to do business in countries where corruption is part of the deal. And how you work around that is part of your business approach.
Best wishes, Bill. I’m sure there are many others on Rich’s blog that can offer you encouragement as well.
Take care,

“Carol” must mean “Helpful” in some language. It certainly does here. Based on input from the both of ya, I’ve written a white paper on the uses of cement in the single-shipload quantity we offer as a “sample” for those who don’t want to go to seven figures to begin with. It will be sent out to every construction company I can find on the Web as a freebie, and will invite them to try our product. None of the Big Boys in the industry would dream of selling only one small (12,500 metric tonne) shipload. But I did. And my seller is backing me up on the idea.
Check out my web tomorrow December 4 and you can download it too, for critique!
Thanks, and God Bless you both!

I note that the rather huge post I made before didn’t show up, so I guess it was too big, or someone decided it was off topic. I was asking how your document is applicable to me. I sell hard commodities, and I don’t think most of the CEOs of big construction companies spend much time on MySpace or searching through Google for Portland cement sellers. Likewise, someone who is going to buy a Boeing 767-200EM VIP jet is unlikely to look for me there. But I sell both of those things.
Your wisdom is solicited!

(I hope this one makes it!)
Hi Bill,
I totally understand your frustration. And whilst you’re waiting for Rich’s reply, here’s my 2 cent’s worth – hope it helps.
Let me start with a couple of questions:
Do your customers ask for your advice before they place an order with you?
Do you get the same or similar questions coming up time and time again?
Are you often giving important advice on what they need to know before and after they make a decision?
All of this wisdom in your industry can be incorporated into your own ‘report’ or white paper, which you can give away free.
Then let your existing customers know the report is available as a gift. Ask them to tell people they know in the industry – start spreading the word.
Look for other companies who market to the same businesses you want to reach but who are not in direct competition. Offer them your report as a free gift to their customers.
You could go one step further and create a full Joint Venture program, which Jay Abraham is a master of doing.
Find trade journals and send press releases offering the free report to the readers.
I know this is all ‘out in the real world’ – but it could get you started ;) and then you’ll be ready to implement Rich’s brilliant methods.
Good luck
Carol
I just wanted to say “Thank you!” and let you know that your suggestions and those of the “other Carol” have fired my imagination and made me work out a way to give something away to those whom I want to be my customers.
You both get Gold Stars!
All the best, and God Bless you!

Rich,
I thank you for sharing so much content. I don’t recall who sent me an email linking your site, but I have been grateful ever since. When I read, and downloaded your manifesto I was blown away. This new information is even more compelling. Your intuition about marketing trends is second to none.
You succeed because you seem honest and not afraid to share all what you have learned. I applaud your efforts in your hard work and your willingness to bring forth this insightful marketing report.
This will definitely help me to finally realize my goal of having a successful online business. Now…if I could just afford your program.
Warmest regards,
Rick
Hi Rich.
Can’t believe how much you’re giving away here. An exceptional read which can only be of enormous benefit to the smaller marketer like myself.
Very many thanks.
I see that some are having a gripe about the fact that you say you’re going to charge “an arm and a leg” for the follow-up product.
All I can say is, if there’s any folow-up product to this ‘doctrine’ it MUST be worth an arm and a leg.
You also say it won’t be for everyone.
(That’s the whole point that they’ve missed I think.)
I certainly will ‘not’ be able to afford the follow-up.
But I’m so very grateful that you’ve shared as much ‘valuable’ information as yu have FOR FREE!
So many people WILL benefit.
You will obviously benefit from those who CAN afford the end product, so good luck to you AND them.
You’re a very rare GEM in this industry Rich.
Thankyou,
Pete Moring.
I have been able to download the Doctrine 2 but I can not find the Doctrine #1 anywhere to download. Please provide the link for the first version.
Thank you.
Rich,
very good job on your “doctrine”. Want to know what really bugs me? Telephone interruptions from marketers. I’m really sick of them. They seem to think that having your phone # is an open invitation to waste your time. I guess that kind of marketing still works, though, or they wouldn’t keep doing it.You are right about the value of attention.
Rich…
thanks for your wisdom… lots to think about! Sure, not everything suits my needs but I valued reading your approach.

Sounds great the manifesto, but despite having registered with eight, yes 8, different email addresses the elusive link never arrived, so I am download less!
Anybody out there willing to share a copy? Seems that I am fated not to get it!
Hi Rich
fantastic content and you actually do what you talk about, which is a real inspiration to others to follow in your footsteps.
The idea of giving great value, tons of information and ‘how-to’ stuff has been my doctrine for years now. And I was always being told “You’re too generous, giving all that info away” – but I just love to see the success people get when they put it into action. And now you’ve confirmed what my gut-feeling has been for so long. Thank you so much for that. :)
So I guess I’ll just carry on the same way I always have – but with the added impetus of getting the word out a bit more than I’ve done up to now ;)
I look forward to the launch on 18th Dec, and I’ll let my blog readers know about your report.
Carol
Hi Rich
I’m calling from the UK! Just read your Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 – and it’s well, just FANTASTIC!!!! mind blowing! Thank you so much! Lizzie Hop.
Doctrine 2 is great!
Where can I find Doctrine 1?
Well I never!
I got a reply from the man himself. At some ridiculously early hour of the morning US time, Rich personally delivered the link to me (by email, of course; he’s not that superhuman).
I have all of Rich’s outpourings in a well-hidden binder and am really looking forward to reading this one.
I was fortunate enough to meet Rich in Atlanta in January and I have the DVD’s from the event to rerun.
What he says is fairly profound and you do need some time to digest it all.
His courses are expensive, but when I have managed to make the time and the money to take one, I’m sure the investment will be repaid many times over.
Thanks Rich
Wow!
Rich and all , Just to let you all know Ive got the ATTENTION of a major Hollywood movie producer..here’s the proof http://www.kgalewood.com
Posted videos on Youtube bare two weeks ago http://www.youtube.com/kgalewood
Thanks for validating social media stuff
simply a great start!
Thanks Rich for a well-written report. It was very nice to look at my marketing plan for my upcoming new product release and see that most of what you talked about I’m either already doing or will be doing as part of my launch http://www.homehealthcarebooks.com/col
Thank you for your honest and up front teaching style and for understanding that if you give out free content, you gain trust and paying customers!
Rich,
Awesome stuff! I read the whole report on a flight last night and it validated a lot of the thoughts I’ve been having as of late concerning the quickest and most effective ways to generate buzz and create trust between myself and my target audience.
Social media is here to stay and those that master it will ride the next wave of online profits. Thanks for giving us all a head start!

Rich… Whew! What a mind dump that was. After sequestering myself (‘do not disturb’ sign and all) in my study and poring over your report (twice), I was awestruck by the practicality of your ‘maven’ approach.
We sell marketing programs to medical specialties who have many years of training and experience in their fields, but no true direction and focus to their marketing. Although I have gleaned a lot of knowledge from my association with them, I have never thought of it as positioning myself as the uber-marketer to my niche.
There is no question in my mind that shifting my persona from ’sales guy’ to maven would have a huge effect on sales, and help spur ideas for new products. I’m intrigued!
Now the challenge begins: mapping out my path. This journey of one thousand miles begins today. Best Regards, fred
Excellent stuff! Very applicable to e-business and to life in general. I see this attention phenomenon all the time with students. I also see the maven model at work in ratemyprofessors.com, facebook, myspace, etc. Amazing to see it so well spelled out in one place. Thanks!
Rich,
Just received Web Marketing 2.0 and immediately read it in it’s entirety. Thank you for the fresh and refreshing ideas.
wake up people a must read

At first I was a little bit esceptic and lazy when I was going to start reading. But by the time I started passing pages I came very interested in every word. I think is one of the best article I have ever read, I simply loved and look forward for new products. Thanks a lot!!
Great report Rich
The formula to become a millionaire in internet marketing is very simple Just 4 steps, there is no secrets i agree.
Just keep it simple.
1.Find a market with HUGE e-mail lists of happy buyers
2.Become friends with the list owners to create max.buzz
3.Create a great product ($500-$1000)
4.Launch the product
That’s it,do it and forget about ppc seo ecc..
The world say WELCOME to a new millionaire!
Get rich quick dont work?:-) hmmm…
Hey Rich
I dont see how anyone could have gotten by without this message including myself. Some of the doctrine is so in depth
That i couldn’t believe you put in words so well. If anyone reads this report and says they didn’t get some great knowledge from it and goes out to put into effect like i am going to do doesn’t really want to get their business going in the right direction.
One of the best i have read keep it up Rich
